MTV EMAs 2013: Eminem performance definitely wasn't lip-syncing
Say what you will about Eminem's "Saturday Night Live" performance, the rapper showed up ready to impress at the 2013 MTV European Music Awards. Viewers definitely won't be able to play the lip-sync card on his dual performances of "Berzerk" and "Rap God."
Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers, seemed energized for his performance, no doubt helped by the fact that he was performing to a packed arena and not a small studio audience. While Mathers' rep said he wasn't lip-syncing on "SNL," but was just layering his voice with backing tracks, it wasn't much of an issue during the EMAs, as his voice came through loud and clear.
After the performance, Eminem accepted the Global Icon award from Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), and the two put on a rather unfunny comedy act, with Marshall channeling Steve Carell's character in "Anchorman" with a simple, "I love award." He then admitted that he doesn't know who Afrojack is, like most of the world.
