Mariolopez_americasbestdancecrew2_2 No, I didn't misspell the title. It's 80's night on America's Best Dance Crew as the remaining three crews fight it out to make it to the finals. One must go home and I'm already feeling ill just thinking about it.

Spoiles

Host Mario Lopez, who sadly isn't dressed in period garb (Where are your Hammer Pants, Slater?), let's us know that each crew will do two numbers - the first round being without knowledge of who automatically advances.

Backstage correspondent Layla Kayleigh tells the crews that their first task will be to not only recreate a party dance from the 80's, but do so while performing a physical challenge. Where's Marc Summers when you need him?

Supercr3w
Challenge: Perform dance with only four feet on the ground
Chosen Dance: The Humpty Dance

The Humpty Hump wasn't the only dance they did - they packed quite a few moves into it and ingeniously performed their physical challenge (a totem pole effect with two guys on the shoulders of another set and the other two on the floor with their feet in the air). Ah...the Robocop into the Running Man into a rippled breaking sequence. Brilliant! Shane points out that they did the Humpty Dance four different ways and slo-mos the part where one Cr3w member does one-handed hops on another's chest while Lil' Mama slo-mos the breaking ripple. JC gives props to their creativity. Also, I loved their costumes - lime green tracksuits with white fuzzy Kangols and fat gold chains. Get some.

Sorealcru SoReal Cru
Challenge: A chain reaction
Chosen Dance: The Kid 'N' Play

Oh my. One guy is wearing an acid wash denim jumpsuit with giant sunglasses and a cap with the brim flipped up. This is why 80's fashion was so wrong. But great costumes all around. They start out with a Bell Biv DeVoe "Poison" section which was cool. Their ripple doing the Kid 'N' Play was very well done. And they even threw the Roger Rabbit in at the end. JC points out that one of the guys was off during one of the parts, which was true though he may have pointed out the wrong guy. Shane's only criticism is that it didn't have enough energy through the whole routine. It wasn't the most difficult number but it was a lot of fun.

Fanny Pak
Challenge: Dancing horizontally
Chosen Dance: The Vanilla Ice

Seeing as the Pak is already entrenched in the 80's, it's no surprise that their number is chock-full of goodness. Glenda throws down a wicked handstand sequence in the middle and they did their challenge to perfection, ending with pictures of their own mothers from the 80's pulled out of their packs. Phil even played Vanilla Ice during the sequence. As JC said, "Word to your mother, kids." He gives props to Glenda by slo-moing her scissor-kicks/hand hops sequence. Nothing but love from the judges.

Back from the break and in their second costumes, Mario addresses the three crews. Only one has earned an automatic pass to next week. The first crew in the bottom is Fanny Pak. And the group that is safe is...SoReal Cru. Wow. I'm kind of shocked. Not that I don't love all three but...wow. Craziness.

The second number's challenge is to recreate scenes from a classic dance movie. They won't be copying it per se, they're updating it. If any of these crews gets the wrong film, they're screwed.

SoReal Cru
Movie Scene: Turbo dancing with the broom from Breakin'

Now I know why the first number wasn't as indepth as I'd expect. This one had all kinds of awesome in it. The beginning was dope - they created a bunch of different illusions using two large mirrors. Their isolations were great, there was a lot of creativity, and, most importantly, they were together. They definitely proved they belong in the final. Postive feedback from all the judges though JC wasn't as enamored as Shane and Lil' Mama.

Ah...backstage interview with The Pak and The Cr3w. Must fast forward. Hurts too much.

The Bottom Two
Supercr3w 1. Supercr3w
Movie Scene: The Prom from Footloose

This was not an easy scene to do but they came with it. There was a lot of cool moments in there, lots of acrobatics - so many I can't even describe them. There was an assisted flip section and the end was dope. In three pairs, one guy went over the back then kind of threw the other into a head spin. Genius.

2. Fanny Pak
Movie Scene: The audition from Flashdance

Beau had never done pirouettes before so he got a crash course in order to do this number. What's awesome is how three of the crew dressed up like Shane, Lil' Mama and JC. High-larious. And to Beau's credit, he nailed the double turn. The whole concept was great and they ended with the "judges" holding up word balloons - "Y'all smashed it" from Faux Shane, "10-10-10 Shabam" from Faux Lil' Mama, and "It wasn't clean" which turned into "You are all true artists" from Faux JC.

