'Cougar Town' snags Tippi Hedren for Season 4 finale

The mini-career renaissance for actress Tippi Hedren will continue into 2013, thanks to "Cougar Town."

Hedren, whose experiences with director Alfred Hitchcock were the basis for HBO's movie "The Girl" and who guest-starred on "Raising Hope" earlier this season, will guest on the Season 4 finale of "Cougar Town." She'll be playing herself in a story that, well, is probably best explained by the official description from TBS:

"The cul de sac crew scheme to capture Tippi Hedren to cheer up Jules' dad, Chick [Ken Jenkins]. From harassing a tour guide to stalking Tippi's home, the crew will stop at nothing for Chick to have a glass of champagne with one of his favorite stars."

Hedren joins a guest-star lineup for the new season that also includes Shirley Jones, Ali Wentworth and Gillian Vigman. The show makes its cable debut on Tuesday, Jan. 8.
