'The Bachelor: London Calling': I'd Be Into Me
Previously! on 'The Bachelor: London Calling': Matt kissed everyone, jealousies (and, let's be honest, probably a herpe or two) flared, and Shayne bugged the living crap out of everyone. Even Matt! But he still wants to sleep with her. Sigh.
This week includes a group date, a solo date, and a brutal sudden-death-elimination double date. Ashlee, Shayne, Kelly, Chelsea, Noelle and Robin's date involves tennis rackets and tea cups. The girls take on Matt on the tennis court, where he has trouble keeping his hands off Chelsea. Ashlee has trouble understanding the phrase "taking it in stride", but Matt is too distracted by her sub-Jewel vocal stylings to notice. Matt kisses Ashlee. The ladies take tea overlooking a lake, where Robin infuriates the other girls with her incessant babble about tea. She steals Matt away for a private chat, after which the other girls castigate Robin for her competitive nature, bringing her to tears. But in the end, looking good in athletic apparel trumps a knowledge of tea, and Chelsea wins the rose.
Back at the house, the date box reveals that Amanda is going on the solo date with Matt. Which means, of course, that either Marshana or Holly will be going home at the end of their joint date. Oh, the drama! Amanda gets her hiccups from her nerves over her solo date with Matt. The two take a vintage roadster to a 50's diner and indulge in some french fries and dancing. Amanda honestly seems too awkward to live sometimes, but it's a nice change from the slurry slutting of the Shaynes of the competition. Apparently it's a nice change for Matt as well, as he gives her a rose. Matt kisses Amanda (that's two, for those of you who are keeping count.) They take a ferris wheel ride overlooking Los Angeles.
Marshana and Holly learn that their date will involve cooking, and that they both will be packing their bags...but only one can return to the house. That's really brutal, producers. Holly and Marshana both feel that Marshana is heading into the date as the underdog, as Holly has already had a solo date and kiss with Matt. Over dinner, both girls profess to wanting to move to London to be with their bachelor. He pulls Marshana aside for some one-on-one time and kisses her. That's three! While cuddling with Matt on a bed, Holly tells him how strong her feelings are for him. And he kisses her! Four! Matt agonizes (uh huh) over his decision before giving the rose to Marshana. Wait, what? Seriously? Oy, and he tells Holly that he found conversation "difficult" with her. OUCH.
Matt arrives at the house to whittle the group down by another two women. Matt asks Ashlee whether she would give up her music for him, and she says "eh, um, we could make something work, maybe?" And sweet Noelle gets some solo time with Matt! Hooray! She reminds me of Amy Acker. However, she doesn't seem to make much of an impression on Matt. Kelly is starting to get really defensive and emotional about the fact that she hasn't gotten a rose. So she decides to show Matt her breasts. She is so, so drunk. She's the Shayne of this episode. Oh, except for the fact that Shayne wants to be the Shayne of this episode! She tells him to hurry up and send the other girls home already. He responds to her endless whining by kissing her. That's five! Chris enters to speed along the process. This week's scientific guess: Noelle and Kelly are going home. But! Sweet little Noelle once again flies under the radar and gets the rose! Annoying Ashlee will be accompanying Kelly home. Whoo hoo! Kelly drunkenly rambles about how hot she is. Yes, dear. We also believe you're 24 years old. Ashlee, for her part, sobs through the song she wrote for Matt at the first date. It's as tuneful as you would expect.
Next week: skiing! Horse-drawn carriages! Dramatic hand gestures!
What did you think, my desperate little divas and divettes? (Divos?) Did Kelly turn into that really sad older woman at the end of the bar at last call? Were you really, really hoping Marshana would go home? Cause I was! Spill!

I don't know where I stand with this season of the Bachelor. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it. I have definitely been surprised though.
First, Matt sent Holly home. Did he really do that? I think she is really sweet and nice and I can't understand what he has against her. I forgot, "It was hard to talk to her"??? He had a great date with her last week, although he did say they "were too comfortable with each other", which is somehow a bad thing. He could have at least eliminated her last week and saved her the embarr***ment of being p***ed over in favor of Marshana
However, he did eliminate Ashlee so I (hopefully) never have to hear her sing again. (They won't have her sing when the "Women tell all" will they???)
