Rebecca_beautyandthegeek_s4_240 With this first-ever Beauty and the Geek winners chosen by America, the finale also gave the booted pairs a chance to reunite and reminisce over the past season. Although I was impatient to learn whether or not Jasmine and Dave or Sam and Nicole won, I have to admit I got some good laughs while waiting.

Spoilers ... I mean, this IS the finale!

Overall, the returning partners looked much the same. For the most part, the geeks' makeovers were still intact, and a couple of the girls had new looks: Rebecca dyed her honey-blonde hair to a dark brown/black, while Holly's hair was a long, feathered Farrah 'do. Pretty much all of the ladies looked great, but I admit I was really happy to see Shay in her leopard-print dress greet little Joshua the most.

A retrospective of Dave and Jasmine followed, leading up to their reunion. Will Jasmine always look so cute? It's been four months since the last episode was taped till today's results finale, so she was appropriately jubilant to see Dave. Not so great was host Mike Richards giving her a chance to touch the tarantula, lovingly named Pinky, that she avoided during the Bronson Caves challenge.

Sam_nicole_beautyandthegeek Then it was Sam and Nicole's turn, and I must admit that Nicole looked good. She did something with her hair. Their reunion was less heartfelt and sweet. It was actually Sam's reunion with Rebecca, his main squeeze in the mansion, that seemed to be more emotional. Although there was some talk about his missing her the whole time, I have my doubts. Rebecca apologized to Nicole for the midnight makeout madness, and Nicole forgave her. What I want to know is: Has Sam ever apologized for his part in it?

What Else We Learned

The viewers' biggest Beauty crush - Sam
The viewers' choice for geekiest Geek - Joshua (second place: Josh)
Beauties going back to their studies: Holly - anthropology; Jen - realtor's license
Geek dating lives - Josh has a girlfriend; Luke is a player (averaging 2-3 dates a week!!)

I very much enjoyed a spotlight on Shay and Joshua, whom Mike called the Fan Favorites. It was hilarious when Mother Hen Shay and Joshua's real mom Marla met, making Joshua all meek: "I'm afraid to interrupt either of them." It was also very sweet because Joshua acknowledged that Shay's bossiness towards him came from a place of caring. Awww.

Rebecca sure got a lot of attention. First there was all the Sam business, then she was asked her opinion about Sam liking Amanda first. Finally, when Josh was showing off his self-makeover (Sheesh. Good job, I say.), she had to give him a full-body oil massage since she had promised she would if he removed his body hair.

Jasmine_dave_beautyandthege Finally, it was time to reveal the winners. Each couple was given an envelope: one containing a check for $250,000, and the other, only mocking emptiness. Once I heard the squeal, I knew all was right with the world. Jasmine and Dave had triumphed over their formidable foes and claimed the final victory in the battle of Beauty and the Geek.

Highlights/Thoughts:

- Will, with his resonant voice, was just as annoying apologizing for his annoyingness on the show.
- Jasmine, explaining why she was hurt with Dave's initial repugnance for her: "I thought that even if I didn't get along with none of the girls, at least I'd have my geek."
- Will congratulating Nicole on her sneaky strategy: "That was magnificent! You played Sam, Rebecca and me like a virtuoso. You have to respect the skills."
- Mike ad-libbing after Sam asks who wrote in about his muscles: "M. Richards"
- An emotional Jasmine to someone offscreen after winning: "You're crying. I'm not crying."

Do you agree with the results? Did you vote? Who were you happiest about seeing again?

thanks for posting this so quick! i've been dying to know, but it's too late to watch now (east coast!). i'm glad for J&D- they both grew a lot. i also felt sam did a great job, but nicole never took the stick out of her butt. like many of the beauties, i hope sam realizes he's got a brain and it doesn't have to hurt to use it!

can't wait to watch the show and see how everyone looks!

I'm pretty sure we saw Sam apologize to Nicole for the bunk-bed fiasco. It was a nice touch for Rebecca to apologize finally too.

Is it just me, or did Rebecca's new hairdo look a heck of a lot like Amanda's colour? My guess is that she didn't take Sam's comment about initially wanting to hook up with Amanda too lightly. I also didn't buy his missing her the whole time bit either, but what's a guy to do when he's put on the spot?

