'Big Brother 10' Old vs new
This week, Big Brother 10 proved that the age old adage about everything old being new is completely untrue. And also, that previous HGs are still kind of irritating.
But first, a review! Everyone fought. No, seriously, everyone. Keesha and Libra decided to get Jessie out of the house, but its America that chooses in the end. Unfortunately for Dan, he gave both sides of the house his word that he would side with them, so he's in the doghouse with half the HGs. Before Jessie leaves, he tells Michelle to stick with Memphis and tells Memphis to stick with Michelle. And when Michelle wins HoH, it doesn't seem like too bad a deal.
Dan is so worried about his place in the house that he hides out in his room, under a pillow. But not all the artificial fiber in the world can drown out the sound of the house explosion that occurs. It starts with Renny freaking out when Michelle casually notes she had scoffed at how Michelle had studied all night long. I am not sure why Renny loses her mind over this, but she does. In the midst of the screaming, Michelle yells for Libra and Keesha to stop hiding and they both charge in yelling about how they aren't afraid of her. Jerry joins in all the shouting and April jumps in long enough to accuse Libra of being a lousy mother for swearing on the lives of her kids. Several house members start yelling about how Dan will burn in hell and may not even be a school teacher at all based on how he hid behind his cross. I'm shocked at it all. And perhaps even appalled. I'm not sure yet.
Memphis talks to Dan, assuring him that he trusts him, before he goes to talk to Michelle to see where her head is. It's not in trusting Dan, that much is certain. Michelle goes down to talk to Dan herself and the first thing she does is ask if he is really a school teacher. You must always beware of the dastardly fake school teacher strategy on BB, you know. After Dan promises that he is really a teacher, she asks him why he voted as he did. He gives the best answer he can - namely, that he has no good answer to give her. He admits that he's a weak player and Michelle reminds him that Jessie didn't want to put him on the block. Which kind of loses it's relevance in face of the fact that he did put Dan on the block. She leaves and Dan grins to the camera as if he accomplished something, But I cannot for the life of me figure out what that may be.
Before the reveal of the HoH room, Libra asks Michelle if she wants everyone to come up. It's an awkward and stilted conversation. Almost as awkward and stilted as Michelle in the red unitard with gold strappy stilettos. The reveal engenders little positivity, leaving Memphis irritated over April's cloying and faked excitement for Michelle, and with Renny in tears over missing her own family.
After wards, Michelle talks to April, Ollie and Jerry in the room, making it clear that she still thinks Libra is terrible mom for stealing her Hawaiian vacation rather than getting a letter from her kids. Jerry points out that it's disgraceful that Dan took off his cross, while continuing to rant about how he's hiding behind that same cross. I struggle to see how it is possible to hide behind something that was removed. And also, how is this situation all that different from Jerry taking off his Marine garb when he went back on his word? If it different because it's religious? Seems to me lying is dishonorable no matter what. It's these little things called ethics and morals that would make me a poor HG.
The Food Competition pits a player from each past season against a current HG, in identifying true versus false news stories. If the current HG come out on top, they win food or some other prize and if the past HG wins, they get a $1000. The past HGs take the majority of the wins. leaving the current HGs on slop everyday except Tuesday and Sunday, with the bonus of a feast. The more interesting part of the competition is the interactions, such as when Janelle slams Jessie as not being cute enough to be on the cover of a magazine or when Matty compliments Ollie on his undercover moves (just search youtube if you really want to know) before hitting on Michelle, cracking that Natalie is hiding in the bushes. That should have been one of the true news stories, by the way.
After wards, Memphis goes up to the HoH room to ask Michelle if she's made any decisions, but she is playing this one very close to her chest, refusing to give him any information. She also accuses him of being in alliance with Libra, Keesh and Renny, which he quickly denies, pointing out that his only alliance has ever been with her. I think I would have pointed out that any rational human being would rather deafen themselves with cocktail stirrer than spend any more time than absolutely necessary with Libra, Keesha or Renny. But that's just me.
On the other side, Renny whispers to her cronies that she can't stand April and Memphis arrives in just enough time to egg them on. Renny goes up to talk to Michelle about putting April up, but Michelle maintains her own council on the matter. Or, if she's smart, she's stuffed cotton in her ears to avoid actually listening to Renny talk.
At the Nomination Ceremony, everyone seems convinced that they are the biggest target, but in the end it's Libra and Keesha who are placed on the block. Michelle swears it isn't personal, that it's just strategy because they are both threats as good competitors. Which sounds real pretty for being complete BS.
Who else is hoping next week will reveal a surprise of a double elimination, allowing us to be rid of both the nominees?

