Joelanderson_survivor_micronesia_24 Wow, another week, another 43 minutes of betrayal, complicated challenges, and reversals of fortune interspersed with some quality information regarding products that will enhance and improve your life! Put down that active lifestyle, grab your Tivo remote, dial in Survivor: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites,  and let's roll!

The claws come out, you go boy! We start with the Fans walking back to camp as Jason bemoans the fact that Chet is still sitting across from him. Chet, on the other hand, appears to be emboldened, telling Tracy that he can't wait until Jason hits the road.

Thus ends a chicken, thus ends the tribes. Meanwhile, back on the Faves side of the coin, Ozzy appears unsatisfied with pwning his human competition, and he takes his aggression out on one of last week's prize chickens, providing dinner for the tribe. Flush with his victory over the fowl, Ozzy shares his immunity idol news with the other three lovebirds -- James, Parvati, and Amanda, but not before hiding the idol in a safe place.

Both tribes are surprised at the reward challenge with a tribal shakeup. Faves and Fans are mixed together, and the new tribes break down like this:

New Malakal -- Ozzy, Joel, Amanda, Erik, Ami, Tracy, Cirie, Chet

New Airai -- Natalie, James, Alexis, Jonathan, Jason, Parvati, Kathy, Eliza

With little time to orient themselves with their new teammates, members are tethered together. The challenge is something like a modified game of flag football. While pair #1 tries to make their way through an obstacle course, pair #2 tries to chase them down and pull the flags attached to pair #1's heads. If pair #1 can run around for a minute without getting caught, they win the round, if pair #2 grabs the flag off of a member of pair #1, they win the round. A lovely barbecue dinner is at steak (bad puns, get used to them.) A tight game ensues, ending with team Joel dragging his partner Chet around the course in a vain attempt to catch Parvati and Eliza. Joel's response to Chet's objections at being dashed against the obstacles in the course -- "I don't care."  Way to respect human life, Joel.

Not in the face, not in the face!  Wait, NOT IN THE KNEE! Malakal returns to their camp to regroup, content with the fact that they are at the better beach. Chet finds an analogy between the pecking order for chickens and the pecking order in Survivor, displaying an awareness of his tenuous position. Airai begins to cook their reward dinner, but the overall crappiness of their camp works against them as waves snuff out their cooking fire. Fortunately, James is around to express the viewer's disbelief at the ineptitude of the Fans. "Dingbats" is the word he used, I believe.  The knee that Jonathan had injured in the competition catches up to him, and the Survivor medics swoop into action. After giving him a shot IN THE KNEE, he is sutured up and sent on his way.

The next day, at camp Malakal, Joel and Ozzy have their own version of G8 out on the water, discussing who they will get rid of at the next tribal council. Ozzy offers up Cirie of the favorites, while Joel is willing to sacrifice Chet (shocker) from the numbers of the fans. Umm, they do intend on competing from there on out, right?

Chet can't possibly screw up again, can he? Airai starts to come together as a tribe, building a new shelter, with the Faves leading the way.  Back on Malakal, Ozzy's love for Amanda deepens when she returns to him with a four-foot shark in her arms. Just as I thought, the way to Ozzy's heart is by displaying your dominance over nature.

At the immunity challenge, members must break tiles to release puzzle pieces. Airai falls behind quickly, but the difficulty of the puzzle allows them the opportunity not only to catch up, but to defeat Malakal! Nobody at Airai is going home, but with Chet in the key position of puzzle solver for the defeated Malakal tribe, can he be long for Micronesia?

A strong tribe vs. a strong chance. The inferiority of the fans has dawned upon Joel and Erik, as Joel inspires the title of this Survivor episode by calling Chet a "ball of goo."  Joel makes plans to get rid of the weaker players with Ozzy and Amanda.  Just when the momentum against Chet appears to be building, Cirie identifies herself as a weaker player, and makes her own move on Amanda and Ozzy.  Chet, she argues, isn't the competitor that Joel is, but that makes Joel the bigger threat.  Thus, the eternal question -- do you make your tribe stronger, or your own chances of winning?

