Golden Globes 2014: Shocked Andy Samberg wins for 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'
You aren't going to find Andy Samberg at a loss for words very often. But it happened at the 2014 Golden Globes, when he beat out fellow nominees (and huge names) Michael J. Fox, Jim Parsons, Jason Bateman, and Don Cheadle for Best Actor -- TV Series, Comedy or Musical for his role as Jake Peralta on FOX's new comedy, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."
Maybe it was because "Saturday Night Live" buddy Seth Myers introduced him in the nominations as "The Andy Samberg."
Full speech is as follows, and you can tell, he really wasn't prepared for this honor, and the giggles from the audience proved it:
"Oh no! I didn't prepare anything. It wasn't gonna happen. You guys -- the Globes, right? Who knew?! I guess I'll just thank everyone. Thanks to FOX, and Kevin Riley, and Universal/NBC Universal. And, uh, you know, the guys who came up with the show, Mike [Schur] and Dan [J. Goor]. The cast is awesome! The crew are really good. Um. Can't forget them. The writers kick A. Everyone on my team ... no, I really do love them, and respect them. And uh, Kiv [Akiva Schaffer] and Jorm [Jorma Taccone] who I've done everything in my career with, and of course, my beautiful, incredible wife, Joanna [Newsom]."
