'Las Vegas': Lemon bars, anyone?
I do enjoy a good episode of Las Vegas on a Friday night. I would say that I don't think there is anything scarier than Las Vegas on Halloween, but Las Vegas has a pregnant Delinda Deline, so there is something way scarier on Las Vegas than in Las Vegas. How and why Danny deals with her I cannot fathom.
Before I dig into her, I will happily admit that Delinda was absolutely right at the beginning of the show when she explained to Danny that one needs to start looking at pediatricians prior to the child's birth. That's unquestionably a true statement, but there is something about everything she says and does that rubs me the wrong way. I really don't think it's Molly Sims's fault, I like Molly Sims. I just do not like Delinda Deline, and the pregnancy has only made it worse.
Why did Delinda go off on Danny for him wanting to vet the new pastry chef, Gretchen? Weird though it may seem, Danny is actually in charge of the day-to-day operations of the Montecito, and if the policy is that he has to confirm all such hires I have no idea why Delinda wouldn't simply accept that. In the end, I was just happy that it didn't take too long for Delinda to realize how wrong she was about that. If anyone needs a comeuppance it's Delinda.
Then there was Delinda's knocking the lemon bar out of Sam's hands. It was way out of line. Lemon bars are awesome. They are a delectable treat and even if Gretchen was wrong for making them (and she was), how was Sam to known about Delinda's conversation with Gretchen? It's just that sort of irrational behavior on Delinda's part that makes me dislike her. She even tried a lemon bar later and loved it. Did she apologize to Sam at that point? No, she did not. Instead, she again chastised Sam when Sam ordered another lemon bar.
Everything Delinda does is so flighty and wishy-washy. I can't believe she gave Sam $75,000 to buy back in to the poker game. How much money exactly does she have that she can toss around $75,000 like it's chump change? I guess it's good to be Ed Deline's daughter.
Plus, there was Delinda's Halloween outfit. Do pregnant women even wear pumpkins for Halloween? I imagine that any sort of moratorium on pumpkin costumes for Halloween by pregnant women would be doubly in effect for Delinda. Surely somewhere in her mind she wouldn't want to wear a spherical outfit because she would fear that Danny would think she was going to turn into a sphere because of the pregnancy and never get her body back. The way she was carrying the pumpkin also was quite reminiscent of a pregnant woman carrying her belly, so maybe the show is trying to tell us something about her future looks.
Enough picking on the pregnant woman. She'll get what's coming to her when her feet swell to the size of footballs.
As for Mike's new girl, Carley (or Katie, if you believe that) I prefer Sarasvati, and I preferred Sarasvati before Mike found out that Carley wasn't who she said she was.
Mike's been a mystery and an enigma this year. He has been acting way off the wall. It's possible that Mike should consult me prior to making any more decisions about his life, because at the moment he can't seem to do anything right.
The man broke up with Carley before even talking to her about her lie. How does that work? The Mike Cannon I know would have walked right up to her and called her on the lie, not broken up with her and then backdoored a conversation about the lie.
But, what made matters worse is that Mike believed this whole abusive husband story right off the bat. I have seen enough of Las Vegas to know that just because someone says something is so, doesn't make it true. Yet, Mike jumped on board the story instantly. Mike even went out and illegally purchased a handgun. He barely knew this woman. What exactly was going on inside that man's head? Clearly, while he didn't want to confront Carley he had no problem confronting the ex-boyfriend, with an illegally purchased gun in tow. I think Mike may have lost his mind. Perhaps it's he who should have been seeing a shrink at the beginning of the season.
Other thoughts of mine (you know you want to know):
- No matter what Mike says, I don't believe The Fast and The Furious is a classic.
- No matter how many awesome costumes Piper puts on (I really liked the headless one), I just don't think I like her. Maybe it's because she doesn't actually have any sort of character yet. Outside of tonight, when her role was to dress up in goofy Halloween costumes, she has only ever reacted to everyone else rather than having anything of her own happening.
- How did Cooper not know that Piper was behind him when she was wearing the fourth costume (there was smoke people... smoke)?
- I love it that Sam is back to normal, because the funny, smart, mean Sam is the Sam I know and love.
- I also love that Cooper played Sam tonight. Good times. That's the exact sort of insight into Cooper that I want the show to be giving me.
- Lastly, I love The TV and Film Guy's Reviews. Read the site and you will too!

Since I can't stand the Sam character I was happy to see Cooper get the best of her. I'm also glad to see that Cooper can play dirty to get what he wants.

Actually Delinda didn't give Sam the money that's why she had to play her lucky coin.
What was up with the creepy guy trying to hit on Piper? After the second try we never saw from him again.
Who played the character of Gretchen?
I hate Delinda, and now I can't even watch the show because this whole pregnancy story is taking all of the hotness out of Danny.
Where is Mary?
Sadly, Mary is gone from the show.
I can't stand Delinda either; never could. This pregnancy storyline is beyond annoying. What is Piper's role exactly? And I almost felt sorry for Sam getting played that way. Guess Cooper really is a crafty SOB. Wonder if we'll ever get the whole story on this guy?
Delinda was only supposed to be in the first episode but Molly Sims was so charming they kept her. Unfortunately, there's no longer enough of Molly in Delinda and she's become a whiny pain in the butt. She gives dumb blondes a bad name. I agree with Lina - Danny's lost all his hotness since hooking up with her. They should have kept Mary and got rid of Delinda in the shakeup
Enjoyed seeing Larry & Roger as poker buddies of Cooper. I miss Magnum PI!
