Tiffanie_girlicious This is it. The moment you (may) have been waiting for. We finally get to learn who made the group on The Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious. Booyahkah.

Spoilers

The awkwardly artistic PCD video message congratulates the girls for making it this far but didn't give any specific challenge. The remaining five go to see Robin et al and Nichole gives a teary thanks on behalf of everyone for seeing something in them, which in turn gets Robin all misty.

The challenge this week is to take everything they've learned and put it to the stage while showcasing their own personalities. As a group they'll be singing Kool & the Gang's "Ladies Night." For solos, Charlye will sing "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood, Tiffanie was assigned "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman" by Aretha Franklin, Natalie gets "Say It Right" by Nelly Furtado (not her most vocally challenging single), Nichole will perform EnVogue's "Giving Him Something He Can Feel," and Chrystina got "What About Love" by Heart. Chrystina isn't very happy with the choice because she doesn't know the song. How does she not know that song? Oh, that's right. Because all the contestants are, like, 12.

Before they get started on their solos, Robin lets them know that Geffen Records CEO Ron Fair will have one-on-ones with each of them to get to know them better. When asked how "compatible" she is with everyone else in the house, Natalie, in true PR fashion, says she feels she's the most "compatible" out of the other girls. Which to a certain extent is true because she'll act however she needs to act to get by. Nichole tells Ron that she has no commitment issues whatsoever to the group. When Ron asks how the personalities will blend, Chrystina says that it'll definitely work with her because she wants to be in the group regardless of the other members. Tiffanie says how excited she is about doing the work that goes into making the "band" a success (late nights, early mornings, etc.). Charlye, when asked if she'd really be able to get along with everybody, admits that she has times where she clashes with Natalie and Chrystina. When Ron inquires what she'd do if she didn't make the group, Charlye replies, "I'm not going to lie, I'll probably go back to school." They end her segment with Ron stating that, no matter what happens, they're looking for someone who's going to "hold [our] hands and jump off the cliff with us." While I appreciate her honesty, I'm pretty sure she just submarined herself. Dive! Dive!

During solo rehearsal, Chrystina's got a bit of a sour puss on. Musical Director Dave Aude tells her that this is one of about 10 songs that can give him chills. That perks her up a bit. She's still having lyric issues and, despite some underpinnings of encouragement from Kenn Hicks, she ends up being frustrated after rehearsal. Natalie tells her that they gave that song because there's so much feeling in it and, if she really connects with it and the audience, she could make people cry. And that's why Natalie is so bloody smart. She really understands the "Show" part of "Show Business."

At the choreography session for "Ladies' Night," Tiffanie is goofing around and making Robin and Mikey laugh. Cue Natalie circling about like a shark in the water. She got all inward and bitter after that and had a crisis of confidence as a result. Charlye tried to talk her out of that mindset but it wasn't 100% effective.

On a phone call to her mom, Charlye admits that she doesn't feel exactly part of the group and voices her doubts. Her mom, in true momma fashion, verbally smacks her back to the reality of the situation - school will be there, this opportunity is here and now.

After a montage of the girls working on their solos and sharing their pre-final performance thoughts in confessionals, we get to Performance Night. That was kind of quick.

The group number is first. It seemed a bit haphazard but that could be because of the quick-cut editing. Mark McGrath makes his requisite appearance and, when introducing the judges, refers to Ron Fair as "The Velvet Fist." That nickname kind of weirds me out. It sounds like the name of a foppish yet deadly supervillian.

Tiffanie sings her song, "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman," first. She didn't want to over-sing the song and I think she held back the reins just enough. All the judges gave her great comments with Robin saying she "sounded like perfection tonight."

Charlye is next doing "Before He Cheats," which is not an easy song to sing. Lil' Kim looks like she's enjoying it but Ron Fair has pensive-face. It wasn't the best she's ever done but I like her sparkly black mini-dress and knee-high boots. She gets positive marks though Lil' Kim notes that there seemed like there was a little something missing.

Performing third is Nichole with "Giving Him Something Can Feel." She also gets pensive faces from the judges. She's does something completely different with the melody which may explain it since they all give her good comments.

Natalie is next with "Say It Right." She sounds good but she's doing to many gasping breaths during the verse for my taste - I found it distracting. Robin compared her to Jennifer Lopez, in a good way, because she's a really good performer. Ron Fair went momentarily insane and compared her stage-presence to Marilyn Monroe. Not that I don't understand what he's saying but...wow. Lil' Kim says that her slight disadvantage is that when Natalie isn't close to the fans, she'll have to "work it even more" but to keep up what she's doing.

