Jcchasez_americasbestdancecrew2_240 On tonight's America's Best Dance Crew, the crews are challenged to "Rock the Title" and physically embody the name of the song they're dancing to. And, fortunately, no one choked.

Spoilers

1. A.S.I.I.D.
Song: "Roll" by Flo Rida feat. Sean Kingston
They had not one but three examples in there, which is impressive. Tristan even cut the word "roll" into his head. I liked the number though on occasion they weren't entirely clean. They had some trouble with the concept which put them behind in terms of rehearsing. They brought a lot of energy and personality as always and that two-person acrobatic roll they did was pretty sick. Lil' Mama didn't appreciate that they weren't as tight as usual but JC and Shane showed a little more appreciation.

Sorealcru 2. SoReal Cru
Song: "Snake" by R. Kelly
They start out with the two girls coming out of baskets while the guys play imaginary flutes. That was cool. Like A.S.I.I.D., they had a lot of examples in there - Snake Tuts (as Shane called them), isolations with their hoodies, one of the guys sliding across the floor while the girls "pull" him across...it was pretty hype. Shane dug it the most.

3. Supercr3w
Song: "We Fly High" by Jim Jones
They're all dressed like Clark Kent. I love it already. They keep with the trandition of multiple title tricks, my two favorite being the standing basket toss (that he landed on his feet) and the human piloted airplane at the end. Crazy awesome. Shane slo-mos the air-flairs that Ben did, and understandably so. JC slo-moed the super high basket toss...it was essentially a lovefest from all the judges. I really apprecite their constant creativity.

4. Boogie Bots
Song: "Game Over" by Lil' Flip
Not to be outdone in the creativity department, they had a video game theme to their number - they even added some "Street Fighter" movements in there (the Ryu/Ken uppercut which Mario wrongly identified as E. Honda - /end nerdout). At the end they formed a giant robot, which was cool. Lots of good stuff, probably my favorite number from them so far.

Fannypak 5. Fanny Pak
Song: "Toy Soldier" by Britney Spears
Strong theme - they were dressed like those little green Army men, complete with their feet on stands. Lil' Mama had a good analysis saying they looked like toy soldiers who broke out of their package in a toy store. JC gives props to them for dancing in those stands and pulling it off. Shane dug them too, calling them the underdogs and the ones to watch. I liked it, not as much as some of the others, but it was really solid and had some nice moments.

6. Supreme Soul
Song: "Elevator" by Flo Rida feat. Timbaland
Yet another strong concept, all the guys are bellhops at a hotel with one playing the guest. For me, the strongest title trick was the actual elevator thing they did at the end. I also really dug the ripple/peel-off into grabbing the bag. They used their props really well and there were a lot of great details. The judges liked it but weren't exactly blown away.

The Bottom Two
1. Phresh Select
Song: "Big Things Poppin'" by T.I.
The coolest title trick was the human balloon pop they did at the end. Another thing I appreciate is that they always continue the performance after the song actually ends. Like a dismount. A lot of big tricks though it wasn't the cleanest it could be.

Xtremedanceforce 2. Xtreme Dance Force
Song: "Earthquake" by Tech N9ne
Perhaps they had a little too much going on, but they were dancing really hard and had a lot of title tricks. At the end, they all dropped their pants and spelled out "Earthquake" on their boxers. One guy even took off his shirt. A little something for all the ladies.

After a commercial break and a pause that was entirely too long, host Mario Lopez reveals that Phresh Select will be moving on leaving Xtreme Dance Force to return home. All in all, I liked Xtreme but they never quite lived up to their Audition Special performance for me. I'll be interested in seeing how they do when they return for the finale.

I think my two favorite perfomances tonight were from Supercr3w and Boogie Bots, SoReal getting an honorable mention. Generally speaking I was really impressed by everyone's performance. They all really came with it. What were your favorites? Has a front-runner emerged? Do you think they sent the wrong crew home? Any other thoughts/comments?

Comments

tam, i'm with you on my fav three, though i'd switch the order of "soreal" and "boogie bots"--i REALLY enjoyed seein' the video game choreography, but the snake dancin' amped me up!

i'm really surprised with america's voting right now--caveat: if it's truly them. i really thought they'd put fanny pack down there until they were outsted; but, they haven't!

so, in true ANTM fashion, i'll give my favorites ranking order with elimination order(starting at next show):

7 -- phresh select (1)

6 -- supreme soul (4)

5 -- asiid (5)

4 -- boogie bots (2)

3 -- so real (runner up!)

2 -- fanny pack (3)

1 -- super cr3w (winner!)

the robbing of "kaba modern" from last year should ensure the finals they should have had last year.

if "boogie bots" stay in their identity zone, they'll stay longer.

and, i'm sorry, but "supreme soul" ain't really got it, which is a shame, cuz they'll be around longer than they should be...

i can't wait to see what the sped up tempo is gonna do to these crews!!

I think Asiid didn't really come as hard as they normally did and I could see them being in the bottom next week.

Anyone else think that Mario Lopez looked like he was wearing his little sister's shirt??

I thought Mario's shirt was more "Metro Hogwarts".
