Kristiyamaguchi_markballas_dancingw With only four couples left, Dancing with the Stars is really going for the jugular with the time-filler. Seriously, the recap segment for last night was about 427 minutes long.

Spoilers

Anyhoo, Len introduces the encore performance which was Kristi & Mark's Tango. Clearly. Every time I look at Mark, I can't help but think of Barbie's guy pal Derek.

Next up is our first Junior Champion contenders, 9-and-under champs Aaron & Rashell. Rashell was happy to have won but was "even more happier" to be coming back. They had a rally at their school in support of the kids to Aaron's delight as he really wanted fame out of this whole thing. Nice. Anyway, pro Kym Johnson visits the kids during rehearsal to give some tips. She is one of Rashell's favorite. They perform a Cha Cha to "Please Mr. Postman" by The Marvelettes. Len, Bruno and Carrie Ann were all very impressed by their energy and technique, and rightly so.

Dana Delaney is in the audience. Tom Bergeron introduces her with a bonus of a little cross-promotion for Desperate Housewives. Whenever I see her I just think, "You're the voice of animated Lois Lane." Oh, and there was a Samantha Harris interview with all the celebs. Meh.

Emmy-nominated choreographer Travis Payne is this week's Macy's Stars of Dance segment. Along with Travis and his dancers, Omarion (who was nominated for a Grammy, I'm sure with Timbaland because Timbaland is a genius) dances and sings in this tribute to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" anniversary. It could've easily been Ne-Yo, Usher, Chris Brown, or Omarion's brother Marques Houston performing because they're similarly talented and equally MJ influenced. That being said, it was enjoyable though all the camera cuts towards the end started making me dizzy. I wonder why they didn't get Mario to do it?

After the commercial break, our second Junior Champion contenders perform - Jaryed & Cara, 10-and-under champs. They, too, got a pep rally at school. They danced and signed autographs. Adorable. Maksim was the pro that showed up at their rehearsal. Cara thinks "he's so cute." Maks seemed to do a lot more actual coaching than Kym, but that's probably just the way the footage was cut. They perform a Samba to "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" by They Might Be Giants.

I'd tell you how they danced or anything else that happened in the next, oh, giant chunk of the show but my DVR decided it wanted to freeze and shut off. Awesome. And by awesome I mean not.

But, as I won't let that piece of crap defeat me, I found my old school bunny ears for my TV. You will not thwart me DVR! I shake both fists angrily in your direction!!

Ahem. Anyway, after another commercial break (and Kristi & Mark already being saved) it's revealed "in no particular order" that Jason & Edyta are the other couple safe leaving Cristian and Marissa on the chopping block. However, the safe couple isn't necessarily part of the Bottom Two.

Marissajaretwinokur_tonydovolani_da Unfortunately, it's time for Marissa to go home. She's bummed but she's still smiling and very positive about the whole experience. Tom added that he's never seen Tony smile so much. Her farewell package was even adorable. And Tony was a bit choked up when saying how proud he was of her.

Thankfully, her farewell song was "The Best Is Yet To Come," a much less sappy, pathetic choice than usual.

Should Cristian have been sent home instead? Will you miss Marissa? Any early thoughts/wishes about next week's freestyle dances?

Alright, first comment in! Justice has FINALLY been served! Glad to see that three talented dancers are in the finals... I had Kristi and Jason as the final 2 since week 3. Having Cheryl back in the finals is nice to see, and Cristian should be happy that he's gotten this far. She is an ingenious choreographer. I have Kristi winning the whole thing.... guess we'll find out next week!

It's too bad Marissa had to go before the ridiculously overrated Cristian. When is this man going to have a relaxed expression on his race rather than the tense, petrified and sometimes completely vacant expression he has had since day one?

Let's go Kristi!

Too bad Marissa had to go but i'd like to see Cristian and Cheryl win!!!! =) They should be a couple. They're so cute together.

Not a surprise, but good job Marissa for improving and enjoying yourself, making it this far and especially, for me, for making Tony likeable and fun!

......

Man those 12 or 13 year-old dancers were awesome. I thought it was nice to pros went to visit all 3 couples too.

......

Marissa fans vote for Kristi! :) Lets have a woman win, but not just because she's a woman but because she's the best dancer by far. And poor Kristi must feel on the outside competing with best buddies Cristian and Jason. I'm just glad to see Kristi in the finals. I hope she wows us next week, but good luck to all of the finalists! Please make the freestyles better than last season which were the worst in the history of the show to me.

Cristian de la Fuente deserves to get a big applause. He is a great entertainer and dancer and a big sport in addition to which he is Chileno. Best of luck and you have the vote of a 90 year old Latina de Puerto Rico...

I want Kristi to win so badly! Don't get me wrong I think Jason is a great dancer it would just be nice to have a woman who deserves to win actually win.

However, if I am honest Jason will probably win because he is an NFL player.

Tamara's technical difficulties prevented her from seeing and therefore commenting on the 3rd junior couple. AMAZING! Forget their names - it was B & B (like Brandon and Brittany or something similar) and they were the highlight of the show for me.

Looking forward to the finale. Go KRISTI!

I think Kristi is the best and has been since the first night. They are the best couple out there. Jason is good but too tall to be a competetive dancer. He just doesn't look right.Cheryl is the greatest and has improved Cristian amazingly but Kristi is still the best.

Geez, bring back Emmett Smith. This year's Dancing is a snooze fest.

Go Kristi and Mark - may you win the championship like you deserve and not be defeated by two overrated men who do half the difficulty that you have done all during the competition.