Lastly, Chrystina takes the stage with "What About Love." Robin and Lil' Kim smile a bit and Ron Fair has pensive face for the umpteenth time. And, towards the end of the performance, holy crap Ron Fair smiled. Robin says it's hands down her best performance, Lil' Kim and Ron are both really impressed especially since she wasn't originally familiar with the song. Chrystina got all teary as Ron was giving her props.

After the judges discuss the girls, their progress, and if they're right for the group, we've come to the moment of truth. The girls come out in another costume change.

Nichole_girlicious Nichole is the first girl who Robin congratulates on being in the group.

She calls Tiffanie next. Two down and one to go.

To switch it up, the next name she calls is the girl who won't be in the group...and it's Charlye. Her submarine must set sail. Dive! Dive!

Natalie and Chrystina are left and hug and hold hands while Robin give them the pros and cons of each person possibly being in the group. Chrystina has been hampered by nerves but tonight she had a breakthrough. Can she be consistently good? Natalie isn't a great singer but she's a great performer. Do her strengths trump her weaknesses?

And, after about 4 more minutes of lead up, the final member is...both of them. They decided that all four girls will be in the group. And that's what Charlye karmic-ly gets for not joining the peace accord.

Chrystina_girlicious At the end of the episode we're treated to the premiere of their music video, a track called "Like Me" produced by Jazzy Phe. One of the lyrics is, "If I had a stiff one, you'd be all up on it." That's hilarious to me. They gave Chrystina a second make over, lightening her hair and putting some extensions in it. I hate it. It's a decent track and it'll probably get all kinds of airplay on Clear Channel.

So, that's it. Do you like the group? I'm not particually surprised at the outcome, are you? Would you have preferred it be a 3 person group or is 4 better? Did you like the single? And do you think you'd be more interested in the group if you hadn't watched the show?

Comments

I agree that the outcome was inevitable. They clearly wanted Tiffanie in the group and there was no way that Nichole wouldn't be in it (they had to take at least 1 white girl) - sorry about using race here, but I couldn't imagine the group w/o a white girl from second 1 of the show - so they had to either take Charlye or both Natalie and Chrystina. The way they edited this ep and the previous couple of eps it was clear that Charlye was out. What was funnier to me was that it seemed that both Natalie and Chrystina knew they were both going to be in the group the way the elimination was presented. Good luck to the group. I'm pretty sure that we won't be seeing another PCD show next year so it was a nice series finale.

wow wow wow.wack wack finale. there is 2 girls in this group that will make it sink ...and it is chrystina and Nathalie. I will not deny it she has the show concept in her blood but oh God what a self centered spoiled brat!!!she and Chrystina lose all control when people do not look at them like if the world should have just 2 pretty ,sexy girls and that should be them.Where do they think this is going with an attitude like that.i am happy for nichole and Tiffanie it takes them to balance the other 2 brats!!! Charlye was honest 2 herself until the end,and just for that i admire her, was it the smartest move...not sureat least she was seen on tv and from there might get recognize for that. good luck to girlicious hope u don't finish like PCD with 1 lead singer!!

so a few things:
1)i con't believe ron fair smiled (highlight of the whole season)
2)i think the group should have been nicole, tiffanie & charlye cuz natalie is an idiot and christyna did only one good performance (the finale)
3)the music video is kinda trashy. they look like strippers. the guy in the video is wearing more clothes than all of the girls combined
whatever hopefully this will be like the pussycat dolls search..no one will near from them again.

Dory | Apr 24, 2008 8:40:36 AM | #

Agree that the video made them look REALLY trashy. I knew they were going for a more urban vibe, but it wasn't "girlish" or kittenish, but kinda slutty...
Personally, I like Christyna's new look - she's VERY pretty and I think that's her place in the group (like Natalie); because she certainly isn't a consistently good performer. Tiffanie and Nichole will be the talent. Unlike PCD, I don't think there's a breakout lead, so they may be able to be a 'real' group and make this work.

i knew it was gonna be tiff, nichole, and natalie for the las five weeks and was actually surprised when they added chystina. i mean i think the three girls would of been good enough but it does not effect it enough adding a fourth girl. the video is what i expected, def pussycat doll material. they all looked hot and the song was catchy.

