Week 6 Results on 'Dancing with the Stars'
Tonight has to be one of the most shocking eliminations I've ever seen on Dancing with the Stars. It actually might be top on the list. Seriously, I'm not just saying that. Read on and prepare to have your mind blown.
Beware the spoilers!
Jane Seymour couldn't make it to the show because she's come down with a bad case of something resembling food poisoning. Ew. That can't be fun.
The encore, of course, was the group dance. With everyone except Jane. Tony used Julianne during what was supposed to be the solo lift portion and danced by himself the rest of time. Upon seeing it again, I also really liked Jennie and Derek's lift sequence.
Next up is a Barry Manilow performance (a song I assume is called "They Dance") with Cheryl Burke and Louis Van Amstel dancing. I'm quite glad Louis wasn't one of the pros this season. He always kind of rubbed me the wrong way...there's something slightly smarmy about him. But, smarminess aside, he and Cheryl did a great job.
During the first round of letting people off the hook, Mel B. and...Jane Seymour are safe? Shocking! Even to Tony, who's left to celebrate by himself (at least until Maksim joined in). Okay. So I still think Marie is in the bottom but now I'm not so sure who else will be there. I'm pretty sure it won't be Cameron...perhaps Helio? Or Jenny? I doubt it'll be Sabrina what with all the pre-teen girls calling in for her.
The next sequence is a preview of the show Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann. What's cool about it is that they're looking for singers AND dancers. No singing for this performance, but they danced to "Weapon of Choice" by Fatboy Slim (which the vocalists did a great job with, surprisingly - whoever the new dudes are, they oughta keep them). I was very impressed by the number and man, they suckered me in. I'm totally watching it. Huzzah for another dancing show!
Barry Manilow pops up again to perform "Mandy" with Jonathan and Anna dancing to it. I wasn't going to mention it, but really...um...Barry should have had one less face lift. He's got cat eyes, and that ain't right.
Next up to waste our time is a segment with the celebs asking the judges questions (what they asked is fairly irrelevant) followed by a fairly lengthy bit about how everyone has bonded.
Now we get to find out who's in the dreaded Red Light of Doom. Finally. Helio and Julianne - safe. Cameron and Edyta - not safe. Color me surprised. Jennie and Derek - safe. Marie and Jonathan - safe?!? What?!? It's Sabrina and Mark. She looks like she's going to cry, poor thing. Bruno thinks it's madness that they're in the bottom - I blame "the Simon Cowell Effect," meaning those who get the meanest comments live to fight another day.
And, unfortunately, Sabrina goes home. The crowd boos, Carrie Ann is crying, everyone on stage is stunned, and I call B.S.
Barry Manilow sings "My Eyes Adore You" to play them out. Thank goodness it wasn't something more depressing.
Okay. So. Yeah. This is me, speechless. And a bit disgusted.
Discuss amongst yourselves.
More like DISGUST amongst yourselves. These results are damned hysterical, BANANAS even! This girl was supposed to make the finale, what happened America? Seriously, Marie safe? Jane safe? This just goes to show that you HAVE to vote, everytime. Poor girl, I could see her mouthing to her partner, "I'm sorry, I'm so soory." Not your fault, Sabrina.
SansMerci1013 | Oct 30, 2007 7:30:22 PM | #I was shocked, but in a way, not surprised too much because on the boards at Dancing with the Stars, there seemed to be less and less Sabrina fans. And those that were Sabrina fans were depending upon the supposed "masses of teen girls" to vote for her and Mark. I was surprised to see Cameron in the bottom two. I hope this wakes up America. VOTE, PEOPLE! :)
Terry | Oct 30, 2007 7:44:55 PM | #I'm really at a lose for words about the show tonight. Sabrina out and that awful Marie still there???? I just don't know what to say. I don't even want to watch anymore. I voted but as usual I never vote for Marie and I did vote for Sabrina. Several times but the results are what they are and at this moment I'm done with the show. I like Cameron and Helio but for a 90 minute show I mean 92 minutes they will have a lot of filling to do and as stated I'm not very interested enough to watch. Way to go America.....
michael | Oct 30, 2007 7:47:55 PM | #I was shocked but I'm glad that Sabrina Bryan is gone because I was sick to death of seeing her and Mark practically fornicating on the screen. Seriously, he's supposed to be a professional dancer. Does he constantly kiss ALL his partners like he does Sabrina? His arms are always around her, he was rubbing her back while they were in the red light of doom, she called him "baby" and he's constantly kissing her. It's just so unprofessional. No real surprise that she's gone though. Not just because they're both tramps but also because she doesn't have much of a fanbase. Certainly not compared to the others.
