'Big Brother: 'Til Death Do You Part' Crazy is as crazy does
Tonight, on Big Brother: 'Til Death Do You Part, the Great Lesbian Caper came home to roost. Or some other mixed metaphor for the fact that Josh's anger finally simmered long enough to become a nice thick glaze of "Oh, no she didn't!".
But first, let's review. Operation condor was a success and Alex & Amanda were evicted from the house, after much changing of votes, many debates and more than a few tears. Joshuah & Sharon were especially put out by the sudden change in votes that opted to keep Matt & Natalie - widely believed to be the two strongest players in the game. Which is, perhaps, why they found their victory in the HoH competition especially sweet. Sweet and confidence building, as Joshuah took the sense of power to heart and got right in Allison's face, promising to make her life miserable, with a side dish of cursing her out.
Joshuah cameratalks about how his anger comes from her elaborate lies about being in a relationship with Shelia and having an adopted son and so forth. His stance is that she used the pain of coming out and being gay against him, as a way to get him on her side, and he resents her using his sexuality against him. Which I totally get - but why not also be angry with Shelia? Even more surprising than the singular quality of Joshuah's anger is Allison's reaction to it. Well, at first, she acts just as we've come to expect: by calling him names, and smirking in an superior manner. But then she goes to the bathroom and starts washing her face and crying. It's unsettling to be confronted with the idea that she is not completely without a heart.
But then Ryan comes in to comfort her and she climbs right back up on her high horse and starts ranting about how she knows everyone in the house is intimidated by what an amazing person she is, but that she still doesn't deserve to be spoken to in that manner. I am confused about if she means the manner Joshuah spoke to her, or the way she spoke to him, but I suppose that's because I do not have a ticket to ride her crazy train. And boy howdy, has it left the station. She comes back later and confronts Ryan and Matt, telling that that she's tired of getting beat up in the house, that they should be ashamed of themselves for not coming to her defense and that Joshuah better pray her never meets her dad. So, the most intimidating person in the house needs to call her daddy to make people stop being mean to her?
Meanwhile, after a few confrontations between himself and Allison, Joshuah decides to tell the house about her Lesbian Lie - including her partner, Ryan. As luck would have it, Ryan is chatting with Chelsia when Joshuah gives him the news and she immediately corroborates it, admitting she was completely manipulated by Allison and Shelia for 11 days. Ryan is appropriately gobsmacked and goes to confront Allison about her lying - but she's several countries away by now, most likely approaching the breakaway republic of Smokingcrackistan. She tells him it was a joke, all Shelia's idea, only lasted a week and that it doesn't matter because Joshuah and Chelsia didn't believe her anyway. He counters with it wasn't funny, Shelia said it was her idea, everyone admitted it lasted nearly 2 weeks and everyone believed. Allison's big comeback? "Why are you being such a jerk"?
Food Competition:
It was pretty easy this week, but most interestingly, had the house working together as a single team, as everyone would benefit from the most people who won. It is the first thing we see tonight that would make John Nash proud. Well, proud if his strategy for equilibrium were not being used by the players of Big Brother, that is. Anyway, the competition has each couple working together to win a category of food for the house - which means in essence that as long as at least 1 couple manages to complete the task successfully, no one is on slop. I think it's safe to assume that this is in response to the fact that two HGs were rushed to the emergency last week. The that the guys must match the weight of their partners - in asparagus. All of the partners, with the help of the HoHs, manage to get within 10 pounds of the girl's weight except for Matt and Natalie. So, the house gets to eat meats, cheeses, fruits, veggies, snacks and beverages.
