'The Bachelor: London Calling': "I've Been Blonde Since I Was 12"

Amanda_r_bachelorlondoncalling_s12_ Last week, 'The Bachelor' made a huge mistake and sent sweet, adorable Noelle - and her dimples - packing. Now he's going to take Shayne to Barbados, and let the other two remaining spinsters tag along in the hopes that they will somehow win his heart. A hint for Chelsea and Amanda: Shayne got drunk and screamed at him on their first date. He clearly loves the crazy. Step it up!

Matt reveals that he is "smitten" but doesn't specify with whom, as the four travel to Barbados with the promise of "intimate" overnight dates. His first date is with Shayne, about whom he says that all of his reservations are gone, and they make out on the beach. They jet-ski and bounce on a floating trampoline, kissing beneath the sunset. After dark, they meet for dinner, where Matt wants to see the serious side of Shayne. He tells her that he is concerned becoming jealous of Shayne's costars, and she demonstrates a screen kiss on him. He tells her that he feels like she plays up the blonde act, and she tells him that she's always been blonde! Since she was 12 or 13! Oy. She takes his hand and asks him if she really sees a future with her, and she tells him that she's falling in love with him. He says that he's falling for her as well but...isn't there a big difference between falling for someone and falling in love with someone? Isn't that kind of the chicken way out? Later, he confessionals that he was "touched" that Shayne is falling in love with him. Ruh roh! Regardless, he offers her a key to the fantasy suite, which I am fairly certain is a euphemism for a conjugal visit.

Shayne_bachelorlondoncalling_s12_24And the next morning, he, what, rolls over, throws his shorts back on and heads out to meet Amanda? This is gross! Amanda confessionals that although she thought she had been in love before, she never knew love before Matt. They go zip-lining, conquering their shared fear of heights, before meeting for dinner on the beach. Amanda, like, has a major problem, like, with expressing emotion? Like? She makes Shayne sound like a wordsmith. Amanda likes him, like she's liked her boyfriends before, but she likes Matt more? Matt is happy that she's finally opening up, and she tells him that she's never been in love before, but I really don't feel any chemistry between them. Matt doesn't care, though! He'll fantasy suite with anyone! I hope they changed the sheets.

The next day, he and Chelsea go out on a catamaran, and he hopes that they can hold on to the romance that they were able to find at her home visit. However, Chelsea continues to be standoffish with him. Literally. Her body is pulling away from him. They lie next to each other and she tells him how "stupid" she finds handholding when he reaches for her hand. The date is genuinely awful. They snorkel among sea turtles! Oh my god! But the date is a disaster. At dinner, Chelsea_bachelorlondoncalling_s12_2Chelsea is making up for her lack of personality with an abundance of breasts. Good lord. Matt tells her that he feels like they're on 'The Bachelor' for best friends. Ouch. Chelsea tells him that she can't relax around him because of the fact that she's still competing with two other girls, which seems both totally valid, but also kind of stupid considering the show she's on. But of course, he fantasy suites the socks off of her. Chelsea changes into a really unfortunate, floor-length black lace nightgown. She looks like a whore in mourning. Matt finally feels like they've connected.

Matt only has two roses, and I guarantee one of them's going to Shayne. I hope the other goes to Amanda, but I don't think it will. And for the first time, I'm right! Matt sits Amanda down on a bench and tells her that he has meant everything he has said to her, but his "heart told him" that he was more connected to the other two. She calls him something bleeped, and I agree wholeheartedly. You're a bleep, Matt! Amanda sobs in the limo that she thought they were getting married. And now Matt is taking Shayne and Chelsea to London to meet his parents.

Next week: the reunion special! Featuring Stacey! Remember her?

Well, I know that many of you were rooting for Amanda, and I'm a little unhappy he chose Chelsea over her. But I also feel like it doesn't really matter who went home this week - Shayne's going home with that ring on her finger. Agree? Disagree? Does anyone else feel like they need to shower after that?

I don't know how he can't see through shayne. He should follow his first gut feeling that she is acting and wants to see if she can get him over the othre twenty four girls. He will probably pick her just because I don't like her at all. I think she is acting.

It is said you should look at a girls mother to get an idea of what she will look like in 20-30 years. Matt should think twice about those inflateable lips Shayne's mother has. He will be marrying into a whole lot of crazy if he chooses her.

I thought Noelle was good for Matt and wish that he could see that Shayne is a fake. I hope that he won't pick her but I know he is going to.

