Chris Brown says incident with Rihanna should remain 'private'

Chris Brown has released a statement in which he says the details of the incident with Rihanna should remain a private matter between the two of them.

In a statement to MTV, Chris Brown said, "While I respect Rihanna's right to discuss the specific events of February 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us. I do appreciate her support and wish her the best."

"I am extremely sorry for what I did, and I accept accountability for my actions. At this point, I am taking the proper steps to learn about me and grow from my mistakes. I only hope that others in similar situations can learn from our experience as well. Abuse of any kind is always wrong. The rest I leave it to God."

Chris Brown also told MTV correspondent Sway there was nothing that could be said by his former girlfriend that would make him nervous.

Hmph. That's probably because she's already said everything that would make him nervous. Furthermore, while we realize Chris Brown has to attempt to rehab his image after beating his girlfriend all to hell, keeping the details of domestic abuse "private" or quiet or between the two parties involved is exactly NOT what victims should be doing. Domestic violence should be reported and we don't think Chris Brown's best move right now is to say that abuse is something that should remain "private."

'Bruno' deleted scenes featuring La Toya Jackson

The "Bruno" DVD is being released Nov. 17 but the La Toya Jackson deleted scenes are available right here.

In this scene, cut from the movie out of respect for Michael Jackson and his family, Sacha Baren Cohen's Bruno interviews La Toya Jackson while they eat sushi off a fat, naked man.

La Toya doesn't seem to be in on the joke. She tries to actually field the questions, even when Cohen asks her to pretend to be Michael or tries to find MJ's number on La Toya's cell phone. The scene is uncomfortable.

Really the only funny part of the deleted scene is the very beginning, where Bruno tries first to get Paula Abdul to eat the sushi off the naked man and she leaves.

We don't really see what including this on the DVD adds. Even though Michael Jackson died over 3 months ago, it still seems a bit morbid.

'The Simpsons' scavenger hunt coming to FOX

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of "The Simpsons," a scavenger hunt is coming to primetime on FOX.

Starting Monday, Nov. 9 and running through Friday, Nov. 13, FOX's primetime lineups will feature veiled "Simpsons" shout-outs, tributes and clues. Viewers can find the clues and play online at the FOX website. Watch the video for details.

The grand prize winner will the Ultimate Simpsons Prize Package, which includes: a trip for 2 to Los Angeles to attend "The Simspons table read, a Home Entertainment System, "The Simpsons" DVDs and merchandise and tickets to Universal Studios Hollywood, home of "The Simpsons" ride.

'The Rachel Zoe Project': Taylor Jacobson parts ways

Taylor Jacobson will no longer take part in Rachel Zoe's projects.

After four years of working for the celebrity stylist, Jacobson confirmed in an email to contacts that she has left the company:

"After four amazing years at Rachel Zoe Corporation, I'm saddened and exhilarated at the same time to announce my departure. After much thought and consideration, I have decided to take the challenging leap to go off and style on my own."

Often seen battling with Zoe on her Bravo reality series "The Rachel Zoe Project," Jacobson has talked on-camera about moving on before, but that plan was seemingly put to rest when she got a promotion in the season 2 finale.

No word, as of yet, as to what exactly happened between that blessed event and today's developments, but People.com is reporting that Jacobson did not leave of her own free will, but was actually fired.

Any thoughts?

"TRZP" seems unlikely to survive without the drama that Jacobson brings, don't you think?

Germans love (drunk) David Hasselhoff

David Hasselhoff was a presenter at the Nov. 5 MTV Europe Music Awards and he was slightly inebriated. Video below.

The 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards were held in Berlin, Germany, so naturally David Hasselhoff was tapped as a presenter because, well, you know the rest.

What followed was a drunken freedom battle-cry-thing that you should just watch for yourself.

We love how he assures us that he (David Hasselhoff, of "Baywatch" and "Knight Rider" fame) is not responsible for the Berlin wall coming down. Thanks for clearing that up, David. I guess I owe my high school History teacher $20.

Oh, The Hoff. Do you think we could get him to appear on "America's Got Talent" drunk? It sure would make recapping that show a lot more fun.

'Glee' wants 'American Idol': Who else should hop on the 'Glee' train?

Guest-starring on "Glee" is the new black. We've put together a wish list of guest stars we'd like to see them line up for the spring.

"Glee" star Lea Michele told MTV that she would love to get "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert to guest-star.