Allison decides to go after Joshuah - again. She attempts to attack his education, his appearance, his salary, and whatever else she can think of. He retaliates by inviting the whole house except her and Ryan up to the HoH room to discuss their strategy. The Nash equilibrium is at work again, as everyone agrees to get Allison out of the house ASAP. Which sucks for Ryan, since his only crime is having been unlucky enough to be partnered with a psychopath. Downstairs, isolated from everyone else, she tries to convince Ryan that she can easily manipulate Joshuah back to their side, but he just tells her that's impossible and walks away form her. At the first opportunity, she goes upstairs to talk to Sharon & Joshuah, and basically begs for forgiveness and assurance that she's safe - but she gets neither. And thus, it's no big shock when Allison & Ryan are put on the block with Natalie & Matt. Though Matt is less then pleased to be there, again.
The Funny:
(In response to Natalie wanting to "cuddle")
Matt: Promise you won't get emotionally attached to me.
Natalie: I won't. But might get emotionally attached to me!
Matt: No, I won't.
Allison: You know how much I love you!
Joshuah: I have nothing to say to you.
Matt: Everyone thinks we're the strongest couple, and maybe physically, yeah. But...mentally wise, Natalie...I have a weakness there.
(For the record, "mentally wise", people in glass houses shouldn't throw black kettles. And that's my last metaphor mix-up for the evening!)

while Allison has definitely demonstrated all types of crazy (i'm better for Ryan than Jen...after 2 days, lesbian lie), Josh has also proven pretty unbalanced with his blow ups directed at Amanda and Allison.
recapper Jessica's point about Joshuah's anger being directed solely at Allison hit me quickly during the show. the reason he appears to be downplaying Shelia's role is because her partnership with Adam poses little to no threat in the house.
further, Allison raised the point that his anger really only manifested after he won HOH. this indicates he simply wanted an excuse to nominate (and berate) her.
at least when **** became unhinged and abusive last season, it appeared more genuine and less game calculated. in any case, both **** and Joshuah appear to have alotta practice with the explosive abusive anger.
Allison is the one who I dislike least on this show, so I really hope she doesn't get ousted this week. This is the ugliest (and least interesting) cast ever for BB! I hope the summer edition is better than this mess. This is the first season where I don't follow the house events everyday, and don't really care what happens.
great re-cap Jessica.
Jeez! What a nut-job that Allison is. Her crazy train has long left the station and is approaching the last stop.
I usually like the interesting (mean) characters (like **** last season), but Allison is no match for him. She's a nasty little thing. I feel bad for Ryan, because he like Alex before him have had to endure the ugliness of these unstable wacked-out women. What is up with that!
James and Chelsia need to buddy-up to Joshuah and Sharon. The rest are dead weight, and pretty stupid.
Peace.
Why are the women so insane!!! This partner idea is terrible, because all these decent guys are getting dragged down by the wacked out chicks they are paired with. Besides Joshuah, all the men are the calmer heads that can't seem to prevale over the insanity. James and Chelsia have the best chance at winning because they are the only team actually playing the game!
PS. Allison totally scares me. And not in an intimadating way, but in a completley frightening, definately psycho sort of way. Ryan should be very, very afraid.

allison is only intimidated by joshuah because he is the only one that she knows she can't manipulate by offering herself sexually.
Worst BB cast of all time. I pretty much despise them all. I guess I don't hate Sharon and Chelsia yet, and if one of them wins, I'll be marginally pleased. James isn't bad for a skeevy dude with awful tattoos. He seems to at least get that this is a GAME.
Some things revealed on Showtime After Dark but ignored on Sunday's show.
Alison accused Joshua of threatening to Slit her throat. (this was most likely a lie, I believe to get sympathy)
Matt is absolutely right about Natalie. She may be one of the dumbest people I have ever seen. Every word that some out of her mouth is unbelievably stupid. And she chases MAtt around the house when he has clearly told her he has no interest in her about 20 times.
And this goes on every night. It is bizarre. He avoids her like the plague and she keeps coming back for more.
I think I missed a step somewhere. When did it become okay to ridicule someone over their parent committing suicide but a practical joke (although incredibly bad taste) is a capitol offense?
Is it just me, or is that more than a little off kilter?
