Markkanemura_soyouthinkyoucandanc_2 Bring on the impassioned rants, conspiracy theories, and righteous I told you so's - it's time for this week's So You Think You Can Dance results! Is anyone else experiencing an uncomfortable sinking feeling in the pit of their stomach? I'll just console myself with the knowledge that I can see them all on the tour. (Note to tour organizers: You suck. Is our great nation's capital not good enough for you?! Now I have to bum a ride to Baltimore...) (Spoilers ahead.)

Our group number is a Hip Hop piece choreographed by Chuck Maldonado set to "Universal Mind Control (UMC)" by Common (yay!). It may or may not be a tribute to the fact that a superhero movie is currently number one in the box office. I mean, there's really no other explanation for those outfits.

We get some clips of Toni "I invented 'street'" Basil, and while the words coming out of her mouth about her career and dance education are interesting, I am too distracted by the Eighties-tacular style of her videos. Then, Nigel has a special announcement: VOTE! While I can't agree more wholeheartedly with his message, I'm intrigued that they chose a British fella to deliver it.

Katee is called to the stage first, and is safe. Phew! Will is up next, and his attempt to play to the crowd last night with his James Brown impersonation didn't pay off - he's in the bottom two. You know, I think I'm down with that. I love him, but not as much as I love the other fellas. Will may be technically good (at least at Contemporary), but he just doesn't make me look forward to watching him as much as someone like Mark does.

Comfortfedoke_soyouthinkyoucandance After the break, Comfort is in the hot seat. Unsurprisingly and completely fairly, she's in the bottom two. Mark, my SYTYCD boyfriend, is next. So. NERVOUS! No matter how I feel he did last night (good not great), I really want to see him back next week. And miracle of miracles, he's SAFE! And looks about as shocked as I do. Man, the power of a negative critique is a magical thing when it comes to turning out the votes. Thanks, America! (Though is anyone else a wee bit sad we didn't get another awesome Mark solo this week? I know, I know...there's no pleasing me!)

Chelsie, she of the wondrous legs, joins Cat on the stage after the break. Her outfit is...better unremarked upon. She's safe, huzzah! Although I do feel for Courtney, who looks understandably upset backstage. Man, this is so tough! Why can't it be like elementary school, where everyone's a winner? And though Courtney does rock her solos with very intense emotion every week, I can see her in the bottom two. She's just not as strong in the pairs routines as Katee and Chelsie.

Twitch follows Chelsie, and he's in the bottom two. (Note to self: Saying it in quick, Band-Aid-ripping fashion does NOT help. I'm sad, he's sad, we're all sad.) This is a bit surprising since his solo was so strong, but I'm not really worried that he'll go home. Joshua comes onstage to find out what he already knows: he's safe. And to see a replay of Nigel calling his butt big. Courtney also watches her greatest hits from last night, and I'm secretly happy that I'll get to see her and Twitch do solos. Don't judge me - you know you were thinking the same thing. (Though I'll feel pretty guilty if one of them ends up going home.)

While we wait with bated breath for the predictable (at this point) results, we watch a special performance by two dancers from the Los Angeles Ballet - a pas de deux set to "The Man I Love" from the ballet Who Cares? It's lovely and all, but I'm ready to get on to the results. Sorry, Los Angeles Ballet. Insert predictable joke about song title here.

Bottom 4 Solos

1. Comfort - "Like This" by Mims

This is one of my favorite solos by Comfort. I love the energy. That said, the fact that we have so many of her solos to choose from is kind of a red flag, no?

Williamwingfield_soyouthinkyoucanda 2. Will - "Closer" by Goapele

I like that he used the side of the stage in the beginning, but I wasn't really feeling it otherwise, especially the charades-like part toward the end. I know he can do better. Nigel says that he thought Will and Twitch were the best performers last night, and chalks it up to the aforementioned "vote for the contestants in perceived danger" syndrome.