Michele compared working with him to "getting to work out at the gym with the best trainer in the world." We love Adam Lambert, so we fully support that cameo. But who else should drop by William McKinley High School?

Kristen Bell
We know the "Glee" kids are going to encounter other show choirs at sectionals and regionals. We think Kristen would make an excellent bitchy soloist from a rival high school. Did you hear her sing on "Veronica Mars?" If not, check it out below.

Amanda Seyfried
Speaking of "Veronica Mars," Amanda Seyfried played the young lead in "Mamma Mia" and did a respectable job on all those ABBA numbers. Since she's so good at playing bitchy, we're thinking Quinn Fabray's older sister.

Eddie Murphy
Hold on, let us explain. Eddie Murphy can sing. We are old enough to remember "Party all the Time" with Rick James (below, if you are unfamiliar). Plus lately he's been all about doing kid-friendly fare. We think he should guest-star as Mercedes' father and show off his vocal stylings.

Neil Patrick Harris
Before he gets over-exposed (is it already too late?), we want to see him on "Glee." We don't care what he does. He could appear as himself. He could drop by as Barney Stinson. He could sit at a computer and sing-type into his Doogie journal. We don't care. Just bring on the NPH.

Alyssa Milano
Did you know Alyssa Milano sings? We didn't either until we found these albums on Amazon. Apparently she's big in Japan. It's too bad they've already established Rachel Barry is an only child because talk about separated at birth.

What about you guys? Any guest-star dreams for "Glee?" And wouldn't Adam Lambert seriously be great? Make it happen, Lea Michele!

A&E's 'Jacksons' series gets December debut

A&E has fast-tracked its docu-series about Michael Jackson's brothers, setting a December premiere date.

"The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty" will debut at 9 p.m. ET Sunday, Dec. 13. The six-episode series will follow Jackie, Marlon, Jermaine and Tito Jackson as they gear up for a Jackson Five reunion and mourn the loss of their brother Michael.

A&E had been working on a TV project with the brothers prior to Michael Jackson's death in June. The channel had filmed a pilot -- which focused on the reunion aspect -- before Michael's death and was planning to air it next year before proceeding with any additional episodes.

In late August, however, the cable channel decided to go ahead with the series, which will now obviously feature the brothers dealing with the loss of Michael and, as well as their relationships with one another and their work on a concert for the 40th anniversary of the Jackson Five.

"This deeply intimate portrait will provide viewers with a raw and honest look inside a musical dynasty," says Robert Sharenow, A&E's head of nonfiction programming. "For the first time ever, the remaining members of the Jackson Five allow cameras inside their very private world, giving the public a glimpse into how they balance their extremely busy personal and professional lives with the demands of celebrity."

Jodi L. Gomes and Lori Gomes are executive producing the series along with the brothers.

Showtime unites 'Tara' and 'Jackie'; 'Twilight' coming too

Showtime unveiled a slew of premiere dates on Friday, including the returns of "United States of Tara" and "Nurse Jackie" -- which will air back-to-back starting in March -- the final season of "The Tudors" and the TV debut of "Twilight."

New seasons of "Secret Diary of a Call Girl" and "Tracey Ullman's State of the Union" are also on their way early next year.

"Tara" and "Jackie" will both begin their second seasons on Monday, March 22. "Nurse Jackie" -- which is getting a relatively quick turnaround; it finished its first season in August -- will air at 10 p.m. ET, and "Tara" will follow at 10:30.

"Twilight" will air on TV for the first time (not counting on demand plays) on Saturday, Jan. 23. Two days later, the new seasons of "Secret Diary" and "State of the Union" will premiere starting at 10 p.m. A new series called "La La Land" starring British comic Marc Wootton will follow at 11.

Finally, "The Tudors" will begin its final season of chronicling Henry VIII's (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) reign on Sunday, April 11.

TV Redo: Zap2it updates 'Bosom Buddies,' 'Manimal,' 'Misfits of Science'

The premiere of ABC's "V" -- and TV's mostly woeful track record for updating beloved TV series -- has us taking a closer look this week at "classic" TV series that just might be able to make a comeback, if done correctly.

Monday, we took a look at "Greatest American Hero," "WKRP in Cincinnati" and "Small Wonder." Tuesday, it was "Hart to Hart" and "Vega$'" turn. Wednesday, "Forever Knight" and "Daria." Thursday, "Magnum P.I." and "The Famous Teddy Z." Lastly ...

