'Gossip Girl': "Twins Find Me"

Blakelively8_gossipgirl_s1_240 On last week's deliciously incestariffic Nairtini of an episode of Gossip Girl, the unthinkable happened: Serena Van Der Woodsen Bass Etc suddenly remembered that she was way, way out of Dan Humphrey's league. And told him so. Cleavage was involved. Awesomeness ensued.

OMFG FASHION WEEK this is the most exciting thing that has ever happened. Blair and Eleanor plan the Waldorf show, and Blair reveals her plan to win back the Headbands by seating them in the second row. She, as always, will be backstage with her frenemy Serena. The Humphreys talk about poor people stuff, and Jenny is wearing cat-eye liquid liner. Because, you know, you're only 14 once. Dan frets that the entire lit department of Dartmouth - his former love! - has been poached by Yale - the future school of his other former love! And now he needs to apply to Yale. Dan's getting support from Noah Shapiro. Remember him? The editor of the Paris Review who was so incredibly interested in the short stories that not-McInerney sent him? No? Well then, these five minutes of exposition are for you. Jenny makes a weird face and posits some horrible lie about why she's not entering Constance/St. Jude's with him; as soon as he walks through those doors, she's in a cab to the Waldorf Atelier.

Kellyrutherford8_gossipgirl_s1_240 The new Mrs. Bass gets an tour from Bex (remember her?) of her new art collection in one of the foyers, while Serena comes prancing down the stairs trailing starlight and moonbeams and what-have-you. Apparently she has been getting close to socialite Poppy Lifton. Oh good lord, Lily modeled for a tasteful Mapplethorpe in her prime (not like she isn't still in her prime, because come on.) Serena states that this makes Lily unequivocally the coolest mom on the UES, and...wasn't she before? But I digress. Because it is a different time of day for everyone on this show at all times, Chuck and Blair are at school, kvetching about Blair's loss of standing. Blair's bestowal of second-row tickets on the Headbands earns her precisely .07 seconds of adoration before crazy wee Hazel notices that Serena is on the parties page of Women's Wear Daily. (Amazing attention to detail, because who reads WWD when it ISN'T fashion week?) Serena strolls up, blissfully unaware at the ruckus she is causing, and looking quizzically at Blair when B screeches something at her about "her fans" and flounces off stage left.

Meanwhile, in those echelons of academia that still have leaded crystal decanters of scotch on their wooden desks, Noah Shapiro tells Dan straight up that he sucks. Dan is flummoxed, because he is a Humphrey, and has been told what a wonderment he is to all and sundry since that midwife birthed him in a bathtub 17 long years ago. Noah tells him to write something dangerous, to get out of his comfort zone. He needs Chuck Bass! He trots over to tell Chuck to help him out of his comfort zone. Chuck, eyebrows a-blazin', asks him quite straightforwardly if he is gay. Heh. Back at the Waldorf Atelier, Laurel and Eleanor bemoan their lack of A-list RSVPs, and you know Little J flings around that photo from WWD with a quickness that would make your head spin. Blair has a complete meltdown when she finds that Jenny has changed her seating chart. And guess who Lil J has placed in the front row? (I love the parallel structure here, by the way. Blair is being replaced in the only two roles she feels comfortable in - Queen B and daughter - by lithe, leggy blondes, while her scheming is leaving her alone with nobody but Chuck, the one person she actually wants, and the one person she will never turn to again.) Eleanor tells Blair that Jenny is on "independent study", and Blair pinpoints all of that anger and self-loathing into a laser beam pointed directly at Jenny's secondhand Prada loafers.

Edwestwick8_gossipgirl_s1_240 Red lights glow as a glowering Chuck Bass pushes a tray of shots at a bewildered and be-cardiganed Humphrey. He hands Dan, what, a tab of E? A Viagra? A B-12 to dull the next morning's hangover? Only Chuck and his pharmacist know for sure. Back Chez Van der Bass, Serena and Lily dine with Poppy and ohhhh, Tamara Feldman's too old for this part, isn't she? Or is she supposed to be, like, some sort of socialite Big Sister sponsor? Serena's Tinsley Mortimer or something? Serena tells her mom that she feels uncomfortable ditching Blair backstage; Poppy offers up an extra pass to the Marc Jacobs aftershow for Blair to cushion the blow. Lily excuses herself to take a call from her art buyer about the Mapplethorpe photo, and is devastated to find that she's been outbid. Oh, it better be Rufus.

