'Privileged': "My Ass Could Write Better than Hemingway"
On last week's Privileged, the twins learned the power of marketing, and Laurel accused Megan of blackmail when Megan inadvertently discovered the ill-timed birth of the twins' mother. Wow, Palm Beach is not a good place to find a functional family, is it?
Megan trills into the kitchen that her best friend from Yale, Caryn, is flying in to visit today. She thinks Marco will love her! I think she's probably wrong! Laurel waltzes in and snubs Megan; Will waltzes in because he apparently has no food in his house. Megan asks Will to take her Caryn out on the town, and Will begs off, claiming he has to intern for a sports photographer at a charity tennis tournament. He offers tickets to the tournament, which Megan accepts. The twins do their usual liking/hating Megan thing and are interrupted when Caryn arrives at the door. Caryn and Megan commiserate about bosses who don't respect vacation time, which...are there bosses who respect vacation time? Can I have one?
The twins meet with Patricia, who reminds them that they are big fish in a very small pond; Sage turns out to be a better businesswoman than Rose. Rose and Sage offer Patricia their singing/guitar demo, which she accepts. Caryn and Megan bitch over dinner until Laurel walks in to eviscerate Megan about the twins' progress report. Laurel also reminds Megan that she never gave her permission to have a houseguest. Caryn's phone rings with the news that she's been promoted. Megan fails to be happy for her, but is able to convince Marco to make her congratulatory cupcakes. Caryn offers Megan a chance at her former job and calls Megan a "nanny."
Rose enjoys, but struggles with, A Farewell to Arms, while Sage plows through it easily and pronounces it crap. Patricia calls with the news that the twins are invited to perform at the opening of a nightclub in Miami tomorrow. Megan and Caryn drool over Will and are overheard by his sports photographer boss Peter; she accidentally outs Will as an heir to his boss. She admits as much to Will, causing him to miss the money shot. He is upset, claiming that it will change his and Peter's dynamic. Back at Les Anges, Megan sets out a tray of macarons and tea sandwiches for the twins' study session, which they blow off to meet with their new stylist. Megan bemoans what she views as a loss of progress with with twins. She and Caryn dress up in...abandoned prom dresses?...and stand in line at clubs until they give up, go home and eat Chinese takeout. Caryn suggests Megan write her story for Caryn's literary review.
Will shows the photos from the match to his boss Peter, who is unusually complimentary and doesn't allow Will to refill his coffee. Peter is bitter than Will didn't feel like Peter couldn't handle the truth of who he really is. At the nightclub rehearsal, Rose and Sage cover "Fever", and Rose really does have a beautiful voice. Patricia gushes over Rose, and pretty much ignores Sage, which you had better believe does not go unnoticed by Sage. Meanwhile, Megan complains to Marco about her status as a "glorified babysitter" and Laurel's attempts to make her fail. Marco tells her to buck up, and that Will has lost his job. She leaves him a rambling apologetic voicemail while Caryn spends hours on her Blackberry with Michael Chabon, which...yeah, right. The twins, styled incredibly poorly, meet Perez Hilton, who has a face and a voice for print journalism. Rose freezes up during the interview, and Sage steps in to save her.
While Megan helps Caryn pack, Caryn tells her that she pitched Megan's "article" to her boss, who loved it. Megan says that she's not the kind of person who sells out her employers and friends, and Caryn says that she doesn't even know her anymore. Hey, remember when this happened to Dan Humphrey? Um, last night? The twins get home, and Rose is sad to see a note on her book from Megan reminding her that her first final is tomorrow. Sage goes to sleep while Rose attempts to stay up and finish her reading. The next morning, Caryn attempts to sneak out without saying goodbye; the girls make up. Megan sits down with Laurel and tells her that she needs to get the girls to focus better. Laurel says that she hopes her initial impression of Megan was the right one, and the ladies eat chocolates together. Rose stares blankly at a notepad when it is revealed that the essay question for her final involves the novel's ending, which she didn't read. Will absolves Megan of blame for his job loss, telling her that he quit his job. He tells her he's been playing it safe, and he plans to stop that. She begins to babble about helping with his resume until her shuts her up with a kiss. Raise your hand if you've made up with all of the Smith daughters. Yes, Will, that's you.
Next week: Megan and Will have "the talk"
Well, I must say I'm a little surprised that Will and Megan got together so quickly, but they do have good chemistry together. I had forgotten about Lucy Kate Hale's stint on American Juniors - she really does have a lovely voice. Thoughts?

Not surprised about Will and Megan. The attraction has been there since the beginning. It was Megan who pulled back (with her "not in a datey place"), and encouraged Will to hang out with her sister. In Will's defense, he and Lily were never serious. Can't wait for next week!
Love Will and Megan! I'm so glad the writers are moving in that direction. They do have chemistry. I was clapping when he kissed her!!!
Privileged is one of very few of my must see TV shows this season - a CW show with heart; what a rarity. So glad Will and Meagan got together -that boy is seriously hot!! Can't wait for next week!!!
I just watched the entire season in two nights. I don't love it. Megan really bothers me. She's a ditz one minute and a fountain of wisdom the next. She's totally wrapped up in herself and oblivious to the feelings of others - the way she just shrugged off Will's dilemma like it was no big deal...her inappropriate public scenes with Lily...the way she uses Charlie... She's a very unsympathetic character, and it's a pity because I like everything else about the show. With regard to Charlie, does anyone else get a Marty vibe?
Best Kiss EVER!
I loved that Will took a big step by kissing Megan, but I also got worried that it was too soon; however, it appears by next week's scenes, that he wants things to remain casual. So, hopefully, there will be more conflict yet to come.

I love the ending and it is one'f the best of the 'walking slowly towards the girl and planting a kiss' scenes. Due evidently to the strong chemistry between Will & Megan.
my only negative comment on the kiss was that the camera was SO CLOSE to their faces! Why not give the lovers a little breathing space?
Rose and Sage (at the premiere)...yikes! Not a good look for them. Fire that stylist gals.
Rose has a gorgeous voice. I thought maybe she wasn't the real singer. Anyone have any ideas? Awesome if she is. Quite talented.
I didn't think I would be as excited about the kiss as I was, since I had still been on the fence with Charlie vs Will. But I have to say, I almost let my inner 13 year old out to squeal.
I really liked how Sage still had Rose's back at the red carpet. They set up of Sage off in the background while Rose was getting all the attention, made it seem like there would be major conflict coming up, but the show chose to zig before it zagged. The relationship between these two sisters is what keeps Sage human, and I'm glad the show continues to honor it.