"Bosom Buddies" (1980)

Original: When their apartment is unexpectedly torn down, advertising artist and copywriter Kip and Henry disguise themselves as women in order to get cheap rent at the women-only residential Susan B. Anthony Hotel. Neighbor and coworker Amy is in on the deception. Amy loves Henry. Kip loves Sonny, a statuesque blonde who also resides at the hotel. Henry loves ... Kip? We're unsure. This show was the launchpad for the career of Peter Scolari. The other guy went on to direct "That Thing You Do," among other things.

Reboot: While contemporary audiences may be too sophisticated to believe these men could convincingly pass for women, two men passing as transgendered is another thing altogether. Reality TV has broken down the barriers for transgendered characters. This sitcom is savvy and on the cutting edge of social issues. Gender is the new race, and it's high time this was put to comedic purposes.

Recast: Bret Harrison ("Reaper") as Henry. Jason Dohring ("Moonlight") as Kip. Rachel Bilson ("The O.C.") as Sonny. Julia Ling ("Chuck") as Amy.

"Manimal" (1983)

Original: Dr. Jonathan Chase can change into any animal, though he usually opts for hawk or black panther. Naturally, he uses this power to solve crimes.

Reboot: The original series is known better for its title and premise than characters and plot, providing a lot of latitude in reinterpreting the concept. Because of his close relationship with the animal kingdom, zoologist Jonathan Chase uses his powers to defend wildlife and promote environmental causes. This often means pitting himself against loggers, polluters, and companies that experiment on animals. The show will have a much more science fiction approach than the original. Chase will frequently battle agents of mysterious megacorporation TerraCorp, which is plundering the rainforests in search of species with various genetic properties and performing bizarre experiments on animals, producing weird plant-animal hybrids, telepathic apes and so on.

Recast: Chrisopher Egan ("Kings") as Dr. Jonathan Chase

"Misfits of Science" (1985)

Original: A pair of scientists employed by the Humanidyne Corporation unearth a man who is still alive after being encased in ice for 60 years. When Humanidyne takes the iceman for experiments, the scientists gather a team of superpowered misfits to save him and combat their now former employer. The lighthearted adventure series featured a ragtag group of characters who roamed the city in an ice cream truck, fighting crime and Humanidyne. The show is notable for being co-created by Tim Kring ("Heroes") and for being one of the first starring TV roles for Courteney Cox.

Reboot: The plot possibilities for a show about regular people endowed with fantastic powers seem infinite but somehow "Heroes" has repeatedly painted itself into a corner. "Misfits" makes this concept as fun and exciting to watch as it should be. The tone will be something like "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog," only without the singing and with more action. Gone are the scientists and the ridiculously-named Humanidyne. The new "Misfits" meet through accidents and serendipity and decide to band together to fight both common criminals and powered individuals who have turned to a life of evildoing. (They do still travel in an ice cream truck.) Though their powers range from awesome to practically useless, one thing keeps the team together--they're misfits with nowhere else to go. Needless to say, they're not always victorious, but their hearts are in the right place.

Recast: Adam Arkin ("Life") as ice cream man with the power to freeze small quantities of liquids and the occasional solid object. Summer Glau ("Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles") as the telekentic juvenile delinquent. Tanya Fischer ("Life on Mars") as the flakey girl who talks to animals. Scott Patterson ("Aliens in America") as the chronically depressed psychic who can see up to 5 minutes into the future. Ryan Donowho ("The O.C.") as the cute geek with a brain like a quantum computer, who can calculate just about anything in almost no time at all. Eric Christian Olsen ("The Loop") as the would-be hero who can move at super speeds, but only in 30-second bursts. Glenn Fitzgerald ("Dirty Sexy Money") as the villain with the power to move dirt with his mind.

'It's Only' Danny Gokey's first single -- so listen

Danny Gokey's first single has hit the radio -- and it's not quite the big belter you might expect.

The No. 3 finisher on "American Idol" last season got his first airplay on a station in his hometown of Milwaukee Friday morning with the single "It's Only." The song was written by Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood of Lady Antebellum and produced by Mark Bright, who's worked with Carrie Underwood.

As you might expect with that crew, the song has a country vibe to it. There are also hints of inspirational music -- also no surprise, given Gokey's background as a church music director. What's largely missing, though, is the big voice that made Gokey a favorite on "Idol." Only in the last 30 seconds or so does he really rev up.

