Soledad O'Brien out in CNN morning show changes

soledad-obrien-gi.jpgIn a move that was expected ever since Chris Cuomo joined CNN, Soledad O'Brien is officially out as the network's morning anchor.

O'Brien hosted "Starting Point" for a year and a half, but CNN has been undergoing a series of changes with the arrival of new president Jeff Zucker (formerly of NBC).

Among those shifts are an expected revamp of the morning show to be hosted by Cuomo and, most likely, CNN's Erin Burnett.

O'Brien will continue to contribute to CNN via documentaries she will produce and host under her company, Starfish Media Group.

"We greatly value Soledad's experience, and her first-rate storytelling will continue to be an asset to CNN. Documentaries and long-form story telling are important to our brand and we're anticipating more of what we've come to expect from her -- riveting content," Zucker said in a statement.