Appreciate the recap but I don't think Matt Grant is going to go for a free night of sex with three women. I don't think sheets got soiled. If you recall his reaction when sex was put on the front burner, he felt such behavior was inappropriate and unacceptable -- such as the trollop who stuffed her panties into his pocket. He thought that was tacky. This man has ***erted over and over that he is looking for his wife and the mother of his children. I do not think he would behave inappropriately with the three women in the fantasy suites. That time in there is just a wonderful romantic ambience and a place where a couple can build a fantasy and see if it can hold water.

I was completely surprised when he let Amanda go. I must say I was relieved that he chose Shayne first, so that she and I could breathe a sigh of relief.

I remember that he mentioned that he liked Chelsea's family. The thing is, the closer the young lady is to her family, the harder it is to take her away from her family to raise the grandchildren elsewhere. Particularly the parents of young ladies will feel the loss when their daughter makes a move away from the family.

Shayne comes from a strange family and I think she could heal from a dose of normalcy. This is my speculation, admittedly. We'll see how it comes out. I think Shayne would be able to transition to London easier.

Shayne has at least played the part of being willing to reveal herself totally and be vulnerable. She has been rewarded by being kept along.

One can wonder if she is just really good at winning.

Listen. This girl has been on her own since 17 -- five years of being self-reliant. I think she is smart, vulnerable, and worthy of a magnificent young man as Matt Grant.

I hope they make beautiful babies together.

Originally I would have bet on Amanda, but Amanda, like Chelsea, cannot demonstrate her vulnerability. I was surprised he let Amanda go before Chelsea but I think he felt that he given Amanda many opportunities -- he had that one-on-one date with her, she was the first one out of the limo, she got the first first-impression rose, she had the aura of the wholesome girl-next-door, then she demonstrated her sense of humor with that prank of the fake parents, but maybe it was a bit contrived and maybe she had not truly lost her heart and demonstrated the romance Shayne reveals.

I think he's giving Chelsea a last chance to prove herself... probably because he likes her family. That's my theory.

Yeah, I think it will be Shayne wearing that ring.

I hope she is up to the challenge of wife and mother. Good luck. (My heart goes out to Shayne.)

I'm not sure he will finally pick Shayne. There was something in the previews that led me to believe Matt's parents have a little more sense than he does. Shayne's 22. Yes, she's been on her own for awhile, but I don't know that she has any sense of reality. It seems as though she's playing him to see if she can 'win'. I think she got about as far as she's going to, but it wouldn't surprise me to be wrong.

I had to laugh at whatever one said she was looking forward to getting married. I asked out loud, 'have you EVER watched this show?????'

They mentioned in last night's episode that Shayne was 22. But isn't Chelsea 22, too? Matt must like them young. He's 32, 34, somewhere around there, right? That's a whole lotta difference. I was hoping he would go for Noelle. Then, I was content that he'd stay with Amanda. Now, I could care less. I don't think either of those girls are ready for marriage, sacrifice, commitment, compromise, etc. I wish I could say, "Poor Matt," but he chose it. Sucks to be him.

From the previews last night, it looked like he proposed to Chelsea. If you noticed, Shayne was on the left and Chelsea was on right, and when he bent down to propose, he was facing right. Did anyone else notice that?

Matt is 27, so I guess a 22 year old woman would be about the right age for him.

Nevertheless, I truly believe that whomever he does choose...well, they won't last very long. They have the 'Bachelor' odds going against them. Think about it. Am I right or wrong?

Matt and Shayne like each other a lot, Amanda liked Matt but he didn't care one way or the other about her, and Matt and Chelsea don't like each other at all, although they're trying to talk themselves into it.

I think Matt only kept Chelsea because his ego wouldn't let him dump a woman who really doesn't care. He wants to win her over, THEN dump her. Sorry, ladies, this is how we guys operate. With Amanda, well, he'd already won her over, so Good-Bye!.

He'll pick Shayne in the end, they'll play house for awhile, then realize they don't really have anything in common at all, and go their separate ways.

Boy - last night did it in for me. Amanda did not deserve to go home. I really think that he was going to end up with Amanda, oh well that's life.

As far as Chelsea, she now is the one that should get the ring, but I think that he wants to have a crazy woman. She is also a bottle blonde, not natural.

I have heard a lot about the Lorenzo Lamas family over the years reading people magazine.

Number one, he has been married numerous times. I really think he is handsom, but also a playboy.

I think that if Matt is looking at money, he will pick Shayne. Money is not everything in this world, and she is to young for him, only 22. She looked like she had been drinking last night, and she is also very childish. If he choses either of these girls - I'd lay money down that it is not going to work out. Sorry Matt - you let the two fantastic girls go, Noel and Amanda.