The song will be available for download in December; Gokey's first album is due in March. But take a listen, courtesy of this audio-only YouTube clip:

'Survivor: Samoa's' Erik Cardona: Best game? 'Natalie, 100%'

Erik Cardona was voted off "Survivor: Samoa" in the best blindside I've seen since Eduardo, Mookie and Alex got duped by Yau Man and Earl. Read what he has to say about it.

Before we jump right in to last night's episode, can you just tell us what you were doing before "Survivor?"
That's a great question. I've been this guy who has done some things. I went to college, I graduated and then I was just kind-of called to something greater, something bigger in life. I'm from a small town and the fact that I didn't just become a school teacher and have kids by age 22 made me kind-of an outcast here and I was always chasing a bigger goal, a bigger dream. I would go to bed at night and think to myself, "When is it you are going to find whatever it is you are looking for?" I swear to God, I've said that to myself hundreds of times and then this opportunity came along and a couple weeks in I was standing on the beach, looking at that Samoan sky and I thought, "You found what you were looking for."

So what did you do after "Survivor?" Are you back in your hometown?
No, I'm out in LA. I just moved out to Santa Monica. I went to college at Pepperdine and was really fond of the ocean so I moved out there for the beach. Most people go out here for the glitz and glamour but I really just love the beach. I got fired fro my job for taking time off for "Survivor" and when I came back I was like, "But I was on 'Survivor!'" and they're like, "You're still terminated." So now I'm working with my buddy on this production company and I help him write stories and tell stories. Carson Brothers Creations is what it's called and we just love good stories. It doesn't matter, funny, documentary, anything, we just want to tell stories. I have a much more appreciation for a good storytelling after being on the show, it's such good theatre.

Okay, so let's talk about last night's crazy episode. What happened, from your perspective?
They lost their damn minds. They just went crazy. They broke my heart. It was so tough. I haven't felt so brokenhearted since a girl in college came back from a year overseas, a girl I was totally in love with, and said, "Erik, I don't think I love you at all." I haven't felt like that in eight years, so thank you Galu for bringing me back there. They just broke my heart.

I think there was an idea, then there was confusion, we were malnutritioned, there were crazy people there to begin with and a crazy idea came out and they went with it. The whole thing went down in like 5 minutes. I walked down the island and there was no elephant in the room and I come back five minutes later and all of a sudden there's a huge elephant sitting on the sofa and it's like, "Where did that guy come from?" I would like to give them more credit for the invisible attack but they did it in five minutes! What decision have you ever made in your life that took only took 5 minutes? These people didn't think about anything. They went "Erik, Erik, Erik, okay cool." I went from zero to villain on my own tribe, the one that I bled purple for, in five minutes.

Did you have ANY idea you were getting voted off?
No. Zero. Zilch. Even though I did sense a little bit of confusion, I didn't know it was directed my way. There was nobody, there was nothing, there was no Erik and then somehow they all jumped on it. I thought that if something crazy were to happen I would've thought that I had earned enough respect of playing my ass off for that team that it would've warranted at least someone to say, "Hey, let's think about this a little more." I thought I was tight enough with some of those Galu men that one of them would've put the kibosh on it. Somehow this crazy plan got past me, it got past my guy tribe members, and it went into effect

Is it more satisfying to get booted off by blindside because that's good game play, or do you wish you would've known it was coming?
Oh no, I think you want to know. As a guy who reveres respect and loyalty, I think the right thing to do is to look someone in the eye and tell them they are going home. I understand that game play doesn't lend itself to that, but especially because I had the Idol! Nobody knew about it and if somebody had given me the respect of telling me, I still could've played it.

The other thing is, here's the behind-the-scenes "Survivor" exclusive. When people get booted off, they're actually relieved. There's a moment, there's a part of you that when your torch is snuffed is like, "Okay. Time to go." But for me, it was zero like that. I wasn't happy about the food or the warm showers or being able to talk to people. There was absolutely no relief, no satisfaction about going home.

At this point in the game, who do you think is playing the best game?
Jesus... gosh, that's so tough. John? Maybe? I gotta go with John. I think everyone is kinda playing a little bit different game. See, Laura was playing a good game but she was wrong. She made a mistake and got a little greedy and got a little pompous. I can't really say Russell, because he's aggressive but he looks like a total idiot when he comes to our tribe. He came over to us and he shows 8 different people the idol and makes promises to everybody and I thought his game play sucked.

