'The Bachelor: London Calling': "#?*$ Him!"

Chelsea_bachelorlondoncalling_s12_2 Last week on 'The Bachelor: London Calling', Matt shocked the girls by sending Holly home, shocked Ashlee by sending her home, and shocked absolutely no one by sending Kelly after her. Six crazy, deluded, desperate spinsters remain!

Chris surprises the remaining six "ladies" with a ski trip to Sun Valley, Idaho, prompting a great deal of squealing from the assembling. Shayne, unsurprisingly, has packed for the snow - and every other eventuality - and equally unsurprisingly fancies herself a practically professional-grade skier. When the girls arrive they romp with Matt in the snow, and he reveals that he will be taking one of the girls on a one-on-one date. And it's Chelsea! She and Matt take a sleigh ride during  which she: calls Matt "buddy" twice; tells him hand-holding is her pet peeve; and tells him she's not an affectionate person by nature. Next! In an attempt to show her romantic side, she creates a faux "fantasy suite" card. Wait - is that some sort of automatic booty call card? OMG! They closed the door! That total prostitute!

Robin, Marshana, Amanda, and Shayne get a date box for a skiing date, which leaves Noelle as the final solo date. And - not that your loyal recapper has any personal favorites here - yay! Marshana and Amanda have never skied before, and Matt is really patient with her. She's pretty adorable and somehow refrains from meeping at him. Marshana falls over dramatically every time she gets up on the skis. Matt and Shayne grope each other on the ski lift before she snowboards down the mountain. Carrying lip gloss, a blush brush, and lipliner. As they make out in the snow, Robin pulls up on her snowboard, interrupting their kissing. Robin is the great interrupter. When she asks Matt why she never had a solo date with him, he tells her that it's because he already knew he had a connection with her. Nice save, Matt!

Noelle_bachelorlondoncalling_s12_24 Matt picks Noelle up and takes her ice skating. They hold hands and although they both struggle they clearly have a lot of fun together. Afterwards, they adjourn in front of the fire for fondue and wine, where she reveals that she's never brought a man home to meet her parents, but that she would love to introduce him to them. They kiss, and he's officially a ho. Back at the house, Robin picks a fight with Marshana over who knows Matt better. Marshana starts in on Robin for being condescending, and Chelsea really jumps on in with two feet. Marshana starts screaming and swearing, Chelsea joins in, and Robin does her best to just keep up with the sheer level of irrational bitchitude. Shayne, for once, is level-headed and does her best to separate Chelsea and Marshana. Marshana, for her part, confessionals that she is shocked that the other girls dislike her because - and I quote! - "I am a great person. I am nice, I am friendly, I am loving, I am so giving and so thoughtful and charitable and I am a great person." And you're no longer in this competition, sweetheart.

Robin_bachelorlondoncalling_s12_240 Back in LA for the rose ceremony, the girls strategize over how to show Matt Marshana's actions of the previous night. While Matt is talking to Marshana, Chelsea interrupts to spend some solo time with him, but Marshana refuses to leave. She drinks to her own confidence, and she actually...well, she actually seems to be drinking to a lot right now. Each of the girls pitches themselves for the forthcoming hometown dates, but he'll only be going with four girls, so he only has four roses. My weekly scientific analysis reveals that Marshana and Chelsea will be going home. And...wrong again! Chelsea stays and Robin goes in her stead. Annnnnnd sighs of relief all around on both counts.

Next week: home visits!

I couldn't be happier to see the rear views of both Robin and Marshana. I have a feeling Chelsea will be next to go, then Amanda, and that Noelle and Shayne will stick around to represent good and evil - errr, the final two. Which means, with my track record, that none of those things will happen! Thoughts?

I really believe that Amanda is going to be the lucky girl. I watch it every week, and she is still there. She is the only one with the sense not to talk and gripe about things that are going on. She keeps her mouth shut, which is probably the best thing to do. They would really look like a great couple, so I am still rooting for Amanda.

Man, I'm surprised Marshana's head didn't actually spin around a la "The Exorcist." Did they push her buttons, or what? I'm going to start using "I WILL NOT HAVE IT!" everytime someone annoys me. I thought her reaction was waaaaay overboard based on what was actually said to her. And the whole "I'm a great person..." speech? Well, like I said about Kelly last week: If you're so blasted wonderful, why are you having to prostitute yourself and your integrity and self respect out on a freakin' reality show to find "love"?

And at the beginning of the show, I actually kind of liked Marshana because she was so excited for the girls getting the one-on-one dates and I thought that was sweet.

Let's see: Love Amanda and Noelle, 50-50 on Chelsea, ick on Shayne because she's so self-centered and vapid and dumb. Although, I will say she shows some moxie on occasion. She doesn't mind telling people what she thinks. Well, "think" being relative.

Oh, and what's with the creepy preview of next week with Amanda's mother (apparently) rubbing Matt's nipple? Ewwwwwww!

bella | Apr 15, 2008 8:31:43 AM | #

I agree Chelsea should be the next to go. I like both Amanda & Noelle. Shayne is strange but she seems to have chemistry with Matt. At this point anything is better than Robin & Marshana. Loved your comment, Bella, about being surprised Marshana's head didn't spin around!