Francine Fishpaw | Oct 30, 2007 7:51:16 PM | #Even better - instead of voting like lunatics (because putting people on their honor to vote only for the best dancers CLEARLY doesn't work) I believe America's vote should only count for a third or a quarter of the total score. I actually found myself crying both out of sadness and shock when Sabrina and Mark were sent home instead of staying right through to the end where they should have, but also I was really pissed off. That was just TOTALLY wrong. I hate to point to anyone else that should have gone home because for the most part the remaining couples have done and are doing an amazing job, and I can appreciate them all for their different strengths, BUT of all the couples remaining those 2 were certainly among the least deserving the boot. They scored in the top consistently, throughout the season, and the fact that her fan base wasn't rabid enough shouldn't mean that they go home. This happens way too often on this show, including earlier in this season, when Wayne Newton stayed more than one round; sorry, 'legend' (and I use the term very loosely) he may be to some, but he is NO dancer. I'm getting really sick of this show being more popularity contest than dance contest, and I don't think I'm going to be watching again, unless they change the way the voting is tabulated. Clearly America doesn't know an excellent dancer from a good one, and we need to take some of that power away from those who are just using all their votes for their favorites to keep them in longer, instead of really looking and voting for those who deserve the votes. Shame on you ABC, and on those 'stuffed the ballot box'; Sabrina and Mark deserved to stay.
Karen | Oct 30, 2007 8:05:11 PM | #Are you kidding me?? This might be more shocking than Chris Daughtry or Jennifer Hudson getting ousted on AI. Sabrina has been by far the best dancer all season. She's one of the only people I actually looked forward to watch dance each week. And Marie's not even in the bottom 2?? This is truly ridiculous.
Robba | Oct 30, 2007 8:06:13 PM | #I REALLY don't know what to think. I want to put this question out there: Does anybody think there might be something similar to season one's dance off coming after Tuesday's results show?
Everyone onstage, the judges and Tom and Samantha seemed too shocked. I actually think that she was hurt by the overabundance of praise that she recieved from all three judges. Personally, that's why I never voted for her. I read the ABC boards and saw that she had dance training so maybe that could have contributed to the vote count tonight too.
Penny | Oct 30, 2007 8:11:46 PM | #This is the same scenario that will prevent Hillary from becoming president. Oh, and this is the second week without Kimmel. All is right in the world
Cal | Oct 30, 2007 8:12:39 PM | #This is the same scenario that will prevent Hillary from becoming president. Oh, and this is the second week without Kimmel. All is right in the world
Cal | Oct 30, 2007 8:13:27 PM | #To Tamara: Grest review, I failed to mentioned that earlier, my bad :) To Francine Fishpaw - U R BANANAS, and a repressed conservative prudy-tudy. Fornicating on screen? BANANAS! I saw compassion, love, mutual admiration and respect. In guess you missed it, he was enamored of her - her spirit, her talent, her drive. There is a REAL connection beyond the dancing, in fact, it informed the dancing and made it more compelling. Your comment is a pathetic attempt to justify an agregeous travesty. Fornicating? Get a frakkin' clue. Oh, and maybe take a dance class and learn to channel that 'tude into something fruitful, before your repression drives you to the top of a tower with an AK-47. Fornicating, indeed.
SansMerci1013 | Oct 30, 2007 8:16:30 PM | #I really can't say too much because I haven't voted (I tape the show and watch it later). But I was incredibly surprised. Tony is really annoying me this season and Jane's dance last night was just completely uncomfortable to watch. I really thought Jane and Marie should have been in the bottom too. I would have been okay with pretty much anyone in the bottom 2 except Sabrina and Helio.
Katya | Oct 30, 2007 8:42:15 PM | #Thank you Karen. You saved me a lot of time because everything I wanted to say, you already said. Sabrina was the only star I enjoyed watching and so I'm done with this season. Either change the scoring or increase the dancing caliber of the stars so it doesn't hurt as much.
Season 4 remains my favorite with the best final 4 and voters that were consistently on the money.
Kevin | Oct 30, 2007 10:09:45 PM | #Count me in...I am STILL in shock!! I enjoyed every minute of Sabrina and Mark since dance # 1 and VOTED many times for them each week. How can Jane Seymour be better than Sabrina??? I am SO disappointed...
Kate 2 | Oct 30, 2007 10:43:26 PM | #I wanted her gone from the first time she said "cheetah-licious". I for one am glad I won't have to watch this bastard child of Mariah Carey and Miss Piggy any more.
BTC | Oct 31, 2007 3:41:53 AM | #BTC, you're probably 45 and still a virgin.
Deanne | Oct 31, 2007 4:45:39 AM | #This show has lost what little credibility it once had. Sabrina was far-and-away the best dancer and easily mastered every style she performed so far. I mean, it's not even close.
They're going to have to revamp the judging process in order to keep something like this from happening again. It's just ridiculous.
It was clear on Monday night that the judges were artificially knocking down Sabrina's scores in order to make things more "interesting" and competitive. They've got to stop doing that as well, because the drooling masses simply cannot be counted upon to vote for the best dancer. That Marie is still there and Sabrina gone is a joke. I'd like to think this will result in a ratings dive, but I'm not that naive.
righteousdude | Oct 31, 2007 5:30:57 AM | #I screamed out "WHAT" when I heard the results last night. As with many of you, I was in total shock and still am really. What I don't like about the voting is that they have kept each couple's phone number the name all season and you can vote during the show before seeing all the dances. The should change the numbers each week and make people watch the whole show before voting like on AI and SYTYCD. This might make it at least a little bit more fair. I feel so bad for Sabrina and Mark. She was totally going to cry last night and she feel's like she let Mark down but she really didn't, she was the best. Now I'm routing for anyone but Marie and Jane.
steph | Oct 31, 2007 5:44:13 AM | #She is a professional dancer and a choreographer and had no business being there. It was unfair to the other dancers.
pj | Oct 31, 2007 6:01:02 AM | #Sans,
I'm no prude. I have nothing against Edita's barely there outfits. Obviously it's to distract from any bad moves that her partner makes. That's all well and good. If you've got it, flaunt it.