Leightonmeester8_gossipgirl_s1_240 Blair twinkles at Rufus while she delivers chicken soup for Jenny's "cold", or whatever has been keeping her from school lately. Rufus has learned something! And tells Blair that he knows she doesn't have Jenny's best interests at heart. Drunk, high, and happy, Dan babbles in the back of the Bass limo about a sex club? Behind a White Castle? He asks Chuck how he knows so many twins and Chuck shrugs "twins find me." Heh. Chuck, irritated with Dan already, tosses Dan barefoot and notebookless out into the street. Rufus and Blair arrive at the atelier to bust Jenny, who begs for time to finish a dress for Eleanor. The next morning, or later that night, or next week, because who the hell knows when there are waffles being served in the Humphrey house, Rufus and Jenny spar over breakfast food. (Jenny's wearing a mega-cute Tarina Tarantino Barbie necklace, by the way, that I covet greatly.) Jenny is supposed to meet with the headmistress today, Saturday. Serena arrives Chez Waldorf to invite Blair to the Marc afterparty, but Blair goes off on her, and Serena does that crazy-eyed superior thing that she did last week, and tells Blair that she will make sure that Eleanor's front row is empty. Or maybe she'll go. Which would be worse?

Noah Shapiro spits on Dan's new Chuck-adjacent story ("Charlie Trout?" YES.) and basically tells Dan that he would care if the story were about Chuck instead of Dan's lame ass. Dan's cheekbones are horrified, and Noah tells him that he's judging his characters, and that's why he'll always be a failure as a writer. Dan learns that he needs to learn Chuck's "secret." Bex tells Lily that it was Bart who secretly bought the Mapplethorpe - awwww - and Lily is vaguely horrified that Bart knew about her nudie past. At Bryant Park, Serena arrives to find that Blair had her placed in the back row. Eleanor appears to twinkle at Jenny and snap angrily at Blair for her stunt with Serena's seat. Blair vows vengeance on Jenny, and attempts to screw up Jenny's task of getting the prepped models to the runway. Chuck calls his dad to ask if he wants to meet for a drink, and his dad rebuffs him - a stalky Dan overhears and challenges Chuck to outdo himself from the previous night. Chuck propositions a girl who he thinks is a hooker, and when her boyfriend gets in Chuck's face, Dan levels him with a Nate Archibald-style punch.

Matthewsettle8_gossipgirl_s1_240 Rufus arrives at the loft to find no daughter, and a voice mail from Headmistress Queller saying that the situation with Jenny has gotten "out of control." OMFG Michael Kors and recapper idol Tinsley Mortimer are at the Waldorf show. Jenny arrives backstage to find that Blair has sent the models home. Fortunately, Jenny is now a Queen B-level schemer, and she pulls Serena and cohort backstage to walk in the show. Serena worries about Blair's feelings and Poppy tells Serena that she needs to stop damping down her sparkle for Blair's benefit. (She was doing it for Dan! She's doing it for Blair!) Oh, dear lord, Chuck and Dan are in jail. But it was worth it, because Chuck is grateful enough for Dan's friendship that he opens up about his relationship with his father, and reveals that his mother died in childbirth. Who dies in childbirth in the 1990s?! Chuck's lawyer arrives, and he tells Dan that he will try to get him released into his lawyer's custody. But when he gets his possessions back, he finds Dan's notes with Noah's exhortation to find out Chuck's secrets.

Bart arrives home to a very loving Lily, who he presents with a gorgeous emerald necklace which was...not what she was expecting. She asks him where the Mapplethorpe is and he tells her that he bought the photo to prevent anyone from ever seeing it. She wonders how he even knew, and learns that he had an investigator look into her past. Bart gives Lily a copy of his dossier on her, which includes something that she does not want her children to find out. Ooh, new mystery! Chuck confronts a still-jailed Dan, with tears welling in his eyes. Backstage, Blair gives Serena her dress with an evil twinkle in her eye, and Serena walks with cleavage pushed up to her chin in a not-Eleanor-Waldorf-design.  The dress is actually pretty spectacular - a gorgeous emerald green with sort of a bubble tutu hem and fabulous bow-strap detailing. Oh, shut up, it's a Jenny Humphrey original.

