'Arrow' star Stephen Amell plays with his poster on Vine
Sometimes it's hard to understand the ultra-short-film style of Vine. But when Stephen Amell, the star of "Arrow" on The CW, uses the video-making app, everything becomes clear.
Vine is awesome. And so is Stephen Amell.
The video is short and not terribly complicated. Its inspiration is a promotional poster for "Arrow" that depicts the show's hero, Oliver Queen (Amell), staring out with an arrow covering one eye. The imagery is probably meant to be very serious and profound. It's caption, "Innocent and not guilty are two different things," definitely implies this.
Amell does not seem to have reacted that way. Instead, Amell took to Vine in order to mock his own face. The actor posted his short film on Thursday (June 6) with a simple caption:
"Winning the junket so far."
How exactly does Amell mock the super seriousness of "Arrow"? Intercutting images with the original poster, we see the actor with a pencil over his eye (note that it's the opposite eye from what is in the poster). Then, the pencil is replaced with a remote control. The next eye-covering object is a brightly colored pillow. Finally, the world spins as Amell is apparently overwhelmed with the profundity of it all.