But Mark should have been a professional and kept his lips and hands to himself when they weren't dancing. It's the same reason why Mario and Karina were voted off even though they deserved to win. People want to see professionalism. Not a couple of kids making out.
Anyway, I think Sabrina getting the boot is a good thing also because now everyone on the show will be on their toes and work that extra bit harder to stay in the competition.
And to those who say Sabrina was robbed, did you vote for her? As Jimmy Kimmell said when he interviewed her on his show, most people probably just assumed she'd get the votes so they didn't bother to vote.
Kind of like how Bush managed to be president two terms running.
If you want someone to stay, then damn well vote!
Francine Fishpaw | Oct 31, 2007 6:01:16 AM | #The reason why she was so good is because she is a choreographer. Is that fair to the non professionals NO?
pj | Oct 31, 2007 6:02:04 AM | #I too was shocked that Sabrina was voted out. I was certain that she would win, not just be in the finals but win! I'm not too upset about Jane and Marie still being there, since I vote for them (as well as Sabrina), but I did not vote for Jennie this week. I don't see her making it to the end...
Anne | Oct 31, 2007 6:03:02 AM | #I'm utterly disgusted...Unlike the maroons (read: blind voters) responsible for the ouster of Sabrina and her partner last night, I actually voted based on talent! Hell, even all 3 judges were shocked and stunned that Sabrina got booted and that Marie and Jane were safe...Needless to say, ABC has lost THIS viewer and I'll be watching CHUCK from hereonin...Meanwhile I'm off for a cup of coffee to wash the sour taste out of my mouth over this travesty!
MortalReckoning | Oct 31, 2007 6:04:04 AM | #Deanne, is that that what you picked up at the local schoolyard? How old are you? Seven?
Bai Ling's Beef Curtains | Oct 31, 2007 6:04:09 AM | #Did it occur to you that Sabrina just doesn't have that big of a following? What is she famous for? A couple of TV movies? Sheesh.
Shane | Oct 31, 2007 6:07:16 AM | #Welcome to the world that we fans of the REAL reality tv series, American Idol, know exists: The Confusing Results. We always think it was rigged or an error was made, and that we won't watch anymore. We always do, and life goes on. My question is: Why wasn't the review written in all caps today? :)
Mr Right | Oct 31, 2007 6:30:13 AM | #Welcome to the world that we fans of the REAL reality tv series, American Idol, know exists: The Confusing Results. Mr Right | Oct 31, 2007 6:30:22 AM | #I think that this shows that in the past Sabrina's high scores from the judges were what carried her through to the next show. Once the judges gave her lower scores the fan votes weren't enough. I'm sorry to see her go. I think some of the heart has gone out of the competition. It may change how the rest of the dancers compete - obviously dancing the best won't keep you in, you have to please the fans instead.
Debbie | Oct 31, 2007 6:40:02 AM | #ah voters!
she doesn't have the fan base and that is what happened.
Voters don't really vote for the dancing they vote for what they know
soap stars they see on a daily basis, singers like Marie who have been around forever and Jane from her Dr Quinn days.
No matter what you think about looks wise, Sabrina should have stayed.
you can see that her dancing and energy is better then Marie and Jane and Cameron.
very upsetting and bs
I guess it will go down to Spice gal and Helios
but who knows
with this crappy voting it could come down to Marie and Jane
lovely ladies but yikes

lauren | Oct 31, 2007 6:52:50 AM | #Francine -
It's funny you brought them up, Mario and Karina. They made it to the FINALE, didn't they? With all their on and off screen shenanigans.. Talent is talent, point blank, the wrong couple went home.
SansMerci1013 | Oct 31, 2007 6:59:38 AM | #The show needs to change its name to "Dancing Without Sabrina". What a crock! Sabrina was destined to be in the final two. She was consistently good at all the dances. Jane and Marie need to go home quickly (although I think Marie is very funny). She's just not fun to watch. And Jane, although pretty and classy, dances in slow motion. A real snoozer. C'mon people. Get with the program. Don't let this great show turn into another American "Idle" where popularity trumps talent and commitment.
jvice | Oct 31, 2007 7:01:54 AM | #It just goes to show you that if your mother dies or you faint on stage, you stand a better chance of moving forward in the competition than if you are actually a good dancer. I hope the judges see what is happening and adjust their scores accordingly next week so another good dancer doesn't get the boot.
JohnD | Oct 31, 2007 7:07:14 AM | #I'm DONE with this show! Sabrina was my favorite dancer this season. And she could DANCE! Hello! Isn't this show about DANCING!?! Seriously!
I don't think I'm watching it anymore...why should I? Well okay, I'm done for this season. We'll see about next season.
