'Dancing with the Stars': Week 2 Results
On tonight's Dancing with the Stars, two celebs go home - twice the eliminations with the same amount of filler!
Spoilers
After host Tom Bergeron talks us through a recap of last night's dancing complete with the thoughts of the stars, Len lets us know which couple gets the encore nod. It's Jason Taylor & Edyta, which I'm cool with as he's all kinds of man-pretty. Oh, and he did a good job too. They get a standing ovation this time through as well. Before we go to commercial, Tommy B. reveals the name of the first male celebrity safe...and it's Steve Guttenberg! Viva Le Guttes!
Our first bit of filler comes courtesy of The Jonas Brothers (aka Hanson v.2.0). They perform A-ha's soul-stirring opus "Take On Me" while Anna, Jonathan, Edyta and Tony dance. Now, I hold nothing against the curly-haired rascals, but they'll never remake this song to my satisfaction. Because...A-ha.
Post-commercial break, Jason & Edyta are saved as well as Mario & Karina. The second chunk of filler comes courtesy of all the stars talking about how much it would suck to get sent home, especially first. Even Adam doesn't want to be first out.
Back from yet another break, Tom and Samantha review the judges' comments for the three remaining male celebs before revealing that Adam Corolla of all people has been saved. Rats. Tom then talks to the judges - Len says it'd be a shame if Cristian went home because he has such potential, adding he can win, while Carrie Ann says they'll miss the fun Penn brings to the floor. Bruno says that he thinks Penn should go home and the viewers agree with him. Poor Penn and poor Kym. She just can't catch a break. From Penn's departure, we jump right into the score rankings for the women and it's announced that Shannon & Derek are safe.
Filler #3: Cameron Mathieson hopping about the streets of New York (wearing his caped "Super Cameron" costume) to ask the public what they think. They're calling him "Dance Machine." He's a nerd but he's still attractive. Next is the Stars of Dance segment featuring an aerial extravaganza courtesy of Cirque du Soliel. There's metal speheres, wire work, suspended ribbons - all partner stunts almost all the time. It was incredibly impressive. So much so that I barely paid attention to the house band's version of Meatloaf's "I Would Do Anything For Love."
After the commercials, we get another number from The Jonas Brothers - my ten-year-old niece informs me that the song is called "When You Look Me In The Eyes" - as Louie and Cheryl dance. At the risk of angering teenies everywhere, there's something about that lead singer kid that irks me. Maybe it's because his hair has been blow dried straight and it weirds me out for some reason. After an odd backstage interview with Adam, Julianne, Shannon & Derek, Tom lets Marlee & Fabian and Kristi & Mark off the hook.
Back from the last break of the night, Tom and Samantha review the judges' comments for the remaining female celebs before revealing that Priscilla Presley is safe. Bruno doesn't get suckered into saying which woman should go home this time but it matters not because Monica Seles is being sent home anyway.
Monica & Jonathan join Penn & Kym for the final dance to...ugh. Sheryl Crow's "The First Cut Is The Deepest."
Gutten-ism of the Day: "Life is all about enjoying the moments because life is fleeting."
Do you agree with who went home? Should Adam be around for another week despite practicing the least out of everyone?

I am so glad Cameron got more use out of that ridiculous costume! That was beyond silly!
I liked Cameron's segment. It was very cute.
I'm going to miss Jonathan and Kym. I think that they are both great dancers and teachers. I hope that they do some performances on results nights this season. The Jonas Brothers are definately not my favorite teen idols right now.
I do think it is silly the way they announce a "safe" contestant. Like the ones they announced early on were a big surprise. Even with that, I was glad that Steve Guttenberg was the first "safe" contestant announced. I wasn't surprised, though. He was a shoo-in just because of his personality. I do hope he stays around for several weeks, just because I love his attitude.
Was that Sabra from "So You Think You Can Dance?" in the stars of dance segment?
And I thought the "singing" by the Jonas Brothers was awful. They're certainly not popular because of their voices.
No worries Penny, Anna is married to Jonathan - I am sure they will be dancing together on results night!
So, I am thinking that the Jonas Brothers are a ha's kids - I haven't seen poofed out hair like that since the 80's!
I am so glad Edyta finally has a hot man so she doesn't have to slither around an old fat one anymore! They were pretty hot - if he weren't married they would definitely be my pick for most likely to be rumored to be having an affair!
Oh, and if Kristy doesn't win this thing hands down, I don't know if I can watch season 7. She is probably the best EVER. (Yeah, even better than Sabrina)
The Jonas brothers sang off key, were awful, and basically unbearable. I was surprised Penn left instead of Adam Corolla. Must be the Julianne fans.
OMG, yawn. What a boring waste of two hours.
One bright spot though - no Jimmy Kimmel!
Hate to see Penn go. He was fun to watch. I always waited to see what he had up his sleeve :)
Unfortunately, Monica did have to go. Kudos for trying.
Please,Please get Adam off of the stage. He stinks!!!
