'Big Brother 10' The fallout

Memphis The great thing about shows like Big Brother 10 is that no matter how much the people involved want to rewrite history, we've got evidence to the contrary. It's kind of beautiful, really.

But first, we must review! The HGs swung on vines into walls and pegged each other with dye filled water balloons, but the HoH winner was fuzzier then one might think. Dan and Ollie cut the strangest and perhaps stupidest deal ever, with Dan promising to protect Ollie and Michelle, let Ollie nominate a HG for elimination and have full control over any veto choice that might be necessary. Ollie exercised his nomination choice by telling Dan to put up Memphis, who he was in a secret alliance with. Which is when Dan confessed in the DR that his plan might backfire on him. Thanks for joining the rest of us, Dan!

So, Memphis and Jerry are on the block, which makes Ollie thrilled since, as he says "My hands are clean!" Memphis is less then thrilled and Jerry is a little worried. Dan tries to rationalize that the nomination choices are actual helpful because no one would ever think that an HoH would nominate the person they are in a secret alliance with. And there's a reason for that Dan - it's a dumb move.

After the nomination ceremony, Memphis comes up to the HoH room. Dan looks at him and asks if he is putting on an act or if he is really pissed and Memphis tells him it's real. I have to laugh out loud as Dan shows how clueless he is by saying "Well, I need you to keep it up in public" and Memphis says "I will. Because I REALLY am Pi$$ed!"

Dan talks to Keesha about how Memphis is nervous and Keesha counters "he should be", a sentiment Renny agrees with. She also figures that the deal was Ollie got to pick a nominee, and that he picked Memphis, as well as securing safety for himself and Michelle. Dan says he won't confirm or deny, but adds "You're a very smart lady", to make it clear that she is right. Why not just tell her?

He does tell them that if the PoV is used this week he won't put either of them up. Renny tells him that he better not, otherwise she will make him miserable. He tries to assure her that the decisions he's made this week were done with the best intentions towards their group, but Renny basically tells him to shut up, adding that actions speak louder then words. And cliche's are the loudest of all!  Meanwhile, Ollie tells Jerry abut the deal he made with Dan. Ollie is still jubilant, but Jerry says he doesn't trust Dan to keep his word. Ollie foreshadows that if Dan double crosses him, all hell will be unleashed upon him. Like Judas?

All the HGs are asked to gather in the LR, where they are told that America has voted on one of them getting a phone call and they will find out who tomorrow. Michelle immediately goes to cry and Renny comforts her. Jerry also cries, confessing that in 54 years, this is the longest he and his wife have ever been apart. Proving the BB editors think we have no attention spans, the edit is clipped by a phone ringing. It's tomorrow!

A few of the HGs gather around the phone that has appeared in the LR and stare at it. Michelle asks several times "What should we do? Should we answer it? Is that what we are supposed to do?" before finally picking up the phone. It's for Jerry! His great-grandson monotones that he misses him and then hands the phone off the Jerry's wife. I miss most of what is said because I am awestruck by the fact that they have the exact same voice. Is that psychosomatic? Like sympathy pains during labor? They make small talk for a few minutes and Jerry asks if she thinks they've all been behaving well. She says "Well...." and he laughs. There was that part where you grabbed April's boobs, so you may want to be careful about what questions you ask your wife at this juncture, Jerry.

Dan, Memphis, Keesha and Renny all meet and talk about what the best case scenario would be. It is agreed upon that Michelle going home would be ideal, so they decide to focus on her during the PoV. The selected contestants are Dan, Jerry, Memphis, Renny, Keesha and Michelle. The game is the standard BB puzzle, but to get from the pieces to the board they have to move themselves along while dangling on a pulley. They will battle in 2 heats of 3 HGs each and the 2 that win those will race each other. In the race between Dan, Michelle and Keesha, Keesha wins. In the race between Jerry, Renny and Memphis, Memphis won. When it comes down to Memphis and Keesha, Memphis takes the PoV.

Dan shouts in the DR (seriously, the other HGs have to be able to hear him) that Ollie is dumb for thinking that he would give up all that power and honor their deal. He then tells Renny and Keesha that this was his plan all along. While I agree that Ollie was rather dumb to think he was getting such a free ride, I must disagree with the second part. We all watched Dan congratulate himself on setting up a scenario in which he got to win HoH, still appear weak and have the nominations fall without blood on his hands. We also saw the moment in which he admitted that his plan was backfiring on him, with Ollie wanting to put Memphis on the block. So, no way am I buying that this was some master plan all along. I CALL SHENANIGANS!