Well Bai Ling, I don't know what kind of things you were doing when you were seven, but I wasn't exposed to anything children aren't supposed to hear at that age. Poor you. By the way, a statement like that seems to be the only thing people like you respond to...that's why it was meant for "BTC" and his/her pathetic comment abut Sabrina looking like Miss Piggy. It makes my skin crawl that "BTC" might actually have children and that he/she is responsible for shaping their young minds. Disgusting. Obviously he/she is the kind of person that responds only to insults and thrives on it. Sound familiar? Get a life Bai Ling.
Deanne | Oct 31, 2007 7:33:35 AM | #i read that sabrina had professional dance training at chapman university so i'm glad she's gone---it wasn't fair she was there in the first place.
tim | Oct 31, 2007 7:44:10 AM | #I've been reading how the fans didn't get it right. I disagree. I think the fans have a mind of their own. The show constantly urges folks to vote who THEY want to see in the finals and to vote for THEIR favorites. Well, obviously Sabrina and Mark were NOT who the fans wanted to see in the finals and the fans have the last word. If you want a strict dancing "competition", then don't involve the fans. Just have the judges and dancing experts vote who is best. Otherwise, respect the fans opinion if you're going to give them the power to affect the outcome.
Sylvia | Oct 31, 2007 7:52:45 AM | #What really affected me was not just that Sabrina was out - which is totally wrong - but how obviously it upset her. She wasn't just going through the motions up there. The child worked hard, tried hard, and put everything into doing the best she could. And she did it marvelously.
For those of you who want to complain about "dance training," please remember that what she does as a Cheetah Girl is basically hip hop, which is about as far from ballroom as scuba diving is from hang-gliding. None of these people has any real experience doing things like the samba or foxtrot, even if they've spent their lives in front of the camera or on stage. It would be the same as claiming, let's say, Eric Clapton had an unfair advantage in a competition for classical pianists - I mean, he's a musician, right?
I am glad Tom Bergeron actually said he was shocked too, and wasn't just neutral the way he is with most of the dismissed couples. I felt so sorry for Sabrina, and the "competition" won't be the same.
snail | Oct 31, 2007 8:18:21 AM | #Yeah, i agree with y'all. Sabrina should have been in the finals and won the whole damn thing!! This is a travesty, people!! America got it wrong!! I voted for Sabrina every week online. I am voting for Mel B...all the way. The Spice Girl should win this. America, am I dreaming or this is a deja vu of American Idol last season when Sanjaya stayed in the competition and other good singers got voted off? This is madness!!! I am going to vote for Mel B now every week..Mel B should win!!! Jane and Marie has to go home before the finals because fainting and death of a loved one won't score you any sympathy votes from the public. this is a DANCING competition!! Next week, the bottom 2 had better be Marie and Jane...I am issuing this message...don't vote for Jane and Marie!!!
mikey a | Oct 31, 2007 8:42:23 AM | #SABRINA DOESN'T HAVE THE FANS!
Why can't you people get that through your thick heads?
The only thing that kept her in the show was the high scores that the judges gave her and that there were worse dancers around before. Now everyone is top notch and so it's time to weed out the chaff. So Sabrina and her horny partner have been dismissed.
The others in the show have strong fan bases thanks to a decade (at the very least) of a career. Marie's been around for 40 years. Same with Jane. Cameron is on TV five days a week. They've got fans.
Sabrina has done two television movies and that's it (and not even on network TV).
Same reason that Josie Maran got ousted in the first week. Who the hell knew who she was? Albert Reed also.
Yes it is a dancing competition. But it's also a popularity contest. If the audience's vote was less than 50%, nowhere near as many people would watch the show. They like to have the control. Just as they do with American Idol.
Gomer | Oct 31, 2007 8:59:08 AM | #The answer to the show is not to vote for who you think did a good dance but to vote for the person who did a bad dance. That would eliminate people voting for their favorate "Star".
Barry | Oct 31, 2007 9:02:55 AM | #Personally, I'm glad Sabrina went away. I was sick of her pseudo-humility. Also, it was disgusting to watch her drape herself all over Mark. Throughout most of the show I wanted to tell her to get a room (or maybe a mirror would be better). I honestly think she thought she was going to win the whole thing. This show belongs to the people like Helio, Cameron & Jenny who have limited dancing ability. Also, you really can't criticize the fans for voting for their favorites (even if Sabrina wasn't one of them). Afterall, that's the point of the show.
Mara | Oct 31, 2007 9:26:04 AM | #SHOCKING! But I think Sabrina will be okay. I'd be surprised to see her name in the tabloids next to Lindsey Blow han with the headline "Drugs, Booze and Sex: The whole kitten caboodle for Cheetah Girl after her exile from Dancing wth the Stars"
Marie isn't as good, but this is entertainment. Wayne Newton fans moved camp to Marie, she fainted. America has compassion.
This has been a fun year to watch. All my eggs for Helio!
BIG UNANSWERED QUESTION - when will Tom and Samantha admit that it's Tom's baby?