kydd | Apr 24, 2008 10:01:22 AM | #

I wish they would have picked tiffiney, charlie, and nichole because first of all I hate natalie she thinks she's all that and christina, she's okay but I wish they would have voted natalie out. She does not belong in that group she is a bitch, I hate her. Charlie performed her ass off and it was wrong in the end because she deserve to be in GIRLICIOUS. I wish Charlie the best and do not give up on your dream. Charlie, was really cool and she's pretty. Her, Tiffaney and Nicole got along very well. They need to kick Natalie out the group she can not sing and she not hot like the rest of the girls, she is a bitch and I can not stand her.

renee thompson | Apr 24, 2008 10:14:42 AM | #

OMG... i love the group... i mean Christina is kewl... i love Natalie too.... tiffanie is a great singer and Nicole is alrite but together they're amazing... they made a good choice of them... charlie gets on my nerve im glad she got sent home.... cuz the rest is good they way they r... charlie has issues....

Lil' Girl | Apr 24, 2008 10:27:02 AM | #

Well since we dont have brady bunch anymore i guess a stipper video is the norm for teen television. Next year after the group bombs (but they will say we sold 100,000 units) they will have anther year for a 5th member it will be great!!! i feel sorry for anyone raising girls REAL SORRY

My daughters and I watched f rom start to finish and our guess was Tiffanie, Natalie, and Chrystina for the group. Nichole is a good performer but she spent WAY too much time acting like a spoiled brat instigating fights between the other girls, being in a group is more than about singing...Natalie and Tiffanie both were able to mature during the course of the show...Chrystina has always had the most talent except she let the other girls cattiness get to her...looking forward to hearing more from this group!

em | Apr 24, 2008 2:17:06 PM | #

Um...I think you're confusing Nichole and Natalie...

| Apr 24, 2008 5:28:28 PM | #

Omgah I LOVE the group choice! I was always routing for Chrystina! She was always my fav n I wanted her to pull thru her issues! Tiffanie is bomb...Nichole is ok...Natalie is great too! They're gonna be very successful! God bless them!

Well well well, Robin, Ron, and Lil Kim,

What the hell were you thinking, not putting Charlye in the group. Charlye was consistent throughout the whole show. Everytime she performed, she blew the house down. That girl worked so damn hard. Obviously she wasn't feeling Natalie and Christina, but who would, their idiots. Lil Kim, u should know more than anyone some people just don't click and Charly made that clear, that she can't click with those girls. But she obviously clicks with Nicole and Tiffanie which everybody that was watching clicked to those two as well. Christina can't sing, Nataile very pretty, but damn, she can't sing either. When you picked Nicole, I was like YES, then you picked Tiffanie and I was like YES, then you eliminate the best person on the damn show, are you guys on drugs. Then to piss a lot of people off, you go put the two idiots that can't sing or dance better than Charlye. Trust me, Charlye, Nicole, and Tiffanie would of been the perfect group and a lot of people would been happy. They would of sold a lot of records and they would click better than the group you put together.

Natalie is hot, hot, hot. I don't care if she's not a great singer.

Sean | Apr 25, 2008 3:52:35 PM | #

Charlye, was honest because Tiff and Nicole didn't get along either and if you read after the show , it was a power struggle between the same girls and Nicole is named
the lead singer of the group

Felicia Washington | Apr 25, 2008 5:50:27 PM | #

I am disappointed that Charlye didn't make it. This young lady was consistent from beginning to the end. Are the judges on crack? Who the hell gets along in groups these days? Dont tell me none of the PCD are jealous of their lead singer Nicole. They just keep it inside. I like Tiff and Nicole. I like Natalie but she is arrogant. I have to admit Charlye should have sucked up her differences is she really wanted to make it. I have to agree that she did sink her on ship. However I would have picked her anyway. She is awesome!!

Kitabear | Apr 27, 2008 8:49:39 AM | #

Charlye should hav been in at group...i dont care if she had doubts..dont we all...She wuz rite wot she said, if its her dream it shud b rite, n there shhud be no public actin involved..she shudnt be stuck wit 2 selfrighteous cows who think the sun shines out their behinds natalie, chrystina.