Anyway, Ollie is thrilled that Memphis won, because it means he gets to use his PoV control. How this eclipsed his desire to have Memphis out of the house I am not sure, but alrighty then. He cackles about how he is going to make Dan put up someone from his own alliance and I wonder if Dan might just a usurper to his throne. That would be the throne of dumb, for those playing along. But Ollie proves he's not completely clueless when he at least goes to ask Dan for reassurance that he is still holding to their agreement. Dan lies and says he is.

Up in the HoH, Memphis and Dan perform a victory dance. I suppose this means Memphis forgives him? I don't see why though, because Dan still put him up, he got himself down. Oh well, dancers need partners, I suppose. They talk some more about being sure Michelle is the best choice, since she is a tough competitor and a loose canon. Or, as Memphis says "She's a friend, but she's a b!tch". The pull Keesha and Renny in again and reveal the last part of Dan's deal, leading Renny to tell Dan he's a crap negotiator. Which is the smartest thing she has said all season!

What happens next, I am just bewildered by. Dan decides that he doesn't want to take heat for how this will all go down - meaning his ultimate betrayal of his deal with Ollie. so, he intends to turn the other HGs against each other. As such, he finds out that Ollie wants Keesha to replace Memphis on the block. But Dan asks him to say Renny and then gets Michelle to agree to say she wants Keesha on the block. For some reason, they agree to this.

THEN Dan goes to Renny and Keesha and tells them that he plans to go around a circle and have everyone name another HG at the ceremony. He asks Keesha to say Michelle's name and she readily agrees. He then asks Renny to say Ollie's name, but she seems reticent and asks him to explain what it is he's trying to accomplish and what's in it for her to name Ollie. Dan bypasses all that by telling her the Ollie wants her on the block, and Renny agrees to say she wants Ollie on the block. Seriously?

So, at the PoV Ceremony, it goes down like this: Memphis takes himself off the block and Dan says he's a gambling sort and likes to have fun, so they are going to play a game he likes to call Replacement Nominee Roulette. Of the 4 he can put up, he wants them each to name who they want on the block. He stresses that they must be truthful and if someone tries to cop out and say they don't want to name someone else, he will put that person on the block. Michelle names Keesha, Ollie names Renny, Keesha names Michelle and Renny names Ollie. Dan then announces that every so often in the game you have to gamble, place your bets and take a risk, but that you better know who made the bet for you and in this case Ollie lost, so Michelle is on the block.

Which....what? How did that accomplish anything? Everyone got named by one person, so in the end all he did was prove that it was his decision. All his speech did was clarify that point, while also revealing that Ollie had played a hand in too - which everyone already knew anyway, but still. Nonsensical.

On the plus side, Ollie broke a light in the back yard in anger and Michelle threw a tantrum in the DR about being back doored by some one else's bad deal. So, at least stuff is happening!  So, next up is the big double elimination - who do you think is going home? What alliances will split? Will paramedics need to be called?

Zap2it Elite Sheet Must Reads from the Web's In-Crowd

After reading the supposed spoilers prior and before tonight's episode, I have to say that this show is getting up to Must See TV status and not wait for later TiVo.

I am sorry. Anyone can spin it anyway they can, but Dan is a tool and he needs to see that he is not as smart as he gives himself credit for. After the mess he pulled, especially with this worthless Replacement Nominee Roulette crap he pulled tonight, he is lucky to still be in the house. I can see now why he might have thrown challenges so he wouldn't be HOH. He probably couldn't face the pressure earlier with Jesse, Libra, and others that are now out of the house and feels like he can manipulate the last bit of houseguests left. But Renny is not as stupid as many people think she is and might be the one to upset the game.

Now on to the impending rampage that is going to happen by the looks of the end of the show. I read about the live feeds and just hope that revenge will end up being best served cold and not a hot mess...

Sorry for the double post, but I meant to say prior and after tonight's episode.