Shane told Supercr3w that no matter what happens tonight that they represented for all b-boys fantastically. Argh. Declarations of consolation are never a good sign. He slo-mos the fantastic section by Do-Knock and RJ that has assisted flips and ends with Do-Knock throwing a butterfly kick off RJ's back. Lil' Mama lauded Fanny Pak's creativity and slo-moed two different sections.

JC then says he doesn't think SoReal out-danced these two and is confused that they're in the bottom. Wow. He extols both of their virtues and thanks them for bringing their best every week. JC then compliments Supercr3w's creativity and Fanny Pak's inclusion of technical technique.

Ugh. I'm totally not looking forward to the results. This is as bad as when ASIID and Supercr3w had to battle each other.

Fannypak After a commercial break and entirely too much dead air, Supercr3w is moving on to the finals. Wow. I'm going to miss Fanny Pak, I really am. I feel kind of nauseous. The judges and audience give The Pak a standing ovation. The tears are free-flowing as the crew watches their farewell package. They group hug as the crowd chants their name.

I'm a little stunned and I probably would've been whichever way it went. Much respect to all three crews. Should the results have been different? Do you think any of the crews should've had a different movie scene to recreate? Any other thoughts?

I was very disappointed that Fanny didn't make it; I've been cheering for them since auditions.

I agree that SoReal couldn't have outdanced SuperCr3w and Fanny. I was really anticipating a SuperPak finale, since they are, in my opinion, the best of the bunch. Like the judges said, SuperCr3w was the most athletic; FannyPak was the most creative.

What I find extremely ironic is from the beginning, Lil' Mama compared Fanny Pak to Kaba Modern of Season 1 [also my favorite team of that season], and they finished 3rd as well. o___o

Well, SoReal Cru hasn't ever been in the bottom 2, so America will most likely vote them again... as ABDC.

I was so shocked that the bottom two were the best of the whole season. I'm not a big fan of SoReal Cru - actually I don't like them at all. If SoRealCru ends up winning this whole ABDC shindig, then dear god let's hope there's a chance for ABDC 3.

GO SUPERCR3W!!!

NOOOOOOOO I'm Still in Denial NOOOOOO! Fannypak come back!!! Supercrew might pull it out, Jabbawokees were in the bottom two before they went on to the final as well.

This is just like last year when somehow Status Quo snuck into the finals even though they weren't nearly the crew that Kabba Modern or Jabbawockeez. It shoulda been a SuperPak finale.

Go Supercr3w!

that was freakin' ridiculous!!

how the hell did we get season one all over again??

i'm a well-do***ented super cr3w fan...but, fanny pak was MUCH better during the elimination dance-off!! the ONLY way super cr3w would be in the finals was if they counted BOTH dances, cuz cr3w m***acred pak in the first round.

but, so real...

to quote li'l mama "america, are you SERIOUS?!"

even fanny pak told us to vote for super cr3w!!!

d.d.d. cru

r.i.p. pak

l.l. cr3w

don't understand why the judges extol the virtues of Fanny Pak all season and then eliminate them; this is a repeat of last season where clearly the best crew is declared #3 (i.e., Kaba Modern)

I actually do like all 3 crews but I wanted a SuperPak finale. I didnt realize how big SoReal's fans base was, because the studio crowd is always pro Super and Fanny. After last week's "Get Ur Freak On", arguably the best routine of the whole season, and the heaps of praise they got for it AND the comments they gave after the dance-off last night, I really thought the judges would choose Fanny Pak. They must really love Supercr3w to save them 3 times now. I hope the finale is good but I am disappointed just like last season when Kaba was eliminated.

so real cru does not deserve to be in the final. They may not be bad but they are certainly not the best. They don't give any performances nearly as memorable or proving of their talent and potential as SuperCr3w or Fanny Pak. In fact, they pretty much played it safe this whole time, and I just don't get who this m***ive fan base is that is voting for them.

I haven't met a person up close who admits to liking them.

I also hate that so real cru girl whining about her parents not supporting her. If they didn't, they why would they be sitting there smiling in the audience, hm? What a joke sob story. What about the Boogie Bots fellow with the dad in the coma? why not focus on THAT?

What is a america thinking... Fanny Pak is better than So Real Cru. Why are they still there. The judges and America should have done something bout them long time ago. I am definitely voting for SuperCr3W even though they are not my favorite. That girl(Whinner) on so real cru is full of it. What about the girl that lives in her car on Fanny Pak? At least ms. whinner has a house to go home to.