Taylormomsen8_gossipgirl_s1_240 Jenny asks Blair why she won't leave her alone when Jenny ceded school to her; when she realizes that this is all about Serena, Jenny points out to Blair that the two are more alike than she realizes. Blair and Jenny both have to work so hard, every second, for everything they get. Serena is just so beautiful and so...simple, in a way, that she just lets things come to her. Eleanor confronts Jenny about her "Eve Harrington Ways" until Laurel runs up exclaiming that Andre Leon Talley loved the finale dress. ALT! Missing Marc Jacobs for Eleanor Waldorf! Jenny asks Eleanor to take credit for the dress, and Blair jumps in to back Jenny up. Rufus shows up, screaming, outside, and Jenny tells the door girl not to let him in.

Noah Shapiro bails Dan out of jail, and we learn that the charges were dropped against him. Dan tells Noah he's not comfortable using people for his art. Eleanor toasts Jenny after the show, and everyone raises a glass to her - even Blair - while Rufus watches in the background. Blair approaches Serena backstage to apologize, and Serena tells her to get over it, and that she's "tired of holding herself back to not outshine" Blair. Oh, this friendship with Poppy is going to flame out spectacularly. Rufus tells Jenny that she's grounded for life. Jenny tells Rufus that she told the headmistress that she's never going back to school.

Next week: college previews! If they're anything like mine people are going to get druuuuuunk.

Ok, this show gets increasingly more awesome each week. Even with no Nate, and Chuck showing a distressing amount of emotion, the evolutions of Serena and Jenny are fascinating and more importantly, fun to watch. But what do you all think?

Love it!

I thought Blair was bad last week, but this week tops the cake in my book. I can't believe that she would be so selfish that she would jeopardize her mom's career to make a point. Blair acts like the stocks aren't plummeting and that her mom has a firm grip in fashion. Maybe she should really understand the fashion mantra of "One minute your in, and the next you are out."

Is it just me or was Dan being very ungrateful to Shapiro after the man sprung him out of jail. I am so sick of him to the point that he makes me puke at times. Chuck Bass stole this episode and Ed Westwick deserves an Emmy and I hope he goes and does bigger and better things after this show. Jenny's speech to Blair was so pathetic, because while they do both have to work hard to achieve what they want, Jenny has to realize that she can't ever achieve anything if she is constantly worried about what people think about her. "I wanted you to like me, Blair. I wanted to be your friend..."? Please! And Bart Bass not only creeps me out, but he also pisses me off. Is hiring private detectives to find out your spouses past the reason why we are in the economic trap that we are in now? He should be trying to make sure Chuck doesn't send himself to an early grave. Rufus is just outrageous this week. Even though Jenny is out of control, can't he see where she gets it from? End rant... lol.

I'm on Team Blair all the way I can understand why she is so upset. S dumped her for a socialite and then acts like she does not even know B, or that she is better than B. I can't wait for the episode where her socialite friends dump her and she is all alone.

Oh and some people say that B never does anything for S but it is the other way around. Blair helped get rid of Georgina while S never has time to help Blair.

I do love this show and I hope its ratings eventually show how awesome it is...

I'm a little sad there was no Nate last night (if not the most interesting character, he's certainly nice to look at); NOT sad there was no Vanessa. And where was Eric - shouldn't the gay boy be at Fashion Week? (stereotypical maybe, but it would have made sense that Jenny might have him around backstage for support)
I was somewhat shocked that Blair would try to derail her mom's show just to get back at Jenny and Serena, but I see now - more than before, that she operates purely on impulse.

I'm not sure what I want from this new Serena direction. Everything suggests that she'll lord it over Blair and everyone for a little while and then get her comeuppance... But I don't like the thought of that. I like S with a backbone and less whine. The characters always talked about the way Serena used to be - so it's time we get to see it. I have a feeling she might be awesome.
However, I do quibble with her telling Blair that she has *always* been thinking of her feelings. I'm pretty sure she was not thinking of Blair's feelings while she was having that tryst with Nate...

I also enjoyed the idea of Dan and Chuck becoming 'friends' (because Chuck is awesome) and was disappointed that ended so quickly. (Chuck revealed himself a little too easily, but it's obvious he's starved for someone to care about him).
Particularly after last week, I don't see why the writers would want Dan even more alienated AND making an enemy of Chuck... What to do with Dan?

