Taylor Swift on 'New Year's Rockin' Eve': Live(?) from Times Square

taylor-swift-new-years-eve-2012-gi.jpgTaylor Swift was one of the headliners of ABC's "New Year's Rockin' Eve" Monday night (Dec. 31), ringing in the new year by performing two hits from "Red" live in Times Square.

Or mostly live, anyway.

Swift, wearing black leather pants and a sparkly red jacket, ripped through "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" about 20 minutes before the ball dropped in Times Square. But on the first song at least, it looked as though she was getting some help from a backing track.

"We Are Never Ever" sounded as though it was mostly live -- and really, an artist using a backing track at a huge outdoor venue is hardly surprising anymore. And, as usual, Swift commanded the stage and had the huge crowd in the palm of her hand.

Take a look at Swift's "New Year's Rockin' Eve" performance below and let us know what you think.
