'American Idol' Results Show: Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen

Tonight we find out the next three contestants to advance to the Top 12 on American Idol! This post will continually update throughout the broadcast, so if you're following along, keep hitting refresh. After the jump, let's see what the results show has in store for us tonight!

Sorry for the liveblog snafu last night, guys. We aren't doing that anymore and I wasn't supposed to do it in the first place. It was a miscommunication, but now we are doing regular recaps that just happen to update as the show goes along. Thanks for all the feedback and thanks for reading!

On to the show... Alexis, Danny and Michael are onstage, perched on those really uncomfortable-looking stools. Man, do they have to sit there all hour? That kind of sucks.

We watch a video recap of this week's group of 12. It's unnecessary and boring. I wish results shows were 30 minutes instead of 60. Sigh.

Group Sing Time! It's "Closer" by Ne-Yo. The guys take the lead and they all sound pretty good. There's an unfortunate dance move where they snap their fingers and wiggle and Matt Breitzke just can't quite do it right. It's pretty funny.

The girls take their turn and... Jeanine Vailes is dressed like Ellie May Clampett. That's a little disturbing. I really like this song, though. I also like seeing Nick Mitchell be normal. Hey, did Megan Corkrey just pull Mishavonna Henson back from the camera? Or was Mishavonna about to take an accidental stage-dive and Megan saved her? Could go either way. Will they end with their hands in the air? Will they? And then... the answer is no! Wow, that's different.

We're back with a video of last night's performances. Jasmine bored me, Matt G was too boy band, Jeanine stunk, Nick was disturbing and funny, Matt B was forgettable, Kai did bad karaoke, Kris pulled it out, Jesse sexed it up, Adam shrieked and stomped, Megan sounded great but wiggled around like Edith Ann, Mishovonna surprised me, and Allison rocked out.

Seacrest chats with the Idols for a minute, it's a time-waster. Finally we dim the lights and Seacrest calls Allison, Jesse, and Matt B down to the stage. One of them is through and it is Allison! Yay, that's fantastic. She really was the best last night. She reprises "Alone" and we go to commercial. Well done, little girl. You sure as hell sound older than 16 years, Allison.

Back from the break, we go right back into results. Megan, Kris, Matt G and Jeanine are brought down. Megan looks really hot tonight with bright red lipstick, bright red pants and a black keyhole shirt. I like her hair better when it's wavy, though. Well, if it's one of them through it has to be Megan. Paula says she doesn't know who could be through, but she does let us know it's NOT Jeanine. Snerk.

Seacrest then sends Jeanine and Matt back to contestants' row. Well, if they reveal two girls having made it, then Mishavonna and Jasmine know they aren't through. So it must be Kris? Weird. I didn't think he did that well. Hmmm. And then Seacrest reveals that Kris is through. Ugh. Seriously? That means it's Allison, Kris and Adam Lambert, probably. That's just not right, there should be two females through. Terrible.

Kris's reprise of "Man in the Mirror" starts off just as blandly as last night. Seriously, who voted for this milquetoast dude? The ending has a big note that goes sharp. I am so disappointed that Megan and Jesse will have to fight it out in the Wild Card show (if they get picked, I guess). Boo.

There is now some ridiculous video of "highlights" from all seasons set to "Wonderful World." I'm pretty sure we've seen this EXACT video montage already on THIS season. Have they run out of filler ideas and are now just recycling old filler? That is lazy and weak, Idol. If I have to sit through this crapfest filler, you could at least make an effort.

Hey, Brooke White is here! Now this is some filler I can get behind, I adore her. She's performing her first single, "Hold Up My Heart," which became available on iTunes yesterday and which Brooke co-wrote. Nifty. She plays the piano and sounds just as sweet as ever. I want to be friends with her. The song is kind-of weird. "I know I'm not as pretty as I used to be?" Was that a lyric? Is she singing as a 65 year-old woman? Or someone horribly disfigured in a bus accident? I'm so confused.

Seacrest informs us we can register to win a trip to a Ford Music Video taping and also a special limited edited Idol Fusion. So does it include verbal abuse, a crying tween and someone calling me "dawg" all the time? Because that would be kind of awesome.

Results time. Mishavonna, Kai, Nick, Adam and Jasmine are brought down. There's no way it's not Adam out of this group. Seacrest immediately sends Mishavonna, Kai and Jasmine back to the couches. Man, if Nick pulled the upset and beat out Adam... too funny. TOO FUNNY.

After a break, we get down to it. The next man making it through is... Emo Guy with Bad Hair. No surprises there. I am pretty surprised at Kris Allen, though. I really think Jesse and Megan were both better than he was and both deserve to compete on the Wild Card night.

Adam's reprise of "Satisfaction" is just as smug and campy as last night. Seriously, this guy needs to rein in his theatricality. He just seems so pleased with himself. Between that vibe and his stupid hair, I kind of want to punch him. Also, I don't enjoy being screamed at. Not even when it's Steven Tyler or Mick Jagger. So I certainly don't like it when it's some emo pretty boy on American Idol.

Next week's Group of 12 is Arianna Afsar, Junot Joyner, Kristen McNamara, Nathanial Marshall, Lil Rounds, Jorge Nunez, Kendall Beard, Scott McIntyre, Felicia Barton, Von Smith, Taylor Vaifanua, and Alex Wagner-Trugman. My early picks are Lil Rounds, Scott McInTyre and Taylor Vaifanua.