And is Rufus the most ineffectual parent ever? Or is it he just doesn't know how to handle a girl?
Jenny is very interesting; sometimes I'm with her and sometimes she's annoying, but I find her an intriguing character nonetheless.

Yay, no Vanessa!

"I like S with a backbone and less whine. The characters always talked about the way Serena used to be - so it's time we get to see it. I have a feeling she might be awesome."
RIGHT ON VARRIS!

I feel bad for Blair, because Eleanor manages to exclude her from the fashion world, but she doesn't even realize that she's breaking her daughter's heart. Last season was another example when Eleanor had Serena model for her and brushed off Blair.

Jenny is smart and fits in the fashion industry perfectly. She's creative, quick with ideas, handling a crisis, respectful to the right people (unlike her brother), hard worker, and is able to fight for herself. Most importantly, she acknowledged that Blair has to work hard to get achieve what she wants and was dead on about how everything comes so easily for Serena.

Dan is a total idiot. He needs to pay attention to how Jenny works hard. Shame on him for not respecting to Noah who is experienced in writing. Dan had the nerve to use Noah as his one call. The most idiotic thing he did in last night's episode- leaving his notes about Chuck- excuse me Charlie Trout- in his wallet.

I have an issue with their school. The school never contacted Rufus about Jenny not going to school. He had to find out from Blair that she missed ten days. At my school the parent or guardian is required to call the school each day their child is absent. If the parent/guardian doesn't call a truency officer shows up. Since this is a private school you would think they would be more stricter.

Bart is creeping me out. What is Lily's secret? I'm concerned about her.

Carly | Sep 30, 2008 12:35:37 PM | #

Great eppy! While it is shortsighted of Blair (to say the least) to potentially ruin her mother's business, I think it fits with Blair's personality of acting or lashing out without thinking about repercussions. Plus, her mother has always seemed to favor Serena over her, and now she is also fawning over Jenny.

And I agree that while Serena has been a good friend to Blair, Blair is no slouch either. She helped her with Georgina, forgave S for sleeping with Nate, and didn't judge her when S told her she killed somebody. I never got the impression that Serena was "hiding her light", but maybe just being considerate to her best friend's feelings.

And Dan is such a tool. First, "Charlie Trout" -- are you kidding me?? That's the best he's got?? Secondly, the mentor didn't tell him he had to exploit or use people to improve his writing, just that he needed to get out of his comfort zone. Dan is the idiot who decided to go see Chuck, pump him for information and try to turn it into a story about Chuck. That's not really getting out a comfort zone, that is acting like a cheesy tabloid/expose' journalist.

Also, just curious for those that think Rufus is ineffectual, what do you think Rufus should do to Jenny?

Allie | Sep 30, 2008 1:13:03 PM | #

Hi Allie, honestly, I don't have a lot of advice for poor Rufus. If this were reality, it would depend on the relationship of each parent and each child to determine what tact to take.
But clearly, the things Rufus has been saying to Little J has been having little effect. She goes out and does what she wants when she wants it bad enough....
But Ok, since I'm not the target demographic (I'm old enough to actually have a 15 year old child!) maybe I get caught up in things that aren't really important to the show. And being a TV show about mostly fabulous people, we can't get too deep with stuff like this...
But I was reading another blog and someone there commented that they wanted to pop Jenny in the mouth for being such a disrespectful brat.
Basically, that's how I feel even though I definitely wouldn't recommend that kind of punishment. But Rufus needs to do something that proves he means business - threaten to send her to boarding school or to her mom or just kick her out period! After reasoning doesn't work, then the consequences of disobedience need to be bad enough to be a deterrent.

I haven't read the books, but I do know that in the books Jenny does get kicked out of school and goes to another school. This kicks off The It Girl series of books. So perhaps the show is looking in this direction... Though even with it's tremendous buzz, I don't think GG is doing well enough to warrant a spin-off.

