Kristin Davis joins 'Bad Teacher,' Dermot Mulroney taken hostage at NBC

kristin-davis-dermot-mulroney-gi.jpg"Sex and the City" star Kristin Davis has taken her first regular TV role since the end of the HBO series in 2004: She'll co-star in CBS' comedy "Bad Teacher."

The show, an adaptation of the 2011 movie that starred Cameron Diaz, stars Ari Graynor as the title character, who takes a teaching job as a way to find her next husband. Davis will play her nemesis (the part Lucy Punch had in the film), the faculty president and choir director at the school.

Davis starred in both "SATC" movies that followed the series; other recent credits include "Couples Retreat" and "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island."

More pilot casting:

- Dermot Mulroney, late of "New Girl," will star in a political thriller at NBC from writer Rand Ravich ("Life"). He'll play a "meek-looking" guy (translation: probably not actually meek) who is taken hostage while chaperoning a school field trip for his daughter and her classmates, one of whom is the president's son.

- ABC's comedy "Divorce: A Love Story" has added Adam Goldberg ("NYC 22," "Dazed and Confused") to its cast. He'll play a friend of the recently divorced Kenny (Jason Jones), who can't stay out of his ex-wife's (Andrea Anders) life, and vice versa.

- Diego Klattenhoff ("Homeland") has been cast in NBC's drama "The Blacklist" as the FBI agent in charge when a highly wanted criminal (James Spader) turns himself in.

- Comedian Josh Rabinowitz has left NBC's Robert Padnick-Greg Daniels comedy pilot. [Hollywood Reporter]
