Watch online: 'Bates Motel' series premiere first six minutes

A&E's "Psyco" prequel series "Bates Motel" premieres Monday (March 18), but you can already watch the first six minutes online in the player above.

The opening sets the tone for the creepy, darkly comic and mysterious series exploring the early days of Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) and his rather too close relationship with mother Norma (Vera Farmiga) in a present day setting. It also explains how Norma came to own a motel and demonstrates how perfectly suited Highmore and Farmiga are to their roles.
