'Dancing With the Stars': Amber Riley picked for the win, says Florence Henderson
Virtually anyone would want "Carol Brady" on their side ... and when it comes to "Dancing With the Stars," she gives "Glee" veteran Amber Riley the thumbs-up.
Florence Henderson was a Season 11 contestant in the ABC competition, and she'll be in the studio audience Monday (Nov. 25) for the penultimate episode of Season 17. The matriarch of "The Brady Bunch" says she's a fan of all the finalists, but she's decided who's likeliest to win the mirrorball trophy in the season finale Tuesday (Nov. 26).
"I love them all, so it's going to be hard," Henderson tells Zap2it. "Corbin [Bleu] is such a dancer; obviously, he knows what he's doing. I think Bill Engvall is adorable, and he certainly has improved. But I think maybe Amber will win -- I just have a feeling. What she's done has been truly remarkable. She's a very talented young lady."
Henderson will be on Rachael Ray's team along with another "Dancing" alum, former "Bachelor" Jake Pavelka, when Food Network's "Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off" starts its third season Monday, Jan 6. Clearly, she enjoys participating in such contests, making her glad she's forever part of the extended "Dancing" family.
"I loved the show before I was ever on it," Henderson says. "I've been around dancers all my life, and for me, being on the show was kind of like how you rehearse for a Broadway production. It's so intense. I was rehearsing seven hours a day, seven days a week.
"And then, it's live! The curtain goes up and that music starts, and you'd better deliver. There's no turning back, and if you fall on your face, you fall on your face. That was part of the excitement and the challenge for me."
