Hey, remember premiere week? That time three weeks ago when all the networks were filled with optimism that this was gonna be their year? Well, we finally know just how many people watched the shows that aired then.

Sophomore slumps: Long layoffs hurting second-year shows
The sample size is pretty small, but early returns on the new TV season suggest it's not an especially good time to be a new show, and an even worse one to be a second-year show -- particularly one whose first season was cut short by the writers strike.

The first full week of the TV season has come and gone, and if there's an official Hot Show out there among the crop of newbies, I can't find it.
