haven-school-shooting.jpgSyfy has yanked tonight's (Dec. 14) scheduled new episode of "Haven" -- about killings at the local high school -- in the wake of the massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary School In Newtown, Conn.

"Tonight's scheduled 10 p.m. episode of 'Haven' contained scenes of fictitious violence in a high school," Syfy confirms. "In light of today's tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, we have decided not to air it. At this time, no decision has been made as to when the episode will air."

In the episode, titled "Reunion," Nathan (Lucas Bryant), Duke (Eric Balfour) and Audrey (Emily Rose) search for a troubled killer after a string of murders take place at the Haven High School. Laura Vandervoort ("Smallville," "V") guest stars as Arla Cogan, a woman "driven to the brink of madness by love" -- a two-episode arc that concludes with the season finale, originally scheduled to air Dec. 21.

The animated holiday episode of "Eureka," "Do You See What I See," will air in Haven's place tonight at 10 p.m.