Peace & Love ya'll
Warren J | Oct 31, 2007 9:37:03 AM | #I totally agree with Mara :)
Sabrina is a professionally trained dancer with the Cheetah Girls. She had an unfair advantage. I think the winner of this contest should be someone without experience, who works hard and improves every week. Cameron, Helio and Jenny are all doing this. If Carrie Ann really wanted her there to the end, she and the other judges should have scored them higher. They helped to eliminate her. I am glad she is gone ... there are no tears on my cheeks!

It is really not surprising at all. Both Sabrina and Cameron were saying how they had very little time to rehearse and in a sense appeared full of themselves (not that they are, but how they came across). Most voters were probably turned off by that and didn't vote for them. I believe that happens on American Idol too
Manny | Oct 31, 2007 9:45:40 AM | #The results shocked me, but I am not unhappy. What I do not appreciate are the nasty comments by some people. It is not necessary to put other people down just because you don't like the results. Sabrina was gracious last night, why can't we do the same. I don't believe that Marie and Jane are receiving sympathy votes,I think there are fans out there who enjoy watching them dance.
Trupen | Oct 31, 2007 10:58:36 AM | #I am totally done with this show! It has pulled an American Idol and dropped the most talented person in favor of ratings. Although I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist, I would like to say that I tried calling for Mark and Sabrina for several minutes and every time, the line was busy. So don't be so quick to blame the audience for not calling in the votes when many of us couldn't even get on the line!
Rachel | Oct 31, 2007 10:59:00 AM | #I could not resist but to comment.
I am not surprised and actually happy that she was voted off.
1. Before the show started it was said she was taking lessons.
2. She had to get some training for the Cheetah girls 2 movie (Dorinda Tango on Youtube).
3.yes hiphop is different than ballroom;if she actually had training for any type of dance she learned some of all dances especially if she went to a good dance school.
4. She is a Disney brat and think truthfully that kids that a being groomed for the biz study everthing.
5.The Tweens who are her fans are not watching the show, point blank.
6. She may have been good but she was too confident.
7. The judges screwed her from the start by scoring her so highly. They made it look as if the fix was in for the Female (it's time for one to win) and Disney girl(that didn't help).
8. The judges screwed up by scoring the oldest dancers as the lowests.
Question? why is cameron looked at for his improvment and willingness to try when marie is looked at as eh even though you allowed your partner to throw you down twice.
9. It did help that she scored a 30 so early because she had no where else to go but down in scoring(which she did).
10. They padded her dance card with mostly latin dances and when it came to doing some of the ballroom she was too heavy(and this was the first time something was said; she had clodded through dances before.
11. The Producers just wanted to create some AI styled drama (to build hype for the dance wars show).
You are all losers. you all crack me up. Marie and Jane are cougarish milfs.
Bostonisit | Oct 31, 2007 11:31:29 AM | #You are all losers. you all crack me up. Marie and Jane are cougarish milfs.
Bostonisit | Oct 31, 2007 11:31:36 AM | #Sabrina got voted off because of two reasons:
1. people voted for the others because everyone knew she wouldn't get voted off. Whether you liked her or not, she WAS the best dancer. But, Marie, Jane and Cameron obviously have fans who DO vote, so they stayed.
2. the professional dancer backlash. Many people were saying that she was so much better because she was basically a pro.
Even though I wasn't rooting for her to win, she certainly deserved to go to the finals. She was the best out there.
Women vote, women don't vote for women when it comes down to it, whether it's for the hot guy, jealousy or whatever- a woman will not win!
kay | Oct 31, 2007 11:48:49 AM | #Oh wow. Reading all this has to be better then watching the show. You guys really go after it, huh! Sorry I don't watch. We were just looking for footage of the poor star who farted on national tv! But this is even better!!
Peg | Oct 31, 2007 11:53:36 AM | #Did ever occur to those that are in shock, that Sabrina was booted off the show because, well...WE DON'T WANT HER TO WIN! It's popularity, not votes for those who already have professional training. I'd rather see engaging people with personalities, rather than smily teens that lust after each other on the dancefloor.
Enzo | Oct 31, 2007 12:42:59 PM | #I was so mad when Sabrina was eliminated! She was awesome! I cried when she was apologizing to her dance partner.
I am glad that Jimmy Kimmel did not show her elimination announcement it would have been too painful to watch it again.
I have to find the people voting for Marie Osmond and ask them: "Why?".
Ally | Oct 31, 2007 12:47:50 PM | #To all of you going after Sabrina for have dance training, why not show the same level of spite for Jennie and Jane? They've both had some instruction in their lives (Jane did ballet before she got injured and you can tell Jennie had some training just by the way she moves). And what about Stacy Kiebler a few seasons ago? She took dance lessons as a kid yet I didn't hear anyone griping about it.
At this point, it's going to suck for anyone who is eliminated but Sabrina looked so crushed. I can't stand that whole Cheetah Girls thing, but that's her job and you can't be mad at her for that.
And what's so wrong about Mark trying to console her? I really don't see what the rest of you so ineloquently complain about.
It's unfortunate that she's out because I really liked watching her dance. It's a shame people who did want her in got complacent. This is only the second time this season someone went home in the wrong order (Albert before Wayne).
| Oct 31, 2007 1:08:11 PM | #This result was shocking (in that it was not deserved) but not surprising. The problem is with the voting process really. You can vote by phone 10 times(?), text messaging 10 times, and online 10 times. Who has time for that? I have tried twice to vote, (both times for Mario) but couldn't get through either time and gave up after 30 minutes and won't bother to try to vote again.
