'Law & Order: SVU': Mike Tyson guest stars as an abuse victim - what did you think?

On Wednesday night's (Feb. 6) episode of "Law & Order: SVU," boxer and convicted rapist Mike Tyson guest-starred as Reggie Rhodes, a murderer on death row whose crimes stemmed from being abused as a child.

In 1992, Tyson was convicted of raping Desiree Washington, Miss Black Rhode Island, in a hotel room in Indianapolis. He was sentenced to six years in prison, but was released after three years. Tyson always maintained it was consensual.

There was a protest launched against Tyson's being cast on a show that purports to support victims and survivors of abuses. However, Tyson wasn't portraying a rapist. He was portraying a man who maintained he was sexually abused by several male authority figures as a kid and that's why he killed a man who was abusing him as an adult.
