'Game of Thrones' Season 3 episode 2 preview: Arya, Bran, Jaime and Brienne are back
"Game of Thrones" finally returned to HBO with March 31's premiere, "Valar Dohaeris." The plots and intrigues taking place in Westeros and the lands beyond are as complicated as ever, and that will remain the case as we head into episode 2, "Dark Wings, Dark Words."
HBO has released a promo for the upcoming episode that introduces fans to Mackenzie Crook's character Orell. He is a Wildling warg -- meaning he can get inside animals' heads like the Stark siblings -- and tells Jon Snow and Mance Rayder that he sees "dead crows." That doesn't sound too good for the men of the Night's Watch.
The teaser also shows that characters Arya, Bran, Jaime and Brienne are back after being absent from the Season 3 premiere. Bran looks like he'll be meeting some new people in the woods, Arya stumbles across a dangerous group on the road and Jaime and Brienne engage in a sword fight. All in a day's work, right?
The intrigues at King's Landing also pick up as Sansa is brought to meet Diana Rigg's Lady Olenna, Margaery Tyrell's grandmother. She's a character to look out for in Season 3, as is Margaery. One snippet from the promo shows Margaery seemingly seducing King Joffrey, a first for the young king. How will he handle it? Tune in to HBO on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET to find out.