Didn't they have a problem with circuits busy last year on Idol? They need to change the voting process somehow so that it doesn't reflect the preferences of the most fanatic voters. Don't ask me how...but each person shouldn't have 30 votes, should they?
Wow!!! What passion!!! That's why I love this show. Unfortunately it has become more of a popularity show than a best dancer show. However, I didn't see any major reactions last week when Jane Seymour who had come in 3rd points wise was voted into the bottom 2. Not one peep here!!!! But this week because Sabrina got voted off(a shocker indeed and never expected that one)who wasn't even in danger, it's like a major catastrophe and goes to show that it's all about popularity and not the dancing as she should still be there and should have gone to the finals. However, America voted and got it wrong in my opinion however I am really not that upset--even though I felt bad watching those final moments with her and Cameron because she was a nervous wreck. Good drama!!! Actually it sends a message out to the dancers that no one is safe and I think we shall see some really good dancing in the final weeks to come. Hopefully Jane Seymour will get over this bout of food poisoning and be able to come back strong.
Geoffrey | Oct 31, 2007 1:28:12 PM | #Who the heck cares of they (Sabrina & Marc) were all touchy-feely or whatever ... the bottom line is that she really was the best on there (Mel B being a close second) and their pda's shouldn't matter when it comes down to deciding who should win this thing and who shouldn't. Bottom line is Sabrina probably should have won this and at the very least been in the finale since she was the best dancer. Now I'm guessing it'll be Mel B., but who knows for sure??
Shannon | Oct 31, 2007 1:34:41 PM | #Okay - America was to blame - but so are the judges. They consistently score the better dancers more harshly. Sabrina, Joey, (insert good dancer here) - the judges use phrases like "expected more from you" and then drop the scores and put them in more danger. The judges shouldn't say they are shocked after scoring Sabrina low in the pack last week. It isn't fair.
Kathy | Oct 31, 2007 1:35:12 PM | #BTW, I don't really fault the american public for not calling in to vote. When you leave anything like this up to the american public that in my opinion your just asking for skewed results. I don't know why DWTS (and American Idol also) don't let the judges and the judges alone decide who stays and who goes.
Shannon | Oct 31, 2007 1:37:39 PM | #Rachel, gee I guess the show will have to make do without you and just be content with the other 20 million viewers. Not much of a blow to ABC, darling!
Eddie | Oct 31, 2007 2:03:59 PM | #wmeader
FYI each week you get one less vote for each method of voting. If you have problems voting by phone go on line there is no time limit there.
To address the professional dancer issue. Sabrina has been training as a dancer for most of her life. She may hip hop dance but that only makes it easier for her to pick up the steps. If you watch SYTYCD you will see that many hip hop dancers can ballroom just as well (ie. Sara). Some mentioned that Jane and Jennie may have had lessons while they were kids (Jane til an injury at age 11) but this does not make a professional dancer as playing soccer at 10 does not qualify you to play like Beckham (when he plays)
Sabrina has had an unfair advantage and personally I am very glad she is gone.(And yes I did know who she was I have seen the Cheeta movies with my kids).
I am also in agreement that it is now time for Jane and Marie to go.
Shannon, it was unprofessional of Marc to constantly drape himself over Sabrina and constantly kiss her. They can be as sexy as they want to be during the dance (God knows some act like they're in heat) but once the dance is over, they should act professional and keep their paws and lips off each other. Do you see Edyta giving Cameron back rubs? No. Because she knows to be a pro and she's not some horny slut. If you had a daughter, would you want her being taught by Marc knowing that this is how he acts with his partners? Sabrina is just a dumb celebrity but Marc should have known better. But instead he was acting like he a horny teenager who'd just lost his virginity. Mario and Karina got ousted too eventually because people got sick of their public displays of affection (like the behind the scenes footage of Mario literally kissing Karina's bikini clad ass near a swimming pool). If Sabrina wants to be seen as a woman, she'd better act like one. And Marc better start acting like a man instead of a horny teenager. Any dancer who couldn't control themselves with the celebrity would never be on the show again if I was in charge.
Francine Fishpaw | Oct 31, 2007 2:13:30 PM | #Any ballet training that Jane Seymour had is neglible considering it's been over 40 years since she stopped. Unlike Sabrina who's STILL dance training.
For The Brain Dead | Oct 31, 2007 2:31:40 PM | #i agree with barry. the problem with all of the reality competitions is the fact that you vote to keep people in, instead of voting people off the shows. voting to save contestants is what makes it a popularity contest
megan | Oct 31, 2007 2:35:52 PM | #Deanne, Please don't question my parenting skills. Just because you turned out to be a worthless mess doesn't mean I didn't do a good job of raising your brothers and sisters. Thanks for the father's day card. Love, Dad
BTC | Oct 31, 2007 3:29:58 PM | #All of her and Mark's dances were starting to look alike and she was too powerful in her movements. Choreography plays such a big part in these dances and maybe Mark's not up to par in that area. I'm not happy she's gone but she certainly wasn't a favorite, at all. I think the others are putting more into their dancing and practicing. Maybe she rested on her laurels one too many weeks.