Varris | Sep 30, 2008 2:31:08 PM | #

Ok I am going to take up for Vanessa again, but then I saw Varris and Allie's (Wassup, Allie?!) post about Rufus and had to respond to that instead. While I agree with Varris about Rufus needing to do something about Jenny, but I have to say that its his fault that she is as wild as she is now. In the books, Jenny was suspended for appearing on Page Six doing something that I can't recall, but that was Jenny's plan all along was to get kicked out and be sent to boarding school so she could come back a la Serena. Also, Jenny isn't as psychotic about being popular in the books as she is in the TV show and the parents are rarely in attendance in the books, especially Rufus who is a slob and has been poet in the books. He lets the kids do whatever. But on the show, I think its his fault in that he is just as psychotic about laying the smackdown on Jenny as she is about climbing the social ladder, so I think Rufus is so much like his daughter that he doesn't see it, and that's why they both clash the way they do. Besides, Carly made a great point about Constance Billiard not calling Rufus from gate. I think that it has something to do with Jenny being a nobody in society and I bet that if it had of been Blair or Serena then their parents' phones would have been ringing off the hook.

Now onto Blair: I don't care how much I love Blair, but she was so in the wrong and I can't believe that anyone would take up for her. Yes, she has helped Serena in the past with Georgina and what not, but if you have beef with someone you DO NOT take it out on them at your mom's life or death fashion show. Eleanor's fashion show was do or die to her career and for Blair to act the way she did is not acceptable. Yes, Eleanor can be condescending to Blair, but Blair is not your Lifetime movie of the week daughter. Social Class comes first to her then maybe her mother's love. But if her mom is considered last week's news then she won't have to worry about trying to win back the Headbands (I love that name lol), she would be trying to make sure that she isn't the biggest social pariah since Dan Humphrey.

GO Vanessa!!!!!!

Mark O. Estes | Sep 30, 2008 3:49:26 PM | #

Sorry for the double post, but I have one more thing to say about Blair, Eleanor, and Serena. It wasn't like Serena didn't have Blair's good intentions at hand, but just about everyone around them was telling Serena to wake up and for Blair to grow up. Eleanor even had Blair do the seating chart, but if you think about that seating chart it was more to Blair's benefit rather than Eleanor's. If my mom was having trouble keeping her name in the fashion world, I would do everything in my power to make sure that her fashion show was the must see event of Fashion Week. All the energy that Blair had to sabotage her own mother's fashion show, she could have used on getting people to come to Eleanor's show from Marc Jacobs event. Serena was just a pawn and a target in the whole scheme and I don't think she should be blamed for being herself. I bet the only reason why she started hanging out with Poppy is because Blair was probably giving her grief about the Headbands attention span swaying to Serena and not Blair Ok that's it for today.

serena is a dimwitted blonde and is USELESS in every meaning of the word. She consistently acts as if she doesn't realize that her actions result in consequences. and blair is always bailing serena out - see first season when blair says to serena before she leaves for italy "how will you be without your best friend here to bail you out of trouble". serena is constantly seduced by manipulative people (ie: georgina sparks). she can be actually very irritating to watch cause she is so dumb.

blair on the other hand is smart, conniving and captivating.

that being said, im on no one's side but the writers need to develop serena's character in one direction because at the moment, its like she has a split personality disorder wavering between sweet and bitchy.

Who dies in childbirth now in the US? Quite a few people, actually. The US has one of the highest infant mortality and mother mortality rates among Western nations.

It's sad, actually, and generally preventable, which gives Master Bass' story added pathos.

I liked this ep far better than the last, actually. I liked that S stood up to B like she stood up to Dan last week. I agree with g-girl, though, that Serena needs to get a definite personality. The swings are way too wild without a hint of a drug problem to help justify them.

I also agree with Mark's comments about B's selfishness. The hell? That girl needs to find a reliable security blanket. I feel for her poor-little-rich-girl situation, but that understanding has its limits ...

Dan needs a purpose. I like his character a lot, but he's been cut free of all of his usual moorings and this needs to stop soon.

Where was Vanessa? Where was Nate? Where's their romance going?

What's Lily's secret? Three guesses it has something to do with Rufus!

Jenny was admirable throughout most of the ep until the end when she blew off her father. Obviously she hasn't learned a thing from last year's wanna-queen-bee fiasco.

She needs her father's support and she could get it, if she spoke to him with respect. After her attitude, I, personally, hope that her fashion dreams blow up in her face.

This season's looking good!

Berlin | Oct 2, 2008 7:26:45 PM | #

okay yall listen up, g'zz!

Point 1: the school attendence thang--ummm, hi? remember when g delivered champagne to school and no alarm bells went off. no one is EVER in class. fights break out. bitches verbally through-down. that school isn't concerned with its students. S broke into the school, almost got someone killed, and she was still able to be bought back in for the 2nd time! pay attention, folks.