Another bonus was that Matt did realize that Kelly had some issues. Do they have anything besides alcohol to drink at those parties? Seriously ladies, how does getting drunk and being incoherent make you look like the woman he wants to take home to mom?
I guess I should be grateful that two of the three he sent home were good choices.
But, please, please, PLEASE send Marshana home next week!
I know I was sooo hoping marshana was gone!!! I dont think I can stand to see them kiss anymore-not with that lip thing that happens. Kiss shane, kiss anyone else pleaseeeeeeee
Here we freakin' go. You people are hating on Marshana because she is black. That's why LauraK wants to see him kiss "anyone else" and that's why Confused thought it was an embarr***ment that Marshana was chosen over Holly. Look inside your souls people. And I hope to God he takes her all the way to the end, because that's something none of the American bachelors ever did. It takes a British bachelor to show that color does not matter. Ya people make me sick.
Missy
i am so surprised like you to see how much people can hate marshanna when all around the house you have other women attitude really discutable. and i want to point out the reaction of the girls when they took Holly stuff out. i heard one say:"no way". what does it suppose to mean? that marshana is not good enough than a Shayne or Robin?...Come on, at the end the show is about someone giving the chance to love to happen. i want to see one white girl trapped with just black girls and tell me she will not feel all alone or insecure and nervous. you should all take some time to think before writing stuff!!! and thx Missy
There are several girls that I like least from the get-go, and Marshana was amongst that group. Kelly was in that group as well. I can honestly say that ethinicity didn't not even enter my mind until reading this blog. Nor did I think the groups reaction to Holly's departure was any different than many other group reactions from previous Bachelors'. I believe because Holly was so sweet and available to the other girls, the group's reaction was one that reflected the loss they were feeling personally. Just saying.
Thank you Zimm. That is what I meant.
I can honestly say that until I read the blog again to see if anyone else had posted yet I had never thought that what I wrote could be considered racist. I am offended that anyone would jump to that conclusion as I also said I was glad Ashlee and Kelly were gone (and they are both white). I thought Holly would be a girl that would be there a lot longer, that is all.
And as for saying the lip thing was racist, I don't like Mick Jagger's lips and he's white.
Do you want to know what is really disgusting? It is judging people when you don't even know what they meant so shame on you Missy and Mantisss!
I want Marshana gone not because she is black, but because she is a b***h, just like I want Shanye gone.
So what's the deal with Noelle? She gets zero on screen time. Is she too boring for the producers ? In the last episode she and Matt went for a walk together - we didn't get to see a minute of it. I think she might be the dark horse.
I really don't think anyone intended to sound racist about Marshana. I didn't read it that way, anyway. A black co-worker and I were discussing today that Marshana had made it farther than any other black woman on the franchise, but that we want her gone because she's OBNOXIOUS. Although I did find her much more mature than Holly, so maybe that - and her beauty and poise - helped Matt decide in her favor over Holly. Wait till her sees her group skills, however!
I would hope that these women like Stacey and Kelly who pull stunts like getting drunk and p***ing out or ripping open their blouse are horrified when the show airs, but given the direction of the country I doubt it. Their parents probably brag about their daughter being on TV, even if she WAS a drunken sleaze. Ah, fame.
And what the hell with Kelly? If you're such a dang fabulous catch, honey, you wouldn't have to resort to degrading yourself on a show to compete for a man who's going to dump you later. Lord have mercy, these clueless idiots. Mostly I was glad to see smug-looking Ashlee sent packing. She SO gave the wrong answer when he asked about her not being in music.
That said, I really like Amanda, Noelle and (usually) Chelsea. Like it all matters.
You know what, I actually do apologize for judging anyone. I just actually don't find Marshana obnoxious at all and couldn't understand where the negativity was coming from. I just thought it was a race thing.