MeBoovie | Oct 31, 2007 3:48:38 PM | #If cameron could manage to take his shirt off the next week he will be assured of staying!! I live to watch him!!
pattie | Oct 31, 2007 3:52:48 PM | #WooHoo!!! So glad that girl is gone. Did anyone above the age of 12 know who she was before this began? She is more famous because of this show than she would have ever been. While I believe she was always competent, she was never as inspriring as Marie or Jane. She was as good as Albert was but lasted longer only due to the normally high judges score. I don't think she ever had a huge fan base. Jenny should win.
Maverick | Oct 31, 2007 4:26:46 PM | #To sum up many points in one post..Sabrina was indeed robbed..Maybe she would not eventually win, but overall in 6 weeks she has been the best. Nothing wrong at all with her and Mark...How Jane is still in is a disgrace. I am rooting for Jennie.

Sabrina and Mark should have stayed because they were the busyest with CD and tour for Sabrina and Jane couldn't do that dance at all! On ET they said Marie used to have an eating disorder and still might have one. Jane might be feeling better, but they are both in last from the judges. It is WRONG WRONG WRONG! The judge's scores should count for 75% of the total score. I think that us having 50% is hard to get that many votes for that much. How is it humanly possible to do that? Sabrina and Mark are good, what is wrong with people that didn't vote for them? If Jane has another problem with food poisoning and she goes out what will they do?
Logan | Oct 31, 2007 5:32:25 PM | #Mary,
How can you call Sabrina wholesome family entertainment when her lover/partner (a.k.a. "Baby") was practically dry humping her while they waited to get their scores?
There's nothing wholesome about that fat little pig.
Vagina Davis | Oct 31, 2007 6:34:25 PM | #This just goes to show you who is watching this show. The older poeple turned against
Sabrina, Marie and Jane are well liked. The show this year is leaning towards a woman to win where the men have won the last 2 years and I picked Sabrina to win too. But the people picked Marie. and why because she is having fun out there and that is what the people want to see.
WHAT! WHAT! WHATEVER! Sabrina gone--I'm on the floor--a wonderful dancer. I will miss those precise, controlled dance steps, I will miss that beautiful smile. Of all the dancers she was the only one that I could see that made an emotional connection with her partner, the music, and us, the audience. Sabrina, I am so sorry. I fully expected to see Marie Osmond leave as she very well deserved to because she can't dance well enough for this competition and I feel that age may have a lot to do with her inability to bring true grace to the dance floor.

Barbara | Oct 31, 2007 7:18:13 PM | #Wow, some of the comments in here are high-larious. And BANANAS!
Vagina Davis - You called Sabrina a "fat little pig." Chances are you are projecting some your own self-loathing on her. Get some therapy. Just because she doesn't disappear when she turns sideways doesn't make her fat, by any means. You and Francine sicken me with your judgemental, ultra-conservative vibrato. Come to think of it, you both probably Republican tight-wads. Ugh, the yuck just keeps on coming.
Warren J - Really dug your comment, rock on.
Affection, PDA, whatever. The dancing is what YOU should have been looking at. The show is calling Dancing with the Stars, not Judging the behavior of the Stars. Get off your high horses people. Sabrina and Mark's partnership/relationship made their connection while dancing all the more compelling. You might not have noticed otherwise. My wish for her now is that she maximizes the press she gets from this debacle into something awesome. And I hope she and Mark are a couple. They had passion, and I loved their chemistry.
SansMerci3 | Oct 31, 2007 7:29:00 PM | #I tried to vote for her but it kept telling me that my call could not be completed as dialed. Then when it finally did go through it told me I had already used all my votes. Go figure!
And all of you people that are calling her fat make me sick!!
DL | Oct 31, 2007 9:09:28 PM | #All this talk about her Dance training is BULL!! First of all, She was a Cheetah Girl, not much dancing there, have you seen the movie?(I have, 2 kids) 2nd, So what if she has been dancing all her life, DWS asked her to do the show knowing her background. And as for her and her partner, Who cares if they were "Liking" each other. Good for them. I guess some people were just bitter know one was "liking" them like he was to her.
Last, HELLO, Mel B. is a SPICE GIRL!!!!!!! She is a DANCER also...Spice up your life!!!
Ray | Nov 1, 2007 6:38:12 AM | #But it certainly made for good TV. Everyone one seems to believe totally that someone is counting votes. No one is accounting for the fact--that someone is trying to produce a show people watch--drama, excitement--I have been a skeptic of the reality of this "reality" show since Master ? the rap Dj stayed on so many weeks---Why don't they show us the totals if they are real?
BJ | Nov 1, 2007 7:50:18 AM | #It's probably too late for anybody to see this but I just now thought of it.
I vote online. Every week I pull up the page when the show starts and vote as they dance.
When I finished my 7 votes, the page came up again and said I had six MORE votes. I honestly did NOT vote more than I was supposed to - I was tempted for fear that maybe my votes hadn't counted to begin with, but I didn't.
It IS something to think about.
I have to admit, I'm not disappointed - she really DID turn me off with "cheetalicious" the first night and I never got over it.