Natalie sucks, she pisses me off and she cannt sing...the like me video proves wot i said cos all she did wuz talk..

chrystina i liked til she became just lik natlie..a moanin, boring *****

tifannie is gangsta i love her, she made me laugh through the whole thing

Nicole we all knew wuz gonna be in the group from the start..even she knew it so i donno y she wuz actin suprised...

charlie i loved her from the start and i think it is a good thing she didnt make the group cos she's gonna go further by herself...no doubt

I like the like me song, not so much the video, and the stupid shit video looked a hot mess and the fact they let ntalie sing more than one verse ruined everything.

i bet u ron nd robin r regrettin their discussion..it shudda bin a 3 ppl group wit nicole charlie and chrystina...think about it

Del | Apr 27, 2008 10:30:10 AM | #

Charlye will make it on her own. She was smart to voice her opinion and get out while she still had her dignity. Honestly, what girl group has longevity when the girls don't get along? TLC-Left Eye was a brat, Destiny's Child-it took them a couple of tries to find a good fit, The Supremes-Diana was a trip and they still argue whenever they're broadcasted, Envogue-they kicked out Dawn and then went left field with their music, SWV-CoCo was the group, and even PCD-can you name any other group member other than Nicole? Let's face it, women are catty and unless you're related (i.e.Sister Sledge) and/or were raised in the same house with the same values you're gonna clash. And the group is going down............. Both Tiffany and Natalie are going to want to be lead. Nicole's demeanor will get her far as long as she stays in the group. And Chrystina should be grateful her father is an ex-ball player, cause she's insecure and the "business" is gonna eat her alive. One hit wonders is my prediction even if they take off more clothes than they did in their video.

Nikki Nice | Apr 28, 2008 9:23:05 AM | #

I was hoping it would be Chrystina, Natalie and Nicole because they're all hot and they all can sing. Chrys and Natalie are best friends and Nichole is two-faced and seems to be able to gel with anyone, so she would a decent bet for the group... plus, girl's got soul. But Tiffanie? Lady looks like a dude. Seriously though, what is she doing in the group? She's ghetto.

Jen | Apr 28, 2008 9:29:47 AM | #

I am happy charlie was true to herself, because in the long run, it wouldn't been sucessful, plus I know I can't live in no bodys shadow asnd it s better to truly happy then to dislike the people you work with I feel that natalie and chrystina got in because of image control, but I really didn't feel them cause they thought that they was all that, I will love to see what happen after chaylie left because it seems that they left some parts out.

felicia | Apr 28, 2008 4:14:31 PM | #

UGGGHHHH. Chrystina's dad must be bankrolling the group because there is no way she deserved to be chosen over Charlye. Look up 'entitled' in the dictionary and her sour puss face will show up right next to it. I didn't think Chrystina "shined" (as Robin says - are these people even educated?) even once. She was weak, inarticulate and too self-conscious. I think they included her to make diva Natalie happy, seriously. But Charlye had a little bit of a personality problem, as well. But judging by how they're marketing the group - very heavy on the sex - maybe she's OK with the results. Did anyone like the videos? The girls all had frowny faces in it, especially Tiffanie (who looks great when she smiles). They don't look like they're having fun yet. Oh well.

Moogs | Apr 30, 2008 3:43:51 AM | #

yea the group I would have chose, which many people would agree, is Tiffanie Nicole and Charlye. Christina sucks she didn't deserve it. Charlye wanted that spot just because she didn't show emotion more doesn't mean she didn't want it. Natalie is conceited, not that pretty, and not a great singer. And putting 4 people in a group after you kicked off Charlye is a big slap in the face and that was messed up. You just gassed Christina's head up and made Natalie happy because she has her only little friend with her. I'm very disapppointed in your decision!!!!!!!!!!

D.A. | May 1, 2008 7:24:12 AM | #

hey i think they pick great girls to be in the group. They didn't pick the bad ones because one they were bad. My prediction was that it was going to be Carrie, Nichole, and Natalie. But Carrie got eliminated,so my next prediction was Natalie, Nichole, and Tiffanie. I was surprised that Chrystina won it to, but i had a feeling that they were goin to make Girlicious 4 members. That is what these type of shows do. I watched the series from start to finish and the people i didn't like was Charlye because she started the drama in the first place, and Jenna, because she was just plain bad just like Charlye. Charlye was the main cause for the drama. People may think she was pretty and had a great voice, she wasn't pretty she looked like a sack of rotten eggs, and she didn't have a great singing voice. I'm not trying to but people in shame. I'm not trying to ruin anyone's career. But that is just my thought on the girls that were in the house. Go GIRLICIOUS!!!!!!!
