'Sons of Anarchy': Walton Goggins knows how he wants Venus and Tig's story to end
If there is one guest star that every "Sons of Anarchy" fan has come to fall in love with, it's Walton Goggins and his portrayal of Venus Van Dam, the transgender escort that catches Tig's (Kim Coates) eye.
Venus has the distinction of one of the most memorable entrances into the "Sons of Anarchy" universe, helping the club out with a blackmail scheme that involved a sex act or two and some very incriminating photos. What struck a chord with viewers, though, was Tig's attraction to her.
When she made a surprise return in Season 6, a two-episode arc that saw her personal life fleshed out, it became clear that Tig's feelings for Venus were true and, by the end of the arc, possibly mutual. Now, with only one season of the show left, will Goggins return to complete Venus and Tig's journey?
"I can't answer that," Goggins tells Zap2it at the TCA 2014 winter press tour. "I don't know but I know [Kurt Sutter and I] both want her to come back." As for how he dreams of their love story playing out, he continues, "I don't know, happily ever after? Wouldn't that be something?"
If asked, Goggins would definitely return to the character one last time. "Kurt is just like a brother to me and I think he's one of the most talented among us and I look for any excuse to work with him," he says. However, he adds, "If it does happen, hopefully you won't know because it'll be a surprise."
"Sons of Anarchy" will return to FX with its final season in Fall 2014.
