'Supernatural' spinoff casts 'Vampire Diaries' favorite Nathaniel Buzolic and Lucien Laviscount as leads in 'Supernatural: Tribes'
The "Supernatural" spinoff pilot "Supernatural: Tribes" has just cast the two main leads, and one of them is none other than "TVD" fan-favorite Original vampire Kol, a.k.a. Nathaniel Buzolic, TVLine reports.
Hey, if the fans can't have recently deceased Kol then they'll gladly take Buzolic as another supernatural creature. Buzolic joins the potential new series as a series regular, playing David Hayden, a shapeshifter from one of the mafia-esque ruling monster families of Chicago. David has been trying to live as a human, having turned his back on the monster life years ago.
"Supernatural: Tribes" is about the various monster families that rule the dark monster world of Chicago. The families are being tracked by a new hunter who's trying to stop them and rid Chicago of all things supernatural. Meet the rest of the main characters here.
The spinoff also cast "Skin's" Lucien Laviscount as that main hunter. He will play Ennis Roth, a police academy trainee whose fiancée is killed as a casualty of the monster war. That tragedy leads him to the truth about the monsters hidden in the shadows, and he becomes a monster-hunter himself, bent on revenge.
Both David and Ennis will appear in episode 20 of "Supernatural" this season which will serve as the "Supernatural: Tribes" backdoor pilot, airing April 29 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
