Kristen Schaal replaces Mandy Moore in ABC's comedy pilot 'Pulling'

kristen-schaal-pulling-gi.jpgWhen Mandy Moore decided to leave ABC's comedy pilot "Pulling" last week, she said the character she was to play was being taken in a different direction. Writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky confirmed that was the case, and her departure apparently occurred with no hard feelings.

Judging by who is replacing Moore on the show, it seems clear the "different direction" talk wasn't just cover. Kristen Schaal, a master at playing off-center characters, is taking over the role of Louise from Moore, Deadline reports.

Schaal joins June Diane Raphael and Jenny Slate in the show about three women who are still figuring out their lives. "Pulling" is an adaptation of Sharon Horgan's acclaimed BBC series; Horgan is an executive producer of the new version alongside Eisenberg and Stupnitsky ("The Office," "Bad Teacher").

Schaal's credits include "The Daily Show," "Flight of the Conchords" and "30 Rock" along with a ton of voiceover work. You can currently hear her on "Bob's Burgers" and the Disney Channel show "Gravity Falls."