Jan | Nov 1, 2007 9:58:02 AM | #I too was THRILLED that Sabrina was voted off. I wanted her gone from day one; she was so obnoxious.
While I like Mel B. well enough, she's not a favorite. I think she's good but I don't think she deserved three 10's this week.
I like watching Jennie & Cameron - they are getting better every week, which personally is what I think the show should be about. Taking someone who's never done this before & turning them into a decent dancer. It's more fun that way.
Sanchez | Nov 2, 2007 6:28:18 AM | #To say to Ray
Sabrina IS a Cheetah Girl while Mel B. WAS a Spice Girl who is now reuniting with the group after close to 10 years.
I have to agree with Sanchez, that the show should be more about seeing people do something different and improving not just upstaging others.
As well it is and always will be first and foremost a TV SHOW. The drama was planned for the ratings. I kind of think she already knew she was leaving and is just playing the part.
Finally if the judges were the sole deciders there would be no need for the show because they have their marching orders before the curtain goes up on the first show.
Hector | Nov 2, 2007 9:46:32 AM | #I have been watching DwtS since day one, and I have never seen such heated comments about an elimination before this week. This 'shocking' result should remind us that DwtS, just like its counterpart American Idol, is based on POPULARITY. Yes, I know that there are judges's scores on DwtS, but that's only 50% of the total.
Sabrina was eliminated, not due to some network conspiracy, but partly due to a smaller fanbase. If there were really an ABC conspiracy going on, wouldn't ABC want Sabrina (Disney Channel star) to win the whole competition? Let's face it, more Americans already knew of Jennie Garth, Marie Osmond and Jane Seymour BEFORE the first dance of the season.
I really can't predict who will win now because I originally thought it would be Sabrina, Helio and Mel B. in the final three. If the judges really wanted Sabrina to be in the final, then they should not have given her such low scores this week. Sorry, but now you know how some American Idol fans felt when Sanjaya was saved week after week.
Paige | Nov 2, 2007 10:18:34 AM | #I have to say, I actually was glad she was gone. You know the point is to have a dance competition and have people dance to the best of their ability, who have NOT had lessons before in dancing and see how good they can become compared to others in the same boat. Sabrina was not in this category, not only had she had dance lessons, she goes on tour "dancing" and in addition to that she's half the age of half the other contestants. I mean come on it was a shoe-in and that's not fair. So for the sake of the competition really being a fair competition, I'm glad she's gone. Now the contestants can actually work hard, do their best and know they will be rewarded for their efforts.
Sweet Melody | Nov 3, 2007 7:56:06 PM | #well "Gomer", think about what you're saying.
you need to get a life.
Sabrina has skill, and talent, unlike a lot of people on that freakin show!
she was like 10 times better than everyone on that show!
what makes you hate her?
can YOU dance that well?
i didnt think so, otherwise you probably wouldnt be so victimizing of someone who clearly deserved to win!
i admit i didnt vote but i hate how you have to sign up for abc.com and give them your phone number, AND how you HAVE to have AT&T phone service for text votes!!
how retarded is that?
and another thing!
like i said before she has overflowing skill!
and i agree with some other people that she was trained in hip-hop, and ballroom is way different!
i mean if she really had an advantage she wouldve gotten 30's everyweek!
and obviously she had some flaws as well as the other contestants!
she still had things to work on as well.
she danced with passion, and energy!
it was way too early for her to go!
(and im hating myself for saying that because of bad comments this week could be her downfall) T.T

you all just hate that your pour marie and jane have two left feet.
you cant let your loathing blind you from whats really happening?
if mark ballas was supposedly "dry humping her" when they received their results, then why isnt there any news on it?
there wouldve been some comment by the media about that.
true, they probably are dating but, COME ON!
Get a grip people. This is a television show, purely for entertainment value. If a silly little show can get your blood boiling like this, I can just imagine how passionate you must be about real issues like world hunger! Grow up!
reality chic | Nov 6, 2007 8:51:12 AM | #I am not sure what went wrong with the American people but something I believe we have all forgotten is how to vote for someone.
Let's get really people there are a few great performers on this show who definitely deserve to still be on but for those that are not the best well, I think it is time for the people of America to vote for the dancing not for their popularity. It is very safe to say that sending Sabrina home was a big mistake. SHE CAN DANCE and SHE CAN PERFORM. She was absolutely grateful for the opportunity to be on the show and constantly thanked her fans. As far as her so called romance with her partner--none of anyone's business and it made their dancing that much more compelling and wonderful to watch. WAKE UP AMERICA and vote for what the show is --DANCING...

seriously people you shouldn't completly bash people like the one who commented about Sabrina and her partner being tramps? I mean come on! Who had the dance that was practically sex with their clothes on? Cameron and Edita! She could have been a stripper before she was a dancer! Besides sabrina and Mark had chemistry and it is not totally disgusting...it's better than meeting someone at a frickin bar! And if you look at a lot of the dancers they act the same way, smothering each other with their hands. Get over it people! It's a dance competiton which involves putting your hands on eachother. So bashing one dancer that is doing the same things everyone else is doing is really bias and judgemental.
