'Dracula': Jonathan Rhys Meyers bites into new drama
Golden Globe winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers ("The Tudors") stars in this provocative new drama as one of the world's most iconic characters, Dracula, debuting Friday, Oct. 25, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Created by the producers of "Downton Abbey," they present this twisted, sophisticated and sexy take on Bram Stoker's classic novel.
The mysterious Dracula arrives in London in the late 19th century and poses as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society, including the new technology of electricity. (It's a useful invention for a man who avoids being in the sun.)
However, there's also another reason for his travels in London: he hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier. Dracula is hell-bent on destroying his enemies once and for all and his plans seem to work until he becomes infatuated with a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.
Tune in Friday, Oct. 25, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC to see that while the legend takes on new life, some stories never die.
