Jenniegarth_derek_dancingwiththesta This is it...the penultimate Results show before we find out this season winner of Dancing with the Stars. The suspense and having to endure two performances by Avril Lavigne are killing me!

Spoilers!

After the requisite recap from last night's perfect score storm, we find out that Jennie Garth & Derek's Cha Cha get the encore nod. I figured as much since it was such a breakthrough number for her. Congrats to her - I'm glad she finally got that jittery monkey off her back.

Next up is Avril Lavigne's first number, a song called "Hot." Oh, Avril. You really don't seem like you're heart's into this. But she doesn't look nearly as bored as she did on SNL, so at least there's that.

During the painful backstage interview by Samantha Harris, Jennie sort of sounds like she thinks she's leaving. I understand the whole "prepare for the worst, hope for the best" mentality but at least speak as if you're promoting good vibes.

The audience opinion segment is next and then we find out that the First couple safe is...Marie & Jonathan. I wish I could say I was surprised.

I figure one of two things will happen at this point: either it's an all chick finale or Jennie's going home.

Kenny Maynes returns with a totally ridiculous segment about "Dance Rehab" featuring Lisa Rinna, Harry Hamlin, Laila Ali and Tucker Carlson. Best line: "Dance will always be inside me. You could cut me into little pieces and each piece would have dance in it." - Tucker Carlson.

And now...Michael Flatly, Lord of the Dance. Surprisingly he's not only clothed, he's wearing a uniform that is far more airline pilot than military (as are all his dancers). The number is full of all we've come to expect from the Dance Lord - stops and pointing and solos and preening, all done flawlessly in unison. Good times.

Next is a completely useless segment with various entertainment reporters talking about how great and dramatic this season's been. They even found a way to replay the Marie fainting footage. Boo!!

Avril Lavigne returns to sing "Complicated," something made more tolerable by the fact Sabrina Bryan & Mark return to perform as a way to drive up ticket sales for the tour...oops, I mean give a sneak peek for the tour. Sabrina & Mark threw in all kinds of awesome tricks and lifts - she really is a great dancer. It makes me somewhat sad that I won't get to see their freestyle. Oh well. The PR from getting prematurely bounced from the show will probably do more for her than if she won the whole bloody thing. P.S. Was it just me or did Avril have shaky kitten voice tonight?

After a segment of all the celebs and their pros talking about how they deserved/would love to be in the finals, we find out the next couple safe is...Mel B. & Maksim. Excellent. To me, she's the best all around dancer left and deserves to stay.

Okay, now we're down to the nitty gritty. It's down to Jennie and Helio and...Jennie's time is officially up. At least she ended on a high note. And behold, the Summary Package of Tears. They didn't get Cameron last week, but they succeeded in getting Jennie to cry. And they play her out to Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory." Really? F'ing really?

Next Week: The finals! The celebs dance one number chosen by the judges and their freestyle.

Loved Flatly's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" dance.

I actually liked the segment with Kenny Mayne, Lisa Renna, Harry Hamlin, Leila

Ali and Tucker Carlson. I think that Avril did a good job. I'm glad that Jennie and Derek got the encore dance. Goodbye Jennie and Derek. Good luck to Marie/Jonathan, Mel/Maks, and Helio/Julianne.

I thought Avril sounded better than ever and enjoyed herself. I think you need to go get a hearing test.

My predictions for the Finale...

1st: Mel & Maks

2nd: Helio and Julianne

3rd: Marie & Jonathan

Reality...

1st: Mel & Maks

2nd: Marie & Jonathan

3rd: Helio & Julianne

Mel deserves the title. Helio and Marie are great entertainers. But Marie should've been gone 3 weeks ago. It should be Sabrina, Mel and Helio in the final 3.

I am devastated by Jennie leaving last night. Yeah, it was a little annoying at first with all her stsage fright issues that she had, however, she got over it in time. It made me so happy when Len said, that neither Helio or Jennie should be going home. You know he meant that you should go home Marie!!! I will say though that Marie tends to entertain more with her dance than Jennie, where Jennie tends to wow us with the technical aspect of dance. In reality, last night should have gone:

1. Mel B

2. Jennie

3. Helio

If the right people in the competition went home (ahem...Marie), then it should go:

1. Sabina

2. Mel B

3. Jennie

Sorry, Marie! I love ya and I know you've been through a lot, but you should have gone home already!

Everyone has their opinions. And if the people who should have gone home went home because of talent and/or lack of it the finals would have been:

1. Sabrina

2. Mel B.

3. Helio

Well two out of three isn't bad. And Jennie Garth had it all over Marie. Don't get me wrong--Monday was Marie's best two dances ever. However Jennie's Cha Cha should have secured her a spot in the finals. Not as big of a fan base and family though as Marie's. What a shame!!!

Although I know that Jennie had technique over Marie, Jennie rarely ever 'sold' her dances to me. I haven't voted for her in weeks. Marie may be shakier on technique, but her dances were more fun and exciting to watch than Jennie's. I kept thinking about Ian last season when I watched Jennie dance: great on technique, so-so on 'selling' it. Maybe it's a 90210 thing...

Boy, Sabrina and Mark sure danced their hearts out! I thought "Good for her. Show people that you should be here, NOW"! Not surprised about Jennie going but she did GREAT.

Tamara, I wasn't surprised either when they announced that Marie/Jonathan were safe. Marie has had enough viewer support to save her the last few weeks, depsite always having the lowest judges' scores. That being said, I'm glad that Jonathan has finally made it to the top 3. :-)

My original prediction after week 1 was that the finalists were going to be Mel, Helio and Sabrina. Oh, well... everyone was shocked that Sabrina was eliminated so early. I enjoyed watching Sabrina/Mark dance again, but I also wanted to see the other stars who will be going on the tour.

I did feel bad when Jennie was crying after the elimination, but you could tell by her body language that she thought it was her time to go. She has definitely improved, but maybe there is a 90210 'curse' -- Ian Ziering was eliminated in the semifinals also. Interesting that the band played Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" because now I always ***ociate that song with Phil Stacey being eliminated from American Idol.

As for the show's filler segments... The Lord of the Dance definitely lived up to his hype, but I don't understand the uniforms (airline pilots?). At least he didn't wear a vest without the shirt. ;-)

I loved the Kenny Mayne segment, spoofing all the celebrities in rehab. Tucker Carlson is much better at acting than at dancing. Lisa Rinna actually made fun of all the self tanner that they use!
