'Game of Thrones' Season 3 episode 7 preview: Daenerys targets Yunkai and Jaime jumps into a pit
You didn't think Daenerys Targaryen's warpath across the Narrow Sea would end with Astapor, did you? Now that the Mother of Dragons has her army of loyal Unsullied, it looks as though she's heading next to the city of Yunkai. But will she be coming as a friend or foe? That's more than the preview for the upcoming "Game of Thrones" Season 3 episode "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" tells us.
The above preview also teases what will happen to Brienne now that Roose Bolton has decided to send Jaime Lannister back to King's Landing. We see her still wearing the dress Roose provided for it, and Locke's foreboding words that "we'll take good care of her" don't seem to bode well. Jaime can be seen jumping into a pit at the 0:29 mark in this trailer, which is a pretty significant moment for those who know what's coming in this storyline. As for the rest of you, you're in for a treat.
In other parts of the upcoming episode, Gendry doesn't realize how much trouble he's in now that he's in Melisandre's control, and Arya wishes death upon the Brotherhood Without Banners for betraying her friend. Theon can still be seen calling out for mercy, and Robb Stark and his wife Talisa seem to be growing ever closer. As for that final shot of Drogon, we can't say often enough how happy we are with the effort HBO is putting into making Dany's dragons look as awesome as possible.
"Game of Thrones" airs Sundays on HBO at 9 p.m. ET. Don't forget that the title of this episode, "The Bear and the Maiden Fair," is also the name of a significant song The Hold Steady performed for Season 3.
