'NCIS: LA' spinoff adds Miguel Ferrer's Owen Granger

miguel-ferrer-ncis-la-los-angeles-spinoff-gi.jpgMiguel Ferrer's "NCIS: LA" character NCIS Assistant Director Owen Granger is in line for a big promotion and some overtime as he's set to become a full-time regular on both "NCIS: LA" and its upcoming untitled spinoff.

Ferrer first joined "NCIS: LA" in a recurring capacity in the Season 3 episode "The Watchers," and now Deadline is reporting the actor is set for double duty assuming the spinoff makes it to series.

The strategy is similar to the use of Rocky Carroll's NCIS Director Leon Vance on both "NCIS" and "NCIS: LA" in the early days of the "LA" run.

Ferrer joins Edwin Hodge as the first regulars on the proposed spinoff which follows a team of mobile agents solving crimes across the country and is expected to be introduced as an episode of "NCIS: LA" airing later this season.

Ferrer was previously a regular on NBC's "Crossing Jordan," and had recurring roles on "Twin Peaks" and "Desperate Housewives." Fun fact: he's the cousin of George Clooney.