Point 2: Blair is so rejected by her mom she doesn't care what the hell happens to her career. or, she's lashing out for attention/if her mom's career goes down the toilet then she and blair will have more quality time.

Point 3: serena isn't an airhead. she is confused. she used to be this crazy party wild child but tried to turn to the dark side. she is sick of trying to make everybody else happy and inadvertantly making herself miserable. she had to be bad for blair and georgina and errybody else (her mom included!) to preserve her reputation. she had to be perfect flawless sunshine cakes for dan, who broke her heart anyway. now she is pissed as hell and is all, my way or f*** off.

Point 4: Rufus is naturally a live-and-let-live, hippy dippy trippy peace and love rocker kinda guy. also, jenny is usually a perfect little angel. also, his wife left him. also, the love of his life married some old fart--uh i mean bart. so give him some slack if it's taking him a while to deal with jenny's behavior, damnit!

Point 5: dan is an uber tool.

Point 6: chuckles isn't so chuckley. is dad is a fart. his mommy died. the only person he ever loved is being a bitch to him. i wish he knew better than to trust an uber tool like that damn dirty dan.

Point 7: eww vanessa.
the end!

vicious circle | Oct 4, 2008 11:55:56 AM | #

opp, sorry ladies and gents! dark side should be good side carry on then, wot wot!

vicious circle | Oct 4, 2008 11:58:03 AM | #

Um... I don't get it. While Silver, oops I am sorry, Vicious Circle, made some good 'points' I still disagree with some of them, but its not just that I just wish people would stop and look at Blair for being the unstable, childish, insecure little girl that she is. She is playing dress up in her Audrey Hepburn inspired collection and doesn't have reality in her grasp at all. I hate comparing the show to the books, but hell Book Blair (lol) was a bitch, but a bitch with common sense and would have never went the route TV Blair is going. Just saying. I loved Season One Blair, but this season she is killing me slowly and I hate. But VC Dan is more than an uber tool, he is just irrelevant.

And GO VANESSA!!!!

Mark O. Estes | Oct 4, 2008 5:47:29 PM | #

Most all of what I wanted to say has been said. I started on Serena's side because who cares if she has a new friend but ended up on Blair's because that final speech was mean.

I loved Chuck and Dan. Dan is such an idiot.

Wow Lily and Serena look so much alike in those pictures. I'd noticed the resemblence on the show but it's really obvious here. The writers do a good job too of making the characters resemble each other in personality as a believable mother/daughter pair. And word about Lily being out of her prime. WTF? That's like the awkward Botox comment from last year. I love Lily. I think she's the only character on the show that I love every week. It's too bad she's tied to lousy Rufus. I also always love Serena and Chuck with her. They're so much more normal in family scenes.

As for Jenny- Jenny is 15. This idea that she's going wild and Rufus is helpless and it's not his fault is insane to me. This didn't come out of nowhere. He obviously doesn't keep close track of her (after the year she had last year he disappeared for how long over the summer?), they don't talk, there's no accountability between them. Rufus needs to set some rules he can enforce, then enforce them and stop the blustering and talk to the girl. There are options that are a medium between a school that doesn't fit her goals and dropping out of school. I hate Rufus and I hate this 'no way but this way' approach. She's not an adult but she's not a child.

Michelle | Oct 6, 2008 3:49:32 PM | #

I love that all of the Serena fans are calling this the new Serena and making excuses for her behaviour. She has slept with her bestfriends boyfriend, deserted her bestfriend without explanation when her bestfriend needed her, come back to school and tried to blow it all off like she did nothing wrong, acted like she had no idea the relationship Blair and her mother had so she could be in a photo shoot and now a fashion show....lied to her boyfriend and told everyone else the truth, and almost got everyone expelled...meanwhile blair retaliated, however ended up forgiving Serena of everything, helped to get everyone out of the expulsion problem, got rid of Georgina, and eventually gave Jenny credit at the end of the fashion show so that her horrendous mother would not fire her. Yes she kicked anyones teeth in that has crossed her or tried to take away everything she has worked for-who wouldn't, and yes she slept with her EX-boyfriends bestfriend-at least they were broken up at the time. The only person I can understand being a little mad at her, might be Chuck, however he is a known womanizer and ruined what was to be her debutante ball over and unfounded jealousy.....so yes, this is not the new serena, its the same ole Serena and thankfully the same old Blair.....love her!
