'90210' alum Matt Lanter nabs lead role in The CW's 'Oxygen' pilot: He'll play an alien

Well, that didn't take long. Just days after wrapping production on the series finale of "90210," resident Beverly Hills bad boy Matt Lanter has landed a new gig, on another CW favorite. Lanter is set to play Roman, the male lead of The CW's "Oxygen," opposite "Friday Night Lights" star Aimee Teegarden.

Roman is one of nine aliens who have been trapped in an internment camp on earth for the last decade. When he's released from the camp, he's immediately enrolled in a suburban high school. That's where he's reunited with Emery (Teegarden), who he briefly encountered when he landed on earth 10 years earlier.

Malese Jow ("The Vampire Diaries") and Grey Damon ("Friday Night Lights") also star. Lanter's casting was first reported by THR.
