Mira Sorvino cast in Jim Gaffigan's CBS comedy

mira-sorvino-cast-jim-gaffigan.jpgOscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino is perhaps coming to the small screen for the 2013-14 television season. The Wrap is reporting that Sorvino has been cast as the on-screen wife of comedian Jim Gaffigan for a CBS comedy pilot.

The as-of-yet unnamed pilot stars Gaffigan as a married father of five (much like he is in real life). Sorvino has been cast as wife Jeannie, a super-wife and super-mom whose sixth kid is her husband, Jim.

Sorvino has primarily been a movie actress, winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 1995 for "Mighty Aphrodite" and also appearing in "Beautiful Girls," "The Replacement Killers" and "Gods and Generals." She did have a memorable guest-starring turn for the Super Bowl episode of "House."