At tribal council, Joel's attitude and treatment of Chet is the topic of conversation before the tribe votes.  Ciries's efforts to protect herself are successful as Joel is voted off.  Once again, Chet's neck is saved by a woman on his tribe. Jeff makes the observation that Malakal appears to be unconcerned about how strong they are as a tribe.

What next for our heroes?  Will Ozzy continue to slice his way through the competition on his own tribe, the buxom Amanda at his side?  Is it going to be Faves vs. Fans, or Malakal vs. Airai?  Will Chet continue back his way onto the jury?  Is some sucker gonna fall for that fake immunity idol?  Oooh, savor the possibilities!

I would definitely watch out for Cirie. She know how to talk itself into position with the tribe.

Watching this Chet guy makes me sad.

See ya, Joel! What an obnoxious loser.

What do ya'll think of Ozzy TELLING his group (Amanda, James, Parvati) about the idol? Don't ya think he should have kept it a SECRET? I think it may work against him. Ozzy was smart to hide the idol, and was lucky to keep the camp where he's got it stashed! I'm still wondering about the so called "idol blunder". Bye bye Joel, sore LOSER!

While I wasnt sorry to see "The Hulk" go I do wonder at the wisdom of keeping Chet. Why did this man come on the show anyway? He is very weak in every way possible. And why in the world is everyone still listening to Queen Lazy Fat Cirie??? So now Ozzy has Chet,Cherie and Tracy on his side, wow, big help they will be inphysical challeneges. Or maybe the show will belike last season and have few physicals. They seem to be gearing anymore toward weak players. I want to see James knock down a tree!!!

Man, Joel was not a loser or anything. Chet was and continues to be a disgrace to the game. He doesn't do jack squat and he is still there? BS. He deserved to be dragged around in the challenge because he couldn't keep up with Joel.

Oh well, the two most dominant and outspoken Fans are gone. There are some dark horses for the Fans though, so it will be interesting how things progress.

joel's post-eviction comments proved ridiculously 'un-self-aware'. his own actions saddled his team with chet, contributing to the defeat(s). then he expresses shock that the same thing happened to him.

joel appears to be one of those guys he believes himself to be a bit smarter and 'cleverer' than he is. admittedly, alot of people fall into that trap--even me on occasion. being a 'superfan' and thinking too far ahead too early in the game clearly backfired.

in the big picture, if you keep a bunch of weak people/floaters around, they suddenly become a big troubling voting block.

You have to respect Ciries game as it certainly did appear she engineered the last 2 Tribal Council votes she was involved in. What's more she will be safe at least another Tribal Council since her tribe will vote Chet off before her. So even though she's not one of my faves, kudo's have to go to her.

As far as Ozzie and Amanda agreeing to do it? That may come back to bite them. Chet may be a pawn, but he won't be their pawn. Joel's contempt for the fans made him more ammenable to being manipulated by them. Additionally, Cirie is proving dangerous to have around and has no binding commitment to him and Amanda (She could just as easily enginneer her, Eliza and the 3 fans voting off Ozzie or Amanda next week). Lastly, Jonathan is no gurantee to honor the Faves vs Fans ideology either, so now it would appear that Ozzies bet strategy is to throw immunity challenges in order to get rid of as many "enemies" as he can while at the same time trying to incorporate some new friends from the 3 remaining fans. That way James and Parvati will still be around when the tribes merge and they will be able to consolidate a majority voting bloc. Thats a risky strategy.

All the same Joel (Tank) appeared to be quite a subhuman douche and I'm not sorry to see him go. He definately seems to have been bit by an ironic karma bug.

sorry that was Ami who is in with Cirie, not Eliza. She may be harder to flip as she has more loyalty, but she wasn't in Ozzies aliance so she really has no loyalty to him.

Idiot! Yep, that's Joel.

Does he think that being a bully is going to get him far? I agree that Chet is weak. But this is what the editors are showing us, Chet moping around and looking weak. To be fair to Chet, Joel was pretty worthless in all the challenges. He's a big lug with a little brain. he got played once by Tracy and again by the whole tribe!

Cirie and Tracy are very smart. And Ozzy is very dumb for telling his little group about the Idol. Hello? He's been on the show before. Did you not learn anything?

If you're going to tell someone make sure it's not "Big Mouth" James.

Peace.