Tonight's episode cemented Jerry as my least favorite houseguest. Talking about Dan hiding behind his cross, going back on his word and condemning him to Hell, has Jerry forgotten about going back on his word to Brian and ditching his Marine garb in order to do it? Either Jerry has dementia - quite possible - or a very short memory. The only down side is that we have to put up with him until the finale because he will at least make the jury house.
Hopefully next week either Jerry, April, or her shadow (Ollie) will join Libra in the jury house.
Well i cant stand april still...she has to go soon...she so insecure...did anyone notice the look on her face when ollie stood up when they announced janelle she look right at him then was all sad...she makes me sick...then she will accuse keesha of being jealous of her...she is so needy...please tell me ollie will leave soon after all this ends...sorry i had to vent
I thought that the houseguests attacking Dan and his religion were uncalled for. Did they forget that they were playing a game? I didn't get why Dan smiled at the camera...Doesn't he know that half the houseguests are already on to him throwing competitions and all that. I mean Libra guessed he was America's Player before he even accomplished his frist task of getting Jessie nominated so I don't think he's keeping things as under tha radar as he thinks. Libra even guessed that he threw the HoH competition that April won. If he throws this weeks HoH it will be a dumb move especially if Jerry immaculately wins the next HoH which I doubt. I don't get why Libra was suprised that April gravitated towards Michelle after she won HoH....Did she honestly think that April would stick around with the two people who betrayed her? I also didn't get why Renny began screaming at Michelle..it just sounded like Michelle was just joking around and not in any way attacking Renny. I think it would be hilarious if Jerry left next week and Libra was stuck with him in the Jury House for a whole week by herself. I don't see Memphis betraying Michelle any time soon since she stated that she would like to go to the final two with him. I too noticed the expression on April's face and thought it was all too funny...especially when she thought that Britney Spears would actually make a country album....ummmm...not going to happen.....all in all it is buh bye Libra week...and in her own words Don't Let the Door Hit Ya...
Ugh. Of what they have shown of April, plus the stuff on Youtube, she has GOT to go. I can't stand her. And I'm sure her family is really proud of her having unprotected sex on national tv with a total stranger. Notice how the producers have basically avoided showing much of the relationship between her and Ollie. Interesting. When Dan gave that pep speech to her on the "ledge", and said her family and boyfriend were rooting for her, did anyone see the great reaction shot of Ollie? Awesome.
I can't believe what they were saying about Dan and his religion...did everyone forget that they were playing a GAME? And how much do we love Memphis now for his interview commentary...
Regarding Michelle's nomination, I think the smartest thing to do would have been to put up Libra and April. By putting up members of both alliances, she wouldn't incur that much damage no matter who went. And it would have made an interesting battle between the rest of them, with barely any alliances left.
Jerry has got to be one of the biggest hypocrites ever. What an absolute crock he has become. He sure isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. He has quickly embraced the jarhead stereotype for which Marines are known.
Hopefully Dan will stop throwing competitions now.
I agree Jerry is horrible...and i thought i would like him in the beginning...he almost makes me a sick as april...what he said about dan was crazy...first of all all dan said in the pool when jerry told him the plan was OK Jerry no promises...and even if he did so what...and how is it different then what jerry did to brian week one...and no matter what he didnt need to bring the religion into it...
walt...i didnt even think about cbs not showing ollie and april getting it on at night...they showed matty and natalie...and every other past season...well matty callled it out and let them know america knows...
this is a weird season for me because i dont love anyone...i have ppl i like better then others...but I definitely have ppl i hate as much or more than any other season...I still like memphis...renny...dan...keesha and can not stand april jerry and ollie
I think i would like a memphis and keesha final 2 just so april would have to vote for one of the 2 ppl she hates or even memphis and dan so jerry would have to
Yikes. The Trashy Edition of BB10 was in full swing last night. I'm sure Michelle's family must be very proud of their daughter prancing around in a red leotard AND gold stilettos. Not to mention her constant cursing. What's up with that? Trash, trash, trash.
And Jerry. Don't even get me started. This guy was in the Marines? What an idiot. The Marines should make him stop wearing that nasty red sleeveless t-shirt. It's an insult to the Marines.
I agree with you Linda. I would like to see Keesha and Memphis in the final two. Or even Libra and Keesha in the final two. That should make for an interesting finale.
Has Billybob been kidnapped by Sasquatch? Or will he be showing up on BB10 in the middle of the night? or has Joshie locked him up in a basement somewhere?
Peace.
Michelle..GET OVER Libra taking the vacation. her kids cant write yet and Imsure if anything was wrong, BB would have told her. Its a game, she is in it to win it and looks like she is not going to win so at least she got a vacation out of it.
what a crock that food comp was. the previous houseguest didnt even get to meet face to face with the current houseguest.
