January 13, 2008 should have been the night much of America was introduced to one of the best shows on TV. AMC's Mad Men won the Globe for best drama series and leading man Jon Hamm won best actor for his career-defining turn as secret-keeping 1960s Manhattan ad man Don Draper. Instead, there was a strike and a televised press conference and you may have forgotten about the whole thing.

If you want to know more about the upcoming X-Files movie (releasing July 25), well, the Paley Festival panel only gives a little 411. But at least there's the trailer and series creator Chris Carter giving reassurance that the film remains true to the spirit of The X-files the show.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer may never have been the most-watched show on The WB or UPN and it may never have won the biggest awards TV has to offer, but on Thursday (March 20) night, a William S. Paley Television Festival-generated reunion of the show's cast and producers made the Cinerama Dome at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood feel like the center of an odd sort of universe, or the Whedonverse, if you prefer.

The Tuesday night (March 18) panel for Chuck at the Paley Television Festival can very well be titled "Chuck vs. the Banter." Although the camaraderie is a joy to behold for fans, sometimes the crosstalk, actors impersonating each other and resulting laughter makes it difficult to keep people straight.