I am with you on the preview for next week being creepy....what the heck , I would die if my mother did that and on national tv no less. That poor girl I really feel for her.

I heard that Amanda's mom coming on to Matt is a practical joke...

i think shayne is gonna be the "one" he choses at the end. noelle might be the runner up
chelsea will be cut first and amanda after.u could see robin was pissed and shocked he really did play her....don't you think they should make a bachelor where there is like two houses for the women to actually take the whole fighting a lil less tensed and get them the chance not to feel the whole rivalry.cause i think it takes a lot to go compete with other women and to get to live with them might be so painful!!!

I would like to see a show with all the past batchelors and see if any got married to the girl they choose.
I was very happy to see Robin leave last night and the next one to leave I would like to see Shayne leave for very childish and needs to grow up more and less drinking
Whom ever Matt picks I wish him the best of luck

I'm looking forward to seeing Matt's hometown date with Shayne next week. I grew up when Lorenzo Lamas was on Falcon Crest and was a famous Hollywood horndog. In fact, I think I remember "baby" Shayne in the National Enquirer when she was born. Seeing LL go from sleazy man-whore to concerned father should be pretty funny. Also, he'll be able to sniff out Matt's "true intentions" really quickly, I think.

At the final three last night, I thought, oh well, I guess Noelle has edged out Amanda as the last nice girl standing, but at least either Robin or Marshana will also go. Imagine my delight when he saved Amanda and the other two hit the road!

Robin? Pure class: ([expletive] him!).

Marshana? A truly rare level of a misplaced sense of self-entitlement.

Tony | Apr 15, 2008 11:42:27 AM | #

I am sooo happy that Marshana got knocked off...I just wanted to slap her face when she went off the "ghetto" scale in the argument. Plus, I thought she was fake almost the entire time! I really like the final four, and am hoping Amanda or Noelle get Matt!

Raise your hand if you would like to see Billy Crystal answer Shayne's door in his white suit & cape and tiparillo and say " You Look Mahvalous"

YES, the mother-touching-his-nipples is a Practical Joke! I think Amanda will be the last girl standing - she was the first out of the limo and took his breath away then. She's been the one to beat ever since. However, Shayne pulling out makeup on the slopes was so funny I snorted wine through my nose laughing! She might win simply because she is so "out there".

MJ | Apr 20, 2008 11:33:49 AM | #

I think Shayne will win! Does anyone know what lipgloss she pulled out on the slopes??? I cant figure it out but would love to know!
Thanks

what does that even mean? calling marshana 'ghetto' is completely unwarranted and ridiculous. robin and chelsea attacked her, and she defended herself. was she a bit over the top? yes, but the other girls were wrong to say what they did.

at the end of the night, marshana exited with grace and class. robin's final comment was crude, unladylike and unnecessary. it seems as if she is the 'ghetto' one. or perhaps 'trailer trash' is the more appropriate terminology?

quoting jessica:
I just wanted to slap her face when she went off the "ghetto" scale in the argument.

Thank Gawwwwwwwd Marshana and Robin are gone... I WILL NOT STAND FOR IT to be otherwise! Now, who will be the "last girl standing"? Shayne and Matt seem to have a connection, but I'm still not buying that she isn't there just for a little "face time" on TV. I think Matt and Amanda seem more like "friends". My money is on Chelsea, believe it or not! What do you think?

BachelorBabeWannabe | Apr 21, 2008 8:12:57 PM | #

i think Chelsea has the best relationship with Matt and i think he likes her because at the beginning of the how Matt said he was attracted to outgoing humorous girls. But honestly i have a gut feeling that he will pick Amanda.

Sara | Apr 28, 2008 5:35:59 AM | #

He picks Chelsea!!! If you watch really closely on the previews for the final show when he is proposing, the girl's hand he is holding has the same nail polish as Chelsea when she is putting on her shoes. Thank goodness it won't be Shayne. She annoys me.

Betty | Apr 29, 2008 9:59:08 AM | #

Shayne is a sad pathetic girl. She is so needy. Matt will not choose her, he is more savvy than that. He will choose Chelsea!

capri | Apr 29, 2008 6:43:41 PM | #

What did Amanda call Matt when she was elliminated after the rose ceramony, when they bleeped it out?

laurie rigdon | Apr 29, 2008 7:09:34 PM | #

(Disappointingly saying)I think he's going to pick Chelsea to,if you watch the previews they do give clues...when she's putting on her shoes (the hand w/that dumb looking nail polish) and then when he puts the ring on her hand, again (the hand w/that dumb looking nail polish). It's her,I really did not like her,I do think she is beautiful. However, they won't last,...she doesn't even like to hold hands. They had a terrible start to the date and what guy is not going to say that the end of the date was not the best.I'm sorry, but putting on lingerie is not what being romantic is all about, that was just "ronchy" to even show that.
Shayne and Matt have the best chemistry because she is real, herself and funny.I just really hope that i'm wrong... I think this is probably going to be the first time that I end up crying on this show.
