'Stylista': Kate and her "booby parade" are sent packing

Kate_stylista_240 Tonight on Stylista, I learned that the 80's are back, supermodels are obnoxious, and hard work will get you nowhere. And thus I resolve to wear nothing but Hammer Pants and bedazzled t-shirts, insist upon being served organic melon balls everywhere I go, and do nothing but call other people names and be bossy. I'll be running a fashion magazine in no time!

Assistant Task: Prepare a hotel suite for Maggie Rizer using her absurd contract rider, a $300 budget and two hours. The rider, of course, has a lot of really random items and requests. Dyshaun goes with a quality over quantity strategy while Kate goes balls-out trying to get everything. Johanna focuses on the dog-related requests, and Ashlie is methodical in trying to get everything set. Megan...is Megan (i.e. too awful for me to pay close attention lest my head explode). Dyshaun wins the challenge thanks to keeping the food wrapped and buying thoughtful items. Ashlie commits the cardinal sin of leaving (deadly to dogs) chocolate within reach of the dogs. Yikes.

Editorial Challenge: To create a four-page fashion layout for Elle and style the model for the shoot using clothing and accessories from the Elle closet. They'll be directing hair and makeup as well as the photographer and model. Dyshaun thinks he's got it in the bag as a stylist, and chooses Megan and Johanna for his team, teaming up Kate with Ashlie again.

Ashlie_stylista_240 Team Underdog: They're working largely with black clothing and splashes of color, collaborating as a team and enjoying their time together. WHAT?!! This is a disturbing lack of drama. Though Kate does take all the swimsuits, pissing off the other team. Their shoot goes really well well and it's muuuch more conceptual and creative than Team Megan Sucks' shoot. Dyshaun and Megan laugh at loud during their shoot, which is pretty weak, but they quickly realize how much better Team Underdog is doing.

They actually have so many great shots that they're crunched on time just choosing between them and creating a cohesive layout. I worry a bit that they'll end up with a photo mosaic rather than a layout page. Their layout borrows a lot from the 80's, and it has a clear point of view with really fun, creative photos. Joe Zee applauds them from thinking out of the box and taking risks. Slowey thinks there may be too many pictures, however. The judges worry that they were too in love with their work to a) edit and b) accept criticism.

Dyshaun_stylista_240 Team Megan Sucks: Dyshaun tries to get in Kate's head by asking her if she likes tacky items, and then not using them if she says yes. Ugh. They go for a playful/sophisticated/ladylike look (what?), with many, many colors. Dyshaun tries to be all bossy and leader-like, but it just comes off as douchy and wannabe 80's executive: "I need her made up, like, five minutes ago." Um, Dyshaun, that expression is, like, five billion years ago. Johanna, worried that she'll be headed home after so many weeks on the losing team, tries to step up on the layout. Dyshaun spends his time being a jerk to Team Underdog, even calling Kate "Chlamydia." UGH. She leaves in tears, of course.

Their layout is lighter on the photos, and Joe Zee loves it, but he thinks they played it safe. The photos are very catalogue, as Tyra would say. Slowey finds it professional, though. Kate freaks out a bit and says to the judges that Team Megan Sucks didn't consult with the hair and makeup people at all after the first 20 minutes. Um, that's pretty uncool, no matter what STD they called her. But okay, seriously, HOW could the judges like their boring photos better? Throwing a crayon box worth of colors together in one outfit isn't exactly what they meant by risk-taking, was it?

Results: The judges name Team Megan Sucks the winners, and I take to the streets in riotous protest. Well, not exactly. No one cares about Stylista THAT much. It was the failure in editing that brought about Team Underdog's downfall, and the judges are seriously concerned both with Kate's lack of professionalism and Ashlie's layout. Ashlie rightly earns another week, and Kate says that she hates the "abusive," "wicked" other team and that it would be a mistake to hire any of them -- she's happy to no longer work with them. And yet sounds oddly positive saying it.

Is it possible that I was secretly rooting for Kate this entire time? Because I'm kind of sad to see her go. I'm pretty confident that she was the most talented stylist in the group, at least. But I guess that's like saying I'm the most talented baseball player amongst a group of T-ballers.