3. Courtney - "Passion" by Kreesha Turner

This is a very playful, upbeat solo for her. I love the song! It doesn't have the same overwhelming "wow" factor for me that her solos usually do, but I thought it was very fun, and I love that she tried something new.

4. Twitch - "Hollywood Swinging" by Kool & the Gang

As soon as I saw what song he chose, I knew this solo would soar. I just...it's just...BANANAS. So freaking fantastic, you guys. I wish I could do a better job describing exactly how joyful and fun it was, but it's something you just have to see for yourself. He boiled down the essence of cool and choreographed it to Kool & the Gang.

Before we find out who's headed home, we're treated(?) to a performance of LL Cool J's latest single "Baby" featuring The Dream. At first I was all, "LL is still recording?" But according to Wikipedia, he's been recording regularly for the past 20+ years, so that just goes to show what I know about rap (nothing).

And now, the results: Comfort is heading home (again), and gets another Best Of compilation reel. No big surprise there. Joining her in exile is Will. Well, I would've been surprised if you had told me that at the beginning of the night, but it's not at all shocking given that it was down to Will and Twitch. I'm not happy to see any of the guys go, but I can definitely live with this result.

Outraged? Pacified? Still suspicious that the fix is on? How do you feel about tonight's results?

wow what a night

comfort was the right choice

good at one thing but technically not solid enough

sad that WILL went

it should have been Mark for me

going to be interesting

I say Katee Twitch in the finale?

what does everyone else think?

Sad to say, but as soon as Will came out in that outfit dressed like Eddie Murphy in Dreamgirls, I got that sinking feeling. Looks like someone might have perceived they were bulletproof enough to make that kind of gaff. Note to self, Will..That character didn't help Eddie win the gold, why on EARTH did you think it'd work for you? Alvin Ailey, hire him now please!! CHeers!

I hope this doesn't mean Debbie Allen is going to be a judge now. After Toni Basil I don't think I could take it.

I am upset that Will went home! I expected him to be in the top four and probably win. He's an amazing technician and he has really started showing his personality over the past few weeks. However, I'm glad that Twitch didn't go home! I love him! He can adjust to so many different styles and has the greatest personality. I really thought that Mark should've gone home. He's quirky and sweet, but I don't think he's as good as the others. I'm glad that Comfort went home though-it was her time again, in my opinion. Now I'm cheering for Twitch, Joshua, Courtney, and Chelsie to be in the top four! I hope America gets it right next week and starts voting for the best.

Chelsea is by far the very best dancer on the show. She and Joshua make a great pair and I would like to see them win the contest. Courtney is also very good and has a great career ahead of her.

yay!!!!! Mark Stays!!!!!!!!

There will be some people who claim that Will was the best dancer and that his exit is premature. These people are either insane or presently under the influence of mind-altering intoxicants. Will is a medicore dancer. He's very athletic, but he has NO sense of rhythym. Watch almost any dance he did this season. He is off the beat almost every time. He is a weak partner. He has trouble lifting 110-pound women in the air. He is NOT graceful. He is a weak dancer. There were others that should have made the top 20, but Debbie Allen's name got Will in. The guys was arrogant, too. The smug tool w***o sure he'd sail through to the next round, he didn;t even prepare a solo tonight. So he goes out there and half-heartedly does Indian fingers for his solo. Fittingly weak. Twitch should be next.

A little bit harsh on Will there, James, but I will admit that I too questioned whether he was winging his solo.

It kind of was an unmemorable way to go out...

hmmmm I guess James a bit harsh but i agree with him; I wanted will to go weeks ago...yaaay finally got my wish....now its gona be tough cause i love all the girls and guys left....and y dont i see any love for katee in all the comments!!!

So glad that Will is gone! In my opinion, he should have never been in the competition being that he worked with Debbie Allen in her program. I wonder why no employees of Fox and its affiliates can go on the show but it was OK for Will?