OMG ROTFL dan setting up the hg's to name each other and then playing replacement nominee roulette was THE funniest thing i've ever seen on BB. hands down.

thank god dan broke his deal with ollie. loyalty to your allies first! i would've had a fit if he put up keesha, all the fun would've been over.

if dan wins this game, he'll go down as an all-time mastermind. however, i don't think he helped himself with his little pov roulette stunt. if everyone gets a talkin' (and usually they do), he's gonna come out looking pretty shady. rennie was already su****ious. and instead of deflect attention i think he drew more to himself, so i'm not sure he really accomplished what he wanted. but it sure was fun to watch!!

how about mr. over-confident ollie? i was lmao listening to how "fun" it was for him knowing he had all the power. talk about being naive, but we've already seen that side of him with april.

and how selfish is michelle wishing she could have the phone call? i'm no fan of jerry's but still wanted him to have the call so he could talk to his wife, especially with her health issues. the call was sweet, and Jessica, you are right about their voices! i think michelle can survive without talking to mommy and daddy for now. and it was funny when dan said she was a little short in brainpower and then indeed she had trouble with the puzzle.

finally, SO GLAD memphis pulled himself off the block. i hope he stays aligned with dan and keesha. i have a funny feeling about renny turning, but i hope not.

I still have a problem seeing Michelle as a bigger threat. At least she is a known quantity since she tries to win every competition. She is mediocre at best and I see nothing that intimidating about her or her game play, especially now since she is in the minority power. Renny is the bigger wildcard.

Ollie has not been playing the game and was letting April protect him. He was on vacation until last week. Now that Ollie is motivated does Dan/Memphis know what they are really dealing with in Ollie? Do we know how tough he is? I think his performance on the vine HOH Sunday should have been a tip he is more of a force than they think.

I think the double eviction will bite Dan in the dupa. Michelle would be enraged Ollie was voted out via backdoor and most likely not play well. Something tells me that Olli is able to remain calm (enough to win at least) and get back at Dan.

Great re-cap. I thought the whole HoH deal with Ollie was going to work better for Dan. But I don't think it did. Especially the Replacement Nominee Roulette mess. It was pretty obvious that Dan still had control.

I love Renny and the fact that she saw right through the whole "pick a nominee" part in the HoH room. It was crystal clear to her. I have a feeling that Renny will end up in the final three.

I'm not sure what to think of Jerry anymore. He's still there! He seems pretty useless at this point, but he could be trouble if he stays longer. And Michelle? Well, she will self-implode if she stays. But i doubt she will. Although it would be smart for Renny and Keesha to get together and get rid of Jerry and keep Michelle to make Dan's remaining days a living hell.

My guess for the double eviction episode;

1. Michelle goes home in the first one.

2. Renny wins HoH, puts Ollie and Dan up. Dan goes home.

Your thoughts?

Peace.

Where is the weekly odd's maker? It hasn't been posted since week 2?

I'll admit I did like the the veto meeting and the little game but I don't think it helped Dan at all..he should have told ollie that he could follow thru and still try to keep him happy by keeping him safe now he is the target from his side...

JVice I hope you are wrong...i still like Dan and would like to see Jerry or Ollie go on the double eviction...they can not keep ollie if he makes it to final 2 he will win...renny can beat any of her alliance in the final 2 I think and that is why she probably wont make final 2 unless she has the power...dan could be safe even if ollie or jerry get hoh because they both are more concerned with getting memphis out

I think Memphis will be in the final 2

What struck me about the episode was this:

1. HGs are told of an impending phone call;

2. Phone magically appears the next day and rings;

3. Michelle is so confused on what to do. Really? Michelle, you don't think you should answer it? You really had to ask several times? How does Michelle function in everyday situations (e.g. crossing the street, getting groceries, etc.)? Pathetic.

Wow, last night's episode was as confusing as the recap implied. I don't understand Dan's motives at all. If he fully intended on betraying Ollie and Michelle, why not do it off the get-go. Why make Memphis mad? And why not have Memphis and Renny promise to keep Keesha and put her up as promised to Ollie?

Dan is playing to get to the end, but he will loose there! He is making every effort to seem weak and stupid and now one gives half a mil to the weak idiot!

I like Dan, and he has made some great comebacks and good alliances, but I just don't understand the end game.

Dan is going to have to betray Keesha/Renny at some point because he's talking about them just using Memphis to get them farther but he will never send Memphis home over one of them. At this point I don't really see Dan winning the 500,000 because Michelle/Ollie/April/Jerry will not vote for him and that's really the only votes that count because there would only be three left...I think maybe Dan knows that and might be trying to get to the F2 to at least get the 50,000 so he leaves with 70,000....I don't understand the logic in making the people in the Jury House mad and if/when Ollie goes there he will definately be able to swing April to his side of not voting for Dan to win the grand prize....Now if Dan were up against Keesha it might be a different story...I see either Memphis or Renny winning the grand prize..