Did anyone actually think Team Megan Sucks deserved to win? Who should've been eliminated?

I liked the best, then Ashley. I think Megan looks like she could grow a beard at any minute. I think Kate blew it with the outburst. The show will be far less interesting now. I hope Kate finds stardom elsewhere.

I loved Kate even though I went back and forth on her. I think they would have won the challenge if she could have kept her freaking mouth shut during judging. They declared the winners so they could get rid of Kate. Which after that outburst she pretty much deserved. I was impressed to see Ashley finally stand up for her. It will be interesting to see who they all gang up and attack next since their punching bag is gone.

I think if Kate could have learned to control her mouth, she would have won, and they were right - they were too in love with their photos although the other team's layout was too boring. I agree that it's not just the shoot and styling, but editing, but Kate was right, the instructions were focused on the styling.

I haven't cared for Ashlie, but now with these 4 - and you're right - who really cares - if either Megan or Dyshaun wins, I will be seriously ****ed. How is it non-stop verbal and sexual har***ment is ok just because it's a reality competition? Love to see him make supervisor on some job being a woman hater. At this point I'm sure Dyshaun and Megan are there for drama only.

I did NOT care for Kate, yet as the group continually beat up on her week after week, I began to sympathize with her. Ultimately, I sort of admired her for being authentically herself. As ridiculous as she was capable of being, she didn't seem to be putting on an act and after awhile, really was being persecuted. I think she could get noticed for some sort of "personality" work in media/entertainment.

As for the episode, Kate and Ashlie did have the best concept and in terms of the challenge as stated - "styling", they did the better job. But as is always the case, the *actual* challenge always boils down to the pages they create.

Team Megan *and* Dyshaun Sucks did do a better job with their layout, though I thought their actual styling was atrocious.

I think if Kate hadn't made her outburst at panel, either her team would have won the challenge outright or Ashlie might have been sent home - since as she mentioned herself, it was her lack of editing that screwed the layout. Though I kept wondering if they would get some slack for being a team of two versus a team of three... obviously, they didn't.

I think I really agree with Kate's final ***essment of the remaining players (which was crazy inappropriate but definitely funny). I think Johanna has been the least annoying overall, but her near desperation to win rubs me the wrong way. Ashlie has been kind of a b---- herself, but her being nice to Kate really redeemed her this week, in my opinion.

I think that if I could have reached thru my TV, I would have strangled Dyshaun with one of his scarves!! He's an *** and deserved to be smacked! The show wont be worth watching now with Miss Boobs gone. And I liked her outbursts. She spoke up for herself. She was right at the end when she brought up the fact that the other team didnt consult at all with hair and makeup. What the show should have done was brought the model and hair/make up artists in and give their opinions on how the teams directed them. I loved her little speech at the end when she got sent home. Did you notice nobody actually said goodbye to her? And seriously, who flies around the world with 2 Golden Retreivers?? Well, besides a Supermodel! Guess she needs them cause they match her hair.

If this had been THE APPRENTICE Kate would have won!

I also felt the sexual har***ment should have been dealt with! However, DeShaun seemed to succeed in pushing Kate to the point where she was the one who looked like a jerk in the judging room. I was rooting for her this episode.

Dyshun, or Douche-on, is an *** hat. This series is so tacky. Kate should sue Douche-on for sexual har***ment. He was over the line all the time. Gay or not you cant talk to ppl that way boy!

That model was a *****! And Dyshon needs a good *** whoopin. Come to my town guy.

My God, nearly all the commenters are retarded.

Really, Kate lost because she couldn't take the big bad opinions, and the fashion world is FULL OF THEM, and she couldn't stop whining about others/praising herself at all times. The near end of the episode was the best example of her bratty attitude.

Kate was nothing special, smart, interesting, or even dramatic, but one of those cheap T.V tricks producers use to make people like us watch the reality shows.

She was a *****, and she was only kept till the near end because she provided good old drama. Why do you think she was still in the show until the end? Because it was almost over, and she wans't needed anymore. Kate was never a real contestant, but a human prop. The End.

If I seem rude and blunt, then my tone is out then. I'm sorry if anyone is offended, but this is pretty much what I think of Kate: BAAAWWWW!