It was a great finale and I am so glad that it was Dave and Jasmine that won. It was a bit evil to force Jasmine to touch Pinky, but hopefully $250,000 is worth it to her.

They avoided any and all mention of Dave's crush on Nicole. With both of them living near Boston, I wonder what happened there?

Nicole pretty much said during the show that she wasn't interested in Dave, which is a shame. Poor Dave! She should be flattered that in a houseful of eye candy, he developed a crush on her, the "ugliest girl in the room". Shows that Dave isn't shallow, at least.

I never thought when I saw the premiere that I would like Dave and Jasmine so much, and that I wouldn't like Sam and Nicole all that much. It'll be interesting to see if this 'twist' continues, perhaps a season of all female geeks and all male beauties?

And yeah, Josh did a great job on his makeover, but he still needs to work on his nervous laugh. Prolly just stage fright.

I'm glad Sam didn't win because from the beginning he wasn't on equal footing with the other beauties--they all lacked confidence in their intellectual abilities, which was the point of having them there, and he clearly didn't. With him around, the girls got psyched out during challenges.

There is no way he was pining for Rebecca these last four months. No way at all.

Josh's mother. Oy. Explains so much.

@Siansonea

YES! I noted that Josh still has a geek laugh even though his self-makeover was darn good.

Any comments on his girlfriend? I admit I always like it when different ethnicities date, and she looks like a "normal" girl physique-wise, so I'm glad he didn't get used to the superficial, skinny beauty from his experience in the mansion.

why didnt they have jen and will on the couch and explain to us how much they hated each other.

Will, with his resonant voice, was just as annoying apologizing for his annoyingness on the show.

I definitely agree w/ that...

early in the show, i never really thought about dave and jasmine much...but i grew to really like them, and jasmine's one of my favorite beauties ever on the show...she just sees the good in everyone

when sam won hottest beauty, i thought maybe all the viewers and voters were women, so maybe sam and nicole might've won

i'm glad D and J won. the classic moment was the scene during the season when J thinks lobbying means to hang out in the lobby. LOL. she's dumb but has a good heart and is rather lovable. it seemed strange though that during the season she had this 'baby voice' but on the finale she did not. wonder what that's about.

dave seemed like a gross dud in the beginning, but i grew to really like him. props to him for burning brownies.

sam sucks. he was full of himself throughout the season and into the finale. i'm sure he's been dating around since the end of the taping, rather than pining for rebecca. she, on the other hand, is clearly still into him. i think she dyed her hair to be like amanda's coloring bc she knew sam liked that brunette-look better.

nicole needs anti-depressants. she hasn't changed much other than a bit of her appearance. she really should seek help- her smile frequently changes to a sullen frown. something is going on with her and sam was no help to her other than being a cocky dude winning challenges 'bc she didn't'.

props to shay and joshua- they were the most fun to watch. i wish they had won over DJ.

i also felt sorry for josh's gf. clearly she got shafted while he enjoyed a massage from his crush and real lust-object rebecca. poor gf just had to watch.

will is still a pouty baby. boo. jen rocks for putting up with his whiny ass for so long.

nicole needs anti-depressants? no, she needs better editing! how do we know jasmine was as ditsy, shay was as nagging, dave as clueless, sam as cocky as they were portrayed? editors follow a story line and they edit film to match it. i don't trust hollywood to present "reality" to me and neither should you. this show is fun, entertaining, often hilarious, and delightful, but real it is not!

cutting out intros/recaps/commercials one episode is perhaps 40 minutes and it only airs once a week, and it have to incl following up on 20 people in the house...

one week = 10080 minutes... 10080 * 20 (people) = 201600 min's...

so yeah... shrinking 201600 min's to 40 min's must be a real challenge... i therefore hope that they start airing more weekly episodes as well... or make a sub-show called "B&G EXTRA"

p.s. about liking or disliking different characters of this season... i think i'll put it like erin did...: "i love it here, i love this house, and i love every single person in this house" :-)

I wished sam and nichole won personally i hate jasmine and dave. I think Nichole didnt change much and i think jasmine is still retarted but dave has changed still find him weird though. However, i think america got it wrong because jasmine is as stupid as she was before( which was really dumb).
