'90210': The Wilsons do it in a mini-van
Last time on 90210... I Moan took the wrap for Adrianna's drugs, Adrianna hooked up with Navid (but not biblically), and then found out she was pregnant. Dun dun dun!
Annie and Ethan have some special phone time in which they confess their love for each other. Oh dear. The next morning, Grandma Awesome rehearses for a movie called "Red Coats and Blue Bloods." Heh heh.
School. Annie and Ethan smooch and it's totally barf-worthy. Silver echoes my sentiment with "Gag me." Dixon is taken aback by her reaction. Elsewhere, Navid and Adrianna do a lighting test in the AV room and he talks about how happy he is just the way things are. He likes him some Barack Obama but changes is a bad thing. Snerk.
P.E. I Moan and Adrianna beg off of field hockey and... where did those cutie-patootie uniforms come from? Seriously. I would've played field hockey if those were the uniforms. Inside, Adrianna asks I Moan to have dinner with her so they can talk and I Moan is really weird about it, then gets called away by her Moanettes. Trendy, but tasty. She says she thinks Adrianna is using again and her new "friends" tell her to leave Adrianna alone. Science class. Adrianna passes out and I Moan says to one of her Moanettes that she can't believe this is happening again.
Lunch. Dixon is harassed into confessing he's joined the choir at school. Silver makes fun of him, which is kind of mean. Maybe Dixon is a really good singer (which we know he is). Harry interrupts lunch with an announcement that school is cancelled tomorrow due to a heat wave. Awesome. I remember school being cancelled because the wind chill was -40. That's the same, right?
I Moan finds Navid and tells him that Adrianna is using again. He doesn't believe her. Grandma Awesome pulls up with a new car for Annie and Dixon. At home, Debbie freaks out and says no. Later, Grandma Awesome gets her revenge by giving Annie her keys to her Palm Springs Getaway. Grandma says she already asked Debbie, which is total crap, and Annie accepts the keys with glee. Woot woot! Somebody's giving up the V card!
Peach Pit. Dixon bitches to Navid about Silver and her sarcastic nature. Navid advises Dixon that Silver is just jealous of things like Annie and Ethan saying "I love you." Hmm. I'm not sure, but we'll see.
Wilson House. Debbie is fighting with Grandma Awesome over the thermostat. Harry pusses out on taking control and Debbie suggests that maybe they shouldn't live in Grandma's house.
Library playground (inexplicably). I Moan talks to Adrianna about her "problem" and is shocked to find out it is pregnancy and not drug use. I Moan is surprisingly sweet. I like the I Moan-Adrianna relationship on this show, I gotta tell you. I wish they had explored it more, or would explore it more in the future. Adrianna confesses to being scared and I Moan holds her hand. Awww. At the beach party, I Moan and Adrianna mull over her problem and not telling Navid.
Annie invites Ethan to Palm Springs and you can practically see the word "S-E-X" dancing in front of his eyes. Oh dear. They get to Grandma Awesome's Awesome House and I can't believe they don't just drop to the tile and go for it. Annie very smoothly asks Ethan if he wants to play cards or have food or something. Smooth.
Beach party. Silver has on a super-cute swimming suit and tells Dixon they are making THE sand castle. Cute. Some creepy guy comes upon I Moan and Adrianna laying out and I Moan tells "George" to beat it. Hmm.
Wilson House. Debbie wonders when Annie will be home from the beach party and Grandma Awesome interjects by telling them that Annie is in Palm Springs. G-ma Awesome defends herself but Debbie loses her mind. Harry finally grows a pair and says that Annie is their daughter and that G-ma had no right to butt in. G-ma doesn't love it, but Debbie sure does.
Palm Springs. Annie ignores a call from her mom and then tells Ethan that she's ready to have sex with him. Their euphemism of "go to Palm Springs" is wearing thin, guys. They leave the restaurant and get with the macking back at G-ma's house. Annie can't stop giggling and I liked that the first time... when it was Ross and Rachel from Friends. Annie gets all schmoopy about Ethan being her one and only and I'm surprised there isn't an Ethan-sized hole in the door. He then doesn't let me down... because he balks at the sex because he's not sure about hurting Annie. She says, "You just did" and walks off. Oooh.
Beach party. I Moan confronts the Moanettes about their talking trash about Adrianna. They back down and I Moan stalks off. Asshat George teases Navid about Adrianna and Navid jumps him. Adrianna drags Navid away and they talk. He knows she isn't using again but she confesses to being pregnant and he freaks. He says he just needs to walk away right now. She looks crushed.
Palm Springs. Harry and Debbie drive up to the house and see Ethan's car. Heh heh. They skulk around the house with a flashlight, which is hilarious. This is very Keyston Kops of them. I want a spin-off of Harry and Debbie Wilson solving crimes like on "Silk Stalkings." They decide to leave once they see Ethan and Annie sleeping in separate beds. They lament about just trying to do their best with the parenting thing and then start fooling around in the car. Woo woo, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson!!!!
