'Mad Men' Season 6 will premiere in April

mad-men-s6-premiere-date.jpgThe sixth season of "Mad Men" has a premiere date, and will once again launch with a two-hour episode.

The Emmy-winning series will premiere at 9 p.m. ET Sunday, April 7 on AMC. It will move to its regular 10 p.m. home the following week.

"To be able to continue exploring the stories of these characters for a sixth season is an amazing opportunity," creator Matthew Weiner says. "We love mining this world and look forward to bringing the audience stories that we hope will continue to both surprise and entertain them."

Weiner wrote the two-hour season premiere, and executive producer Scott Hornbacher directed it. Series lead Jon Hamm directed the second episode of the season.

Per usual, AMC and Weiner are keeping all details about the new season under wraps. The network does note, though, that Ben Feldman, who plays Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce copywriter Michael Ginsberg, is now a regular member of the cast.
