'Dancing with the Stars': Lisa Vanderpump's dog Giggy will dance in the Season 16 premiere

"Dancing with the Stars" is going to the dogs in Season 16. Literally -- contestant Lisa Vanderpump's beloved dog, Giggy, will take the stage to dance with his owner for Monday night's season premiere.

Giggy isn't just any dog, of course. Far more famous than many of the "celebrities" appearing on the competition series, the puppy has been a regular on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" since the show premiered. In addition to this, Vanderpump's dog has a Twitter account with over 65,000 followers.

Naturally, Giggy has been using this account to drum up pre-show support for Lisa. Dogs are loyal that way.

Plus, gimmicks are always good for votes at the beginning of any "DWTS" season.

According to TMZ.com, Giggy's participation in Lisa's dance with professional partner Gleb Savchenko depends on the Pomeranian avoiding poop mishaps and other dog-like behaviors on the ballroom floor.

But if little Giggy does well, we may be seeing more of the dog as the competition moves forward. Will the judges go for this gimmick? Is Len Goodman a dog person? If he isn't, this might be a very hard sell.