Beach party. Dixon gazes at Silver over a sandcastle and then spits out, "I love you." She responds with that awesome response of "Thank you." They fight over him being mad at her because she didn't say it back and she storms off. Dixon looks gobsmacked.
Palm Springs. The next morning, Annie and Ethan find Harry and Debbie in the back of the car, sans clothing. A-W-E-S-O-M-E. Ethan fights not to laugh his ass off at his principal and his principal's wife naked in the back of a car and the Wilsons send them on their merry way. Heh heh heh.
Adrianna finds Navid at school. He says that he wants to be able to handle this but in reality he doesn't know how to handle it. He apologizes and she cries. It's nice work by Jessica Lowndes. Elsewhere, Silver apologizes to Dixon and he brushes it off and asks her to pretend it didn't happen. He's weird to her, though, and she knows it.
Wilson house. G-ma Awesome makes a smoothie and Debbie says the car present for the kids was a nice thing. She says they have to pay for their own gas. Debbie and G-ma come to an understanding and G-ma says she's headed to Concord, MA for the "Red Coats and Blue Bloods" shooting. Awesome.
Field hockey. I Moan apologizes to Adrianna for the rumors about her drug use and they have a nice scene of reconciliation. I Moan says, "If you want to have this baby, I'll go with you to lamaze class. If you don't want to have it, I'll take you to the clinic. And if you can't decide, I'll sit with you 'til you can. If you'll let me." It's really, really nice.
Annie finds Ethan and he apologizes for last night. He wants to be with her but it's not just sex with her. Her emotions make him realize that he feels the same way but that he wants it to have a strong foundation when they get there. It's very Brenda/Dylan at the prom, guys. He proposes a typical high school date and some good ol' fashioned making out. They smooch us into the credits.

I like your nicknames for the characters.
But I don't see how Annie and Ethan are like Brenda and Dylan at the prom. First off all, B & D did it at the spring dance, not prom, and well, they actually did it--Annie and Ethan waited.

Naomi took the "rap" not "wrap".
Naomi and Ade were "lying out" not "laying out."
Is it me or I'm liking more the Adriana storyline than any other caracter and she's not even a regular in the cast.
I don't love this show, but I did think this was one of the stronger episodes without the old 90210-ers. I agree with Andrea, I liked the scene where Naomi tells Adrianna that she will take her to the clinic, etc. Very nice work.
And more Grandma! She rocks!
Oh, and I think, but am not sure, that George was the jerk at the beginning of the season who was trying to get Dixon kicked off the soccer team or whatever it was.
Hpoirier, you aren't the only one. I really like Adrianna and her storyline, Navid etc. Think she is much more interesting than Annie/Ethan
Annie & Ethan make me wanna throw up. That's all.
I'm shocked, but lately, I like Naomi when she's not catty with Annie. Or basically any scene between the two. So phony.
Naomi's new look and seeming niceness, great improvement. Ethan has developed a little wit and personality, like Nate on GG.
However, Silver, generally the incisive voice of the skeptical viewer, was irrational. If they establish her behavior was related to her family, then that's something to explore. Otherwise, I see the outburst at the beach typically adolescent, but not in character for Silver.
Oh... and why wasn't Dixon a little icked by his sister making out??
Etahan needs to be DEVELOPED he is such a dud and we know nothing about him or who he is and its hard for me to be attached to him because I cant stand Shenae's acting.
I understand why Navid couldnt handle this but I wish we knew more about him other then the "nice" guy. The characters need to actually do things that make them human other then Adrianna. The adult storylines were great.
Andrea, first of all, your recap was great. I always seem to miss 90210 when it's on, so it's delightful to catch up with something that's funnier and well-written than the show itself. Secondly, I particularly loved the reference to Harry and Debbie starring in their own show a la "Silk Stalkings" and I was wondering whether that was a intentional nod to the fact that Rob Estes starred on "Silk Stalkings." If so, that's totally awesome. If not, that's even more awesome, because talk about a very cool coincidence.
I don't know. Ethan, the guy who in the first episode was being vacuumed crazy in her car by a slutty girl, the guy who was "active" with Naomi, suddenly does not want to do it with Annie. This is not the case of Navid's virgin scare. Ethan came out as a really GAY guy in this episode (God I hope he is and that Annie finds him high-heeling around ala Victoria's Secret Fashion Show).
Naomi and Adrianna are excellent together and I loved their storylines. Silver and Dixon, creepy but I like em both. I also love the Blendeds ("Moanettes"). Everyone is fine except Annie and Ethan. Boring as hell.
Sad to see grandma go. I think the actress is leaving the show.