At this point in the game I didn't really respect anybody's game play. Shambo, God bless her heart, she was very loyal but she wasn't a gamer. She wasn't a strategist, she was loyal and that's what she brought to the table. Monica was thinking she signed up for the wrong show. She thought she was going to be on "Survivor: Cabo San Lucas Princess Edition." I guess maybe Brett because he works really hard, he's very intelligent. I'm gonna go with Brett and America doesn't know that because he doesn't get so much facetime.

Oh, wait no! Natalie. She's protecting herself as a lone wolf, only woman on Foa Foa. She's really tight with a guy who's mowing people down and at this point in the game she concocted the idea to get me out and I think she's responsible for making the biggest move in the game. I stand corrected, it's Natalie 100%.

At this point in the game, who were you rooting for?
Nobody. They all stabbed me in the back. There were so many Erik votes that came up, I thought Jeff Probst himself had written my name down. I felt like there were a hundred votes with my name. Every last one of them except for Shambo stabbed me in the back but it's hard to root for Shambo because she was with me and I don't know if she had enough steam to go farther in the game but I guess without her I wouldn't have gone as far. It was a pretty solid mutual relationship, so I guess I root for Shambo but I wouldn't put money on it.

Jon Stewart is very upset about Glenn Beck's appendix

Jon Stewart devoted a good third of "The Daily Show" Thursday to a topic that's front and center in our national conversation: Glenn Beck's appendix.

OK, so maybe that's overstating the gravity of the Fox News host's appendicitis a bit (it hit Beck during his radio show Wednesday, and he's reportedly doing fine following the surgery). But don't tell Stewart that.

Upon hearing the news, Stewart and his writers concocted a spot-on parody of Beck's style that somehow connected his appendicitis to ACORN, Hitler and outdated medical knowledge. Blackboard, reading glasses and emoting all included.

It's really better seen than described, so have a look for yourself.

This morning, she and new "American Idol" judge Ellen DeGeneres teamed up to crowd the north side of downtown: They were giving away copies of O Magazine with Ellen on the cover.

One of the early highlights? Ellen promised the crowd a rather, uh, salivary treat: "I have personally licked every magazine. If you don't like it, Oprah will buy you a car."

Oprah eventually arrived at just after 11 a.m. Central, after which the pair began signing magazines. The entire affair, which drew an estimated crowd of 1,000 faithful, lasted just under 30 minutes, after which Oprah and Ellen were whisked away.

J.J. Abrams goes 'Undercovers,' TNT gets good 'Mentalist' vibe

J.J. Abrams is re-entering the spy game.

The mastermind behind "Alias" will executive produce and possibly direct his Warner Bros. pilot "Undercovers" at NBC, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

the network describes "Undercovers" as a twist between the "Bourne" franchise and "Mr & Mrs. Smith."

Abrams has directed the first episode of "Lost", and episode of "The Office" and moved on to helming theatrical fare such as "Star Trek" and "Mission: Impossible 3."

Other TV news:

- TNT has swooped in to snatch up CBS' "The Mentalist" with a syndication deal to begin running the show weekly in fall 2011 and launch all-out in 2012. The more than $2 million an episode isn't cheap, but TNT has been a busy little buying bee lately, taking "Southland" off NBC's hands after the network dropped it from its schedule before any of the sophomore season episodes could air.

- A&E has greenlighted the Matt Passmore-starring pilot "Sugarloaf," about ex-Chicago cop Jim Longworth, who gets kicked off the force after being wrongfully accused of having an affair with the captain's wife and then joins the state police in a small Florida town.

- A&E has also cast Jeffrey Nordling, John Heard and Michael Arden to star opposite Radha Mitchell in the drama pilot "The Quickening," about homicide detective Maggie Bird (Mitchell) who's been demoted to pushing pencil after she's been diagnosed as bipolar. Nordling will play her loyal former partner who now runs a detective agency, Arden will play her doctor and Heard will be portray her boss.

- Meanwhile, over on Cartoon Network, two original scripted live-action series: "Tower Prep" and "Unnatural History" have been picked up for 13 episodes each. "Prep" is an action thriller revolving around a teen (Drew Van Acker) who attends a prep school for students with "unique potential," while "History" is an action-mystery series centered on a high school student whose world travels with his anthropologist parents has given him some specialized skills that come in handy with mysteries involving the national museum.
