'Bachelor Pad' not returning to ABC summer schedule

stagliano-tony-blakeley-bachelor-pad.jpgAfter three consecutive summers on ABC the reality competition "Bachelor Pad" will not be a part of the network's upcoming summer schedule.

Executive producer Mike Fleiss let word slip on Twitter that the show would not be returning, but has subsequently deleted the tweet. However, TVLine included an embed of the tweet in a report confirming the news.

It's unclear if or when "Bachelor Pad" will ever make it to Season 4. The show put former "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" contestants in a "Big Brother"-type environment to compete for cash prizes over six-to-eight episodes.

But there were signs viewers never really warmed to the concept and Season 3 averaged a meager 4 million viewers and a 1.27 rating among adults 18-49. That was a harsh decline from the 5.88 million viewers the show averaged in Season 1 and the improved average of 6.39 million viewers for Season 2.
