'American Idol': Matheus Fernandes was bullied his whole life, says it made him strong
Matheus Fernandes - Long Beach Audition... by IdolxMuzic
"American Idol" ended its Wednesday (Jan. 30) show with an audition from Matheus Fernandes, a young man who is extremely small in stature. He tells the show about how growing up, doctors couldn't find anything wrong with him -- he's just short. And it led to a hard adolescence.
"Growing up was definitely a challenge ... it was rough with all the bullying. Lots of tears were shed," says Fernandes.
More tears are shed in the "Idol" audition, but not from sadness. Matheus is so overcome by the judges' compliments that he can't hold it in.
"We're looking for a unique, special person and you fit that bill," says Nicki Minaj.
"You hit me in the heart and you brought me to tears, which I am holding back currently. You can sing anything for me," adds Mariah Carey.
Matheus is through to Hollywood with four yes votes. Were you touched by his story, "Idol" fans?
