'American Idol': Brian Rittenberry wows judges with his 'light'
Brian Rittenberry - Charlotte Audition... by IdolxMuzic
The first decent audition of Charlotte on "American Idol" Wednesday night (Jan. 23) was Brian Rittenberry of Jasper, Georgia. His wife is a cancer survivor -- though the way they were editing his video package, we thought she had died for awhile. But it's great that she's OK now.
Anyway, Brian sang "Let it Be" in this big, booming baritone and the judges loved it. Mariah says, "I didn't expect that and you took me by surprise. I seriously enjoyed it" and Keith says, "Good light about you, soul, husky and cool and your vibrato's great. Other than that, it sucked. [laughs]."
What did you think, "Idol" fans? We aren't sure he'll survive Hollywood, but he's definitely a different sound than you normally see on "Idol."
